The two tour guides were really acting in a professional manner and ensured our safety during the three ours of flying between trees. Not only that, but they were very friendly. The offered Thai lunch and the zoo safari by the lake after the flight was very nice complementary. The trip is about an hour driving far from Bangkok to reach the mountain, but it worth it.

Awesome experience ziplining at 15 points and absailing at 25 and 45 metres each! Our guide LED & JR n team really made us feel safe throughout our activity. Professional yet cheeky! Even my parents enjoyed it! We even get to visit the open zoo nearby! Great that we have smaller group of 5 to go about the activity. Will recommend this to my friends!

Oops - last time we posted this review it seems we "pasted" it twice. Reposting now so readers don't have to read it twice ;-)
When planning for our recent holiday, which included a return visit to both Pattaya and Bangkok, we spent time looking for sights and experiences we had not tried on previous visits. We had also been saving our spare coins, and had managed to get together enough to give ourselves a special treat, so we kept this in mind when checking out the “Things to Do” in both Pattaya and Bangkok (not to mention our other destinations for the trip).
Flight of the Gibbon caught our eye, both within the Pattaya and Chiang Mai “Things to Do” list. We read numerous glowing reviews of the treetop adventure, and checked out the sight’s website (www.treetopasia.com). This experience would not only be fun, but also a challenge as Sabrina is not a fan of heights, and is constantly working to beat that fear (once upon a time she could not look over a first floor - or for those using the American floor numbering system, a second floor - balcony). The idea of flying through the tree tops was both exciting, and a little scary. As our time in Chiang Mai was already full, we looked into joining Flight of the Gibbon in Chonburi from either Bangkok or Pattaya. Checking our list of things we wanted to do in each town we decided we could best fit the trip in from Bangkok.
The Flight of the Gibbon trip included airconditioned transport from one of two locations in Bangkok to Chonburi, our treetop adventure, lunch, and a short visit to the Khao Kheo Open Zoo. The website showed pick-up time (available from Khao San Road or Sukhumvit) to be 6:30am. We contacted Flight of the Gibbon via their online reservation form to check if there was a later pick-up time, and to check the actual location for pick-up from Khao San Road (we had read the pick-up point to be "Charkrapong No 45" but wanted to check the actual building). We were staying in Yaowarat (Chinatown) so planned to walk to Khao San Road and didn’t really want to be walking in the dark. Within less than an hour of submission of the online enquiry form we received an email from Alex at Flight of the Gibbon advising that a second pick-up time of 9am was also offered. The pick-up point was advised to be Sawasdee Khaosan Inn, Khao San Road. We confirmed that we would very much like to join the 9am pick-up, and received email confirmation of our reservation. We must say that all of our email communications were fantastic - very quick, helpful, and answered any enquiries we had!
The day of our Flight of the Gibbon experience dawned bright and sunny. We headed out on our walk to Khao San Road (the pick-up point was only 2.6km from our hotel in Yaowarat, so a pleasant half hour walk), arriving around 15 minutes prior to the scheduled pick-up time. We found Sawasdee Khaosan Inn easily enough, but could find no signage indicating where the pick-up point would be. We approached the reception staff who knew nothing of their hotel being the pick-up point for Flight of the Gibbon, and who further advised their address to be number 18 (not 45). A little concerned I wandered further down Chakrapong Road while Sabrina waited for me outside Sawasdee Khaosan Inn. Not having found number 45 I headed back to Sabrina who had been advised by both a tuk tuk driver and a taxi driver that we were in fact at the right place, and that the van for Flight of the Gibbon should arrive “any minute”. We relate this part of our story so those heading to Khaosan Road for pick-up will know not to expect signage at the pick-up point, and not to worry, Sawasdee Khaosan Inn is the right place - when the Flight of the Gibbon van arrives you won’t miss it as it is well labelled!
The Flight of the Gibbon van arrived, and we learned we were waiting on three others to join our tour (they were running a little late). While waiting we were allowed to sit in the airconditioned - and may we say very fancy and comfortable - van. We’ve not been in a minivan quite so posh. The chairs were large and very comfortable, there was a TV, and it was also very nicely decorated with a couple of booklets about the experience, and a couple of gibbon toys for ambience. Our other travel companions soon arrived and we were off for the hour and a half (or thereabouts) journey to Chonburi.
Before we knew it we were driving through the big gates at the Khao Kheo Open Zoo. We were first taken to the Flight of the Gibbon office to make payment for our tour, then we piled back into the van for a tour around the Khao Kheo Open Zoo - what a great bonus! We visited the gibbons (including a young baby gibbon who obviously just learning control of his arms and legs, and spent quite some time tripping, falling, and face planting as he tried to navigate his limbs), the deer (in an open enclosure with food available for purchase), giraffes and elephants (both of which we fed at a cost of THB20 per bunch of food - beans for the giraffes and grasses for the elephants), hippos, and binturong including a 5 month old baby binturong which we were lucky enough to get to cuddle (no fee, though donations were much appreciated)! All up we spent over an hour at the open zoo, both being driven around and walking to visit the animals. Our driver was brilliant, making sure we saw our favourites and had enough time to enjoy ourselves.
