Wow what an experience. We loved our tour guide Pam she was so knowledgeable, passionate and helpful. She even went out of her way to walk us to a lady boy show after our tour which was so kind. Such an adventure! We had a great time and saw so much! We took a taxi to the boat which took... More

There were just the 2 of us on what we thought was going to be a 2.5hr 20k bike ride around back alleys, canals and markets but we ended up biking for 4.5hrs with our very charming and informative guidelines Jae. She was an excellent leader and her English was easy to understand and fluent. I would totally recommend this... More

After another chaotic trip in Bangkok's traffic it was a surprise to meet our guide and be told we are catching a bus. It was a great way to get to the the grand palace. Our guide GG was AMAZING, no question too hard to answer and the overview of Thai society we had been craving. The tour was The... More

I had a wonderful day with Nat during my grand palace and river tour. Nat was so friendly and welcoming. He was very knowledgable and was able to give us some great insight into the history of the temples and palaces. Thank you Nat for and amazing experience!

I was met by my guide, Pum, at my hotel and was the only person on the tour which was great. Having my own personal guide was fantastic and Pum proved to be very knowledgeable, explaining the history and culture of the various attractions we visited. Going by Tuk tuk gives you a unique perspective of life in a city... More

Interesting and informative tour, but the highlight was our local guide Gof, she was great company, funny and knowledgeable, especially in some challenging circumstances (approximately 1 million Chinese tourists in the grand palace in 35+ degree midday heat). I would highly recommend this tour.

Great way to spend the morning and get to see Bangkok. Our guide was knowledgeable and helpful, I'm sorry I can't remember her name. 830m tour on 27/12/15.

We did both the Temple and River of Kings Urban Adventure and the Chinatown Food Discovery, and both were wonderful. The Temple and River of Kings tour was of the more touristy parts of town, but the price includes entrance to the Palace and Wat Pho, and it means you get background information and guidance where you wouldn't otherwise. The... More

We went on the Temple and River of Kings Urban Adventure in November 2015. Our wonderful guide Wawa took us on a local bus to the Grand Palace, a huge complex of royal residences, temples, and bureaucratic buildings in the heart of Bangkok, which we explored for a couple of hours. It was desperately hot and unbelievably crowded - in... More

Staying in Banglamphu

Neighborhood Profile
Banglamphu
While you’ll see skyscrapers in most parts of Bangkok, it’s the gilded roofs of ancient pagodas that adorn the skyline of Banglamphu, the city’s historical and most touristic district. Hordes of tourists flock to this area to tick quite a few must-see attractions off their to-do list, with the Grand Palace being the most spectacular of them all. Banglamphu is also home to Bangkok’s infamous tourist ghetto, centered around Khao San Road. Visit at night to feast on road-side pad thai, cheap beers and if you’re up for it, some dancing fueled by buckets of Thai whiskey.
