About
You'll be able to shop at the market, cook authentic Thai food, and eat four favorite dishes. The day will be divided into two parts that will have us exploring fresh market in Khlong Toei or Silom in Bangkok, where you shop for daily fresh ingredients before you cook them. Then, the cooking class will be conducted in an air-conditioned class where you will be introduced to Thai exotic ingredients, including rice, vegetables, spices, and herbs. The school's daily fixed menu consists of the following: 1) APPETIZERS/SOUP: Spicy Lemongrass Salad, Spicy Shrimp Salad, Green Papaya Salad, Hot and Sour Shrimp Soup ("Tom Yum Goong"), or Spicy Coconut Soup with Chicken ("Tom Kha Gai") 2) STIR-FRIED: Stir-fried Rice Noodle with Shrimp ("Pad Thai Goong") 3) CURRY (served with rice): Red Curry with Chicken, Green Curry with Chicken, Massaman Curry with Chicken, or Panang Curry with Chicken 4) DESSERT: Mango Sticky Rice

The area
Address
Neighborhood: Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

    Very enjoyable cooking class
The class was surprisingly easy to follow and so much fun. The chef gives good instructions, the class has a good pace and time flies. Best of all, you get to eat all the delicious food you cook!

Fun and enjoyable experience, one for the books!
My sister and I enjoyed very much both the cooking & eating part. Having no experience in the kitchen, we had a wonderful time learning how to prepare and cook Thai dishes. Big thanks to our teacher Oum for a fun and interactive cooking lessons. She made it very interesting and FUN for the whole group.

    Great Cooking Experience
This was the best. The class was perfect. The food was amazing and quick. The instructor was fun. It was the perfect experience. Highly recommend. They are very helpful and responsive on WhatsApp. Bring your own drinks and enjoy the yummy meal you make. Their process is efficient. While you cook one meal, the staff is setting up your prep ingredients for the next meal. It was the perfect way to immerse our selves into the culture.

    1000% recommend!
I had such an amazing time taking a class here and want to go again! Oum was so funny and a great teacher, she made the class so much fun and set a great mood for the fairly long class! I would 100% recommend taking a class here when you visit Bangkok, the teachers were great, I learned a lot, and the dishes were all delicious!

Ask questions before u book this class
I’ll begin by saying meeting time was at 830. Everyone was there waiting and the guide arrived at 9. Didn’t introduce herself just started checking off names. Went to the market, which was kind of disgusting. Garbage on the floor, wet and dirty. We entered a very small store in the same vicinity which was well supplied, reasonable prices. Rode a tuktuk to our class which took about 5 mins. My husband accompanied me , but wasn’t cooking just observing. This apparently isn’t allowed so he stood outside in the heat/humid weather. Reasoning is because he would know the recipe, which is a bit absurd considering I get the recipe myself to take home. Lastly, we were divided into groups to begin cooking. Beginning with sticky rice and the sauce. I thought we would all be able to be hands on with every dish individually, but we were put into groups and had to do it together. I was in a group with a 7 yr old who wanted to do everything. So this class I took i basically watched her burn our sauce and spill it all over the counter. I don’t think children under at least 13 should be in this class. Papaya salad sauce was also done with an entire group of about 10 ppl. I did nothing but observe. I was disappointed in this class with the above issues. Otherwise, the food tasted amazing and my husband was allowed inside to taste my food on my plate.

    Highly recommended cooking course
It was a great experience. We were a small group and the fun cooking instructor Katalyna was able to respond very well to each individual. The good organization, the funny and entertaining teacher, the international group constellation and the good atmosphere made the delicious food even more enjoyable. It was great! Had an enjoyable experience at House of Taste with chef Alex. We had morning wet market trip and we’re taught 4 dishes. It was easy to follow and Alex was very detailed in sharing! All the dishes tasted delicious. A must do activity when in BKK!

My partner & I were super excited for this cooking class as we have nothing for love for Thai culture and food and what better way to immerse ourselves than this... or so we thought. We had our whole day planned around the cooking class and now has affected the rest of our trip as we still want to get a cooking class so we have had to change our plans.

As per TripAdvisor, there were available slots for the night class at 17:30 on the 29/7. We booked at 18:00PM on the 28/7 and as soon as we booked my partner had messaged them in WhatsApp to confirm our booking but with no reply. The next day (day of the supposed class) I was double checking my TripAdvisor, roughly around 9AM, to confirm that the booking was still on & to my surprise it said it was cancelled. I immediately tried calling them twice with no answer. Finally at 12PM they sent my partner & I a message asking for our names to check if our booking was still on and then confirm that it wasn't. I then called them to ask what had happened and they said that they had sent a message through TripAdvisor (in which you get no notification for) at 7:30PM the night we had made the booking to say that thdy had booked out. My first question was, why would the availability be there for us to book on TripAdvisor if it were booked out? Their business model has no effective communication. My second question was why was the money taken out of my account in which she replied she had ne er receieved the money on her end and then why had I receieved confirmation that the booking was to go ahead via email & through the TripAdvisor app itself? The lady was very arrogant and kept talking ober me when I had these questions and said I was not understanding. I completely understood but none of my questions were never answered and I have no confirmation that I will be getting a refund. The lady then started to question us to say why did we not get back in touch with them and said to my partner that we did not communicate with them whatsoever. We have confirmation of messages being sent STRAIGHT AWAY to them after we booked and even sent a picture to my partner of the time the lady had sent the message to us (7:24PM) and said that we did not get back to her to confirm her booking where my partner had actually messaged them at 6:27PM to confirm the booking. AVOID THIS BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS as there is ineffective and inefficiemt communication and will try to put the blame on you for their lack of communication. They even denied confirmation of payment whereas we have the receipt to confirm payment was made (whether this is locked in escrow with TripAdvisor or they are lying through their teeth we have no clue whether we will get our refund. This has completely ruined the end of our trip as now we have to rearrange our travel plans to find a last minute booking for a cooking class. We have all pictures for evidence. Please read through this before you book ane confirm the evidence before you book with this business as they will leave you high and dry and blame you for their lack of communication and system.

We booked through TripAdvisor and it was worth every penny. We met at the MTR station and headed straight to the market. We saw all kinds of interesting things. Smelled durian at pleas ripeness and picked up some ingredients for dinner. We then hopped in tuk tuks to cook. The space was great, very large, tons of equipment and well air conditioned. We learned 4 different recipes. We would start each one learning the ingredients, prepping everything and then heading into the stove. The cool part about the class was that everyone had their own burner and got to cook their own food. Everything we made was delicious, flavorful, and simple enough to recreate at home. I highly recommend setting aside an evening to learn some classic Thai dishes!

We booked this tour to do the following day, during our stay in Bangkok. We woke up the following day and when we checked our email to show the booking reference later, saw that it had been cancelled. This meant we had to try to make new plans for our evening last minute. Very inconvenient when we had planned this in around other trips.