At last the time had come. We were driven to the meeting point where gear is stored for those about to go flying. We were each given bandanas (to help maintain the hygiene of the helmets worn while flying through the tree tops), given a chance at a last minute toilet break, and told we could put our belongings into lockers provided (keys are in a string so you can carry them around your neck). We were actively encouraged to bring our cameras so we could take pictures from the platforms and if skilled enough, while flying (we had both a video camera and a DSLR camera, we took both, and found them to be no problem to carry and use).
We received our safety briefing, including strict instruction that we were not to touch any of the gear. Our “Sky Rangers” (guides) would do all of the clipping and unclipping of both our safety lines, and the bits that let you glide down the line (think they’re called trolleys - according to Google anyway). Harnesses on, safety briefings done, and off we walked to the first platform. It is an uphill walk, over natural steps (formed by tree roots and dirt). If you’re unfit just let your guides know and they’ll go slowly - they also stop for a bit half way up. Arriving at the first platform we were clipped by our guides onto the safety rope, we were also taught how we could control our direction while moving down the zipline (how to keep yourself facing frontwards), and how we needed to land at the platforms. One of our guides made his way across the zipline to the next platform, and then it was our turn.
Each of us, one by one, had our trolley clipped onto the line, then the safety line was clipped on as well - Sabrina and I were last in our group. We held on as instructed, and told to sit down. Next thing you know you are flying through the treetops heading towards the next platform. The first couple of lines took our breath away. Hearts were thumping, we’ll admit we were nervous, and buzzing with adrenaline. After the first two or three lines though you forget all your fears, and just focus on the fun.
All up there are 24 platforms, 15 zip lines, 2 suspended bridges, and 2 vertical drops. The highest line is 50 metres above the ground - the scariest part here was climbing the spiral staircase around the trunk of the tree. The longest (and last) line is 300 metres. On one line you zip down toward the ground, where one of the Flight staff takes pictures of you “flying”. The Sky Rangers make sure you are safe at all times, always reassuring you, but also making it fun with laughter and jokes, even taking some pictures with your own camera at some of the platforms so your memories will have you in them. One of our group was terrified in the beginning - to the point where at platform 2 she decided she wasn’t going to continue… With some support from the rest of our group, and encouragement and reassurance from our guides, by the end of the “adventure” she was cool, calm, collected, and enjoying every line!
At the end of our great fun couple of hours flying through the tree tops, we returned to be unharnessed. Souvenir photos were available for sale at, we thought, very reasonable prices! 8 x 6 inch prints with a cardboard Flight of the Gibbons “frame” (or surround) cost THB100 each. Clocks including a personalised photo were also available for THB300 each. We felt no pressure at all to buy, which was nice, and have come home with a print of each of us flying through the air, plus a group shot taken at the very beginning of our walk to the first platform. I had a room at home that needs a clock, so also picked one of these up - great to start stories when guests come to visit.
Finally we returned to the open air restaurant near the Flight of the Gibbon office. Here we were served lunch which included steamed rice with a fried egg, chicken curry (with coconut milk), stir fried vegetables, and fresh fruits. Cold water was also served (presumably other drinks were available for purchase). There was plenty of food, and it was quite tasty. The downside of the restaurant being outdoors and part of an open zoo meant we did fight a little with the flies who wanted to share ;-)
Sadly all good things come to an end. I made a quick dash to the Flight of the Gibbon’s office to pick up a couple of extra souvenirs (bottle stubby holders at THB180 each and a toy gibbon for THB150). We piled back into the minivan to return to Khao San Road. Three of our party (including Sabrina) snoozed on the drive home, while two of us, just too buzzed from our fun day, chatted all the way back to Bangkok.
We had a great day! We conquered fears, made new friends, and experienced a whole different type of freedom (flying through the tree tops is a great feeling). The experience, while pricey (though to be fair, it’s cheaper than the same experience would be at home, and we don’t mind paying more for something where safety and high level maintenance is clearly a priority), was awesome fun and we will definitely be doing the other Flight of the Gibbon course in Chiang Mai when we head back there next year.

