About
Private Thai cooking classes since 2004. Learn how to cook authentic Thai food in my home kitchen. Unlike other cooking schools in Bangkok, I hold private Thai cooking lessons in English, or in Thai. You choose day, time, and the dishes you want to cook from my family cookbook containing 100+ recipes gathered over three generations. Each lesson covers three dishes of your choice. Morning lessons include a market trip to a traditional local fresh market.

I was in the opportunity to visit Bangkok for a week. One of the things high on my to doo list was a serious cooking course. It took me some time to find Angsana . A little more expensive then hundreds of other courses.
I was cooking alone with Angsana in a professional kitchen .Fresh ingredients , clear recipes,, with a thorough friendly dedication and high standard. I totally enjoyed it and learned a lot in my 2 days cooking course. If i visit Bangkok again in the future i will definately book a half day with Ansana.

In large part because of previous great reviews of the wonderful cooking class offered by Angsana I did it this morning and agree with everything positive that has been said about it before. You choose your three dishes to cook, so it pays to know something about what you like in Thai cooking before you go. I decided to select three dishes I had never cooked before (and I do a LOT of Thai cooking at home in the US). After a little difficulty finding each other for the class, everything else was wonderful. Angsana has a very accomplished but informal approach to the cooking. She leads you through a local market to select the ingredients (that part alone being almost worth the price of the class), and then directs you (in her home kitchen in my case, though I see she can come to your kitchen if you want) in what needs to be done in cutting, mashing, slicing, cooking, and the like. The result for my three dishes was wonderful, and I very much doubt you would go wrong if you selected any other three she offers (though you might ask for advice if you don't know Thai cooking already to some extent). I'm tempted to do the class again with a very different choice of three dishes. Some important notes: she is very close to the On Nut station on the Sukhumvit line of the Skytrain, so easy to get to; the class from beginning of shopping to carrying away your leftovers is around 3 hours more or less; at this writing the cost of the class for a one-on-one session is 2800 Thai Bhat, not far from US $90. Do it; you'll love it.

What a great experience! The package is totally customizable - select the dishes you want to learn and you're off to the market and the kitchen. You learn everything from how to select the ingredients to how to prepare and alter the flavors. The greatest thing is that you can make the class as involved or basic as you want (or your experience allows). Excellent teacher!!! Thank you for a great cooking class!

Hello, I have just returned from my cooking class with the lovely and charming Angsana.
We started out by meeting up near 'On Nut' BTS and then on to the local market there to buy our ingredients. Angsana explained what some of the more unusal items in market were as well as poining out how to buy the best ingredients at the market; for example how a Pappaya should look and feel to make the best Pappaya salad.

Following our shopping trip it was straight back to Angsana's home to commence our cooking. Here we first met and greeted Angsana's Husband Christopher and her beautiful daughter Victoria. Then into the kitchen for some chopping, cleaning, Mortar and Pestle grinding and other forms of preparing our ingredients before the actual cooking.
It was all great fun and I did pick up quite a few good tips whilst we were cooking. I cook Thai food every week back in France where I live but I took this course to try out new dishes and to see if I could make one of my staple favourites, Gaeng Ga Rii Gai, (yellow chicken curry), taste more authentic than it does in my kitchen. Guess what? Success! I now know exactly where I was going wrong. My other 2 dishes were as I said new to me and they turned out to be very, very tasty, (Aroy Dee Mak).

aftyer completing all the cooking and tasting Angsana packed all my efforts up securely for me so I could take them back to our apartment to eat for our dinner tonight.

I think Angsana' cooking class is extremeley good value for money. This cooking lesson is a one on one course, it included the visit to the market, the cost of all the ingredients, a couple of taxi rides, Angsana's attentive time, use of her kitchen and home, and packaging of the finished items along with copies of the recipes, so I can ensure I follow everything carefully back home, and best of all....I don't have to fork out anymore money for tonights dinner.

If you love Thai food and want to try to cook it yourself then this is the course for you. This is not just you in some group of others in a large commercialised kitchen, this is cooking in a real Thai home with a real Thai cook. I have taken just a couple of photos to show the produce in the market and a quick photo of Angsana and me.

Thank you again Angsana for a brilliant lesson.

Angsana was very friendly and knowledgeable. She took us to the market and was able to explain all of different ingredients even ones we weren't using. We talked about variations of the recipes that we made and how to adjust the spices for different tastes.

Angsara was super in customizing my one on one class to specifically what wanted to do in the class. Even her Mom and her dear Friend joined in to make the day outstanding. We did some new things for her and she taught me some great dishes. The location is so easy off the Sky Train, and the venue was perfect. Would recommend corresponding by email with Angsara as she will work diligently to make the experience memorable.

I'm thoroughly impressed & inspired by the dishes I was guided to create in Angsara's cooking class yesterday.

I've lived in Bangkok for the last 12 months, and (just quietly) I rate the food that I created yesterday among my top eating experiences so far!

Along with 3 friends, I learned new, simple techniques to create 4 staple dishes: Tom Yam, Green Curry, Papaya Salad & Mango Sticky Rice. The methods we used were slightly different to what I've tried when following cooking books - and the results spoke for themselves.

The best thing about Angsara's class is the format. In a group of 4 people, we each prepared and cooked every element to create our own dishes from start to finish. So, you leave the class feeling confident that you will be able to recreate the dishes on your own with ease. In comparison to other cooking classes I've done, I feel I got great value for money for this reason alone. Because we each made our own dishes, we could all compare our results and with Angsara's guidance, we learned a lot about balancing Thai flavours.

The trip to the market is great. If you're on a short trip, it really gets you off the tourist path, and if you're on a longer trip, it helps you to understand more about daily life in Thailand. I was pleased, as Angsara helped me to learn the Thai names of the ingredients and some Thai phrases along the way.

To keep this quick, here's why I'd recommend the class to you:
- enjoy Angsara's company, and have a fun, interesting day out
- tailor your own experience, or be guided by Angsara, as you wish
- be thoroughly satisfied with the food you create
- learn to select ingredients based on availability (in Thailand or outside of Thailand)
- learn to balance Thai flavours
and.... enjoy the left overs the following day, as I'm about to do just now!

My son and I selected 4 dishes to make. We went to the market, went to Angsana's house and cooked up a storm. When the lesson is done she will give you the easy to follow directions so you can recreate your experience at home. This is a great way to learn how to cook your favorite Thai dishes. This is an excellent experience!

I cooked with Angsana for 2 days and the dishes were delicious. Market trip followed by cooking at Angsana's house, very close to the market. Angsana is very friendly (and speaks fluent English), has all the recipes written up for you to take home afterwards, and the food really is fantastic.

This private Thai cooking class for our group of 4 was completely personalised - we chose the recipes and enjoyed the best fun ever. I am not a keen chef at all and neither is my 74 year old father... but we laughed all day and ate the best Thai food in our 2 week holiday in Thailand. Angsana was really wonderful. We had our own tour of her local market, with full explanation at all stalls we stopped at. We cooked at her home and ate together, and then she drove us back to the railway station. The booking was made via email /website , and we paid with cash on the day. It was not expensive. We far exceeded our time allocation for no extra cost. Angsana also gave us each the recipes to take away. Her husband Christopher made us great coffee too. I will definitely return and shall always recommend Angsana.