Whilst the actual experience was great it was very disappointing to learn that we were ripped off by over 500 baht a person. My partner and I booked directly with the flight of the gibbon company but others in our group had purchased their tickets through another tour company and only paid 2800 baht. Much cheaper than us! When we questioned the manager about why the difference she was very rude and would not refund our money. Our advice would be to book with the other company Flight of the Jungle who offer the exact same experience but at a much cheaper rate.

I have been extremely humiliated by your business today. Not only have you failed to provide the services you advertised and that I have paid for in advance and in good faith, but there was a large amount of planning and preparation to get to Bangkok and to the meeting point as defined by you. After confirming the trip yesterday and checking the pickup location several times, and contacting your follow up number several times, you failed to even notify my of what was going on. I arrived at the pick up point well ahead of time and ended up waiting in the hot sun for 2 hours. This is the most disgraceful way that I have ever been treated by any business ever in my life.

We wrote David to apologize and ask if there was anything we could do to make this unfortunate situation good for him. Having not had a response, we wanted to address the situation for other Trip Advisor’ readers. We hate to make excuses and we take direct responsibility for this problem. We contract vans and drivers for the Bangkok route and on the day of David’s experience we changed the route for Bangkok passengers and unfortunately the driver missed the new route. We realize excuses won’t help David recover his time or his two hours in the sun, but we will learn from this and ensure it does not happen again.
We run dozens of vans and routes from three cities every day. We work hard to coordinate to ensure that each person has a terrific experience from pick up to drop off. We may have been late because of traffic issues before, but we have never stranded a customer. We hope that David can forgive us, and hope to hear from him so we can make it up to him.

I booked the attraction to my family ( 5 ),
The night before I felt very bad and I asked for cancellation.
I was very disappointed when I got the clear message of no refund is acceptable.
I may understand that I have to pay a fee but don't think that full price debit on this case is fair.
Hezi.

We made several attempts to reach Hezi to discuss this post as we wanted to be sure we understood all the reasons why he thought he should receive all of his money back. He admits cancelling the night before the tour, when his pick up time was just a few hours away. We try to be fair with our cancellations, but to avoid this kind of unfair post by an unhappy guest, we post our cancellation policy in several obvious places and include it clearly with each confirmation, which every customer receives with their receipt. Hezi and his friends/family were already in Bangkok, so it was also not clear why he would expect a refund for all 5 guests that he booked when only he was sick? We waited a month before posting this reply with nothing from Hezi which would help us understand. We are sorry he was unhappy with not getting his money back, and that he got sick on his vacation, but to post such a negative comment on Trip Advisor, although we did nothing wrong, is quite unfair. Everyone reading this can and should understand our cancellation policy. Every tour company in the world has one.

Booked the tour of 8 with payment on 23 Oct '14 for 31 Dec '14 for Flight of the Gibbon Zipline Eco-Adventure Canopy Tour with Go Gibbon!™ - Chonburi from Bangkok - 39,992.00baht. Requested for 2 pick up point if booking was for 9 pax was consented but not for 8 pax (1 of my friend backed out and therefore we went for 8 instead). Hence, 5 of my friends have to travel from their hotel to another hotel for pick up scheduled at 9am. This, I can understand from a business model point of view,
31 Dec '14- I called the hotline from hotel ay 8am. Pick up was scheduled at 9am. They sounded that they were not aware, made the changes on the phone that pick up will be half an hour late, which means 9:30am. I gave them the benefit of doubt that probably there were many pick ups that they have to make as it was the holidays season therefore a little delay is inevitable. Moreover, the ultimate objective is for us to have fun. In the end, their so called VIP Van picked us up at about 10:45am and the best part was, WE ARE THE ONE WHO CALLED THEM UP TO FOLLOW UP ON IT FOR ABOUT 10 TIMES!!! Even the concierge manager offered his help to talk to the operator on the phone seeing the whole group of us waited for almost 2 hrs. No apology, no explanation was done. You could imagine how we all feel right at that moment.
The journey from Bangkok Sukhumvit to venue was not 1 hour, it makes up to 2 hrs because of slow moving traffic at certain point. Therefore we reached the venue at about 1pm. What can be done when what we booked for was a tour from 9am- 4/ 5pm??? That is not the end, the driver was simply ignorant of our request of wanting to use the restroom during the journey. On our side was, WHY??? Do we have to hold our bladders to make up for the time YOU LOSE FOR OUR TOUR?!
Upon reaching, the person in charge was not there to even apologise or explain, they just send a tour guide, hoping that we are fine with all the time we wasted and go on to our tour. In the end, we spoke to the person in charge of the Bangkok/ Pattaya branch and demand for a full refund as all of us were exhausted and had no mood to go ahead with anything to do with Flight of Gibbon. We went back to Bangkok with more than half of the day gone.
I have never ever experience such disorganized, uncalled for and terrible trip before in having to travel to Bangkok several times. Utterly disappointed with gibbons.

We did with a small group a day on the omega with jayson the guide. We finish at 16:00 and in 16:15 we call that we forgot our go pro stick on the cable. No one find it? Is it for real??? Someone there stole it and said they could not find it. This is not a good service if in your staff there are people that still thing from costumer!
Think before order a day from this group!!!

We want readers to know what really happened to this reviewer and what we tried to do to satisfy him. First, the reviewer told our staff he had lost his go pro stick. Immediately, our staff went through the entire course and found his go pro stick on the ground under a zipline. We returned it to him. He then lost the stick a second time and this time he accused us of stealing it because we could not go back and look for it again. Then he posted this review. We contacted him after finding him, although he had not even taken the tour at our Bangkok location, but rather another location. We apologized via email and although we were confident he had lost his stick, we offered to buy him a replacement anyway. But since he has never responded to our offer to do so, we are forced to post this response. Our other reviews clearly demonstrate that our staff does not steal and hey. we tried to make it right.

We booked on the official Flight of the Gibbon website, it was pricey 1000 $HK (100 pounds) but we thought it would be a wonderful adventure. How disappointed we both were!
On arrival I filled in the required documents, I marked down that I had a sore hip, nothing was said to me. It causes me no discomfort, I am physically fit and can easily walk up 2 flight of stairs, as the website clearly states. When we arrived at the zipping base I found out we were required to walk up 2 steep rocky hills. Short hikes one 15/20 minutes and the other 10 minutes. I spoke to the sky rangers they were very concerned and was decided it would be unsafe for me due to the climbing. They informed the office that I did not participate.
When we returned to their office I was greeted with "you did not tell us“. I spoke to a lady manager in the office who was very unsympathetic saying "guides do not have all the information"
We send an email to company explaining our disappointed they were also very unsympathetic, saying it was our fault for not reading all the website information. We did read all the information and reviews before booking and NO where on the website does it say that you have to walk up steep rocky hills.
For a company who has several locations around Thailand and has been award certificate of Excellence 2015 we very dissatisfied and would not recommend this company.

Today is my last day in Bangkok. I decided that I wanted to do something exciting and after reading all the positive reviews on tripadvisor I decided to book at flight of the gibbon. Because of both the weather and my flight leaving in the afternoon, I decided to book the early tour (leaving the Ariyasom Villa at 6.30). I woke up at 5.00, arrived at the villa and waited for the van to pick me up (I was told that the van had not yet arrived). However the van never showed up. At 6.45 someone from the service desk at the villa called Flight of the Gibbon; the said they were very sorry (which of course was Thai for saying that they were not planning to pick me up). I asked them how we would solve this and they offered me the option to 1) wait for the 8.30 pickup or 2) return the day after. Both options were impossible given my flight in the afternoon.

I was looking at packages with Elephant sanctuaries on their website. One of them seems to be associated with Baan Chang Elephant Park (chiang-mai-zipline-experience-elephant-sanctuary-tour-1-day), and I'm not sure what the other one is, as it doesn't say.
From a previous question on Tripadvisor, Flight of the Gibbons replied they only use ethical elephant sanctuaries.... but from research, Baan Chang Elephant Park is not a chain/bullhooks-free nor ride-free (even if it's bare back) sanctuary. So, is Flight of the Gibbon supporting this?

I have a question about the elephant sanctuary portion of this tour. Is this a sanctuary that is good to the elephants? do you ride them at all? I have been seeing many reviews online and facebook saying that some of the sanctuary actually abuse the animals so I want to make sure even though the zip line is great I don't want to support animal cruelty.

We only fed them coconuts and bananas. They're in their enclosure and you are not allowed to enter. Only feed them and take pictures :-)

hi I have a couple of questions.
Is there pickup available at Jomtien Beach?
Is it best to pre book or can we call and book the day prior?
how much for just the ziplining (not the whole tour- make our own way there and back)
Thanks

hi sorry I dont know the answers to these questions
we booked with tour east and they were very good they possibly have different pick up points as the one we originally booked was changed to another one that was easier for us to get to and I think more central to other people on tour
the zip line was a good 1 1/2 to 2 hours from Bangkok depending on the traffic

the main activity of the tour is ziplining, so I think the rest is complimentary and your mainly paying for the ziplining anyway which cost me 3550 Thai bat for each from Bangkok. it must be cheaper from pataya which is closer to the resort. You need no course before zipline. It is lots of fun.

Hello. Is the a cafe or restaurant to eat lunch at after our zip lining experience?

The package I was on included lunch. Because they had overbooked the morning we had to have lunch before rather than after. Food was uninspiring with no choice and no consideration for those who might require special diets. The chicken, for instance, had been dipped in wheat before they fried it.

Depends on where you start. From Bangkok you will be on the road for 1 - 2 hours before you get there. Less from Pattaya. Once you there the zipline is less than 2 hours; the zoo about the same. So the whole day, from BKK, was nearly 10 hours

I am planning to take the tour on 5th August 2016. We are landing in Bangkok at 5 am in the morning and are expecting to be in Pattaya at or before 11 am.I have the following questions regarding the tour.
1. I read on other websites that a pick up at 12.30 pm is available. Will we be picked from our hotel, Nova Platinum in Pattaya?
2. I believe its raining in Thailand. Will the weather be a hindrance in the activities included in the tour?
3. How long is a typical tour and if the pick up is at 12.30 pm, will be able to enjoy the activities before sunset?

Contact them. They'll reply soon. And this place is closer to pattaya, so I hope 12.30pm pickup won't be a issue. From bangkok it took 2 hours to get there. I think they won't stop for rain. But there is no point of going to open-zoo in rain. It's better if you contact them first.😊 Good luck!!
