Neighborhood: Thong Lor & Ekamai
Known as Bangkok’s hippest neighbourhood, Thong Lor and Ekamai is where the city's well-dressed and well-heeled spend their nights sipping cocktails in hidden speakeasies and posh restaurants. Live it up in one of Thong Lor's extravagant clubs and be prepared to brush shoulders with a Thai celebrity or two. While great for a night out, the area is nothing short of interesting during the daytime, either. Expect a mix of savvy coffee shops, pop-up bars and loads of vintage stores, brought to you by hip locals with eyes for design.

I just completed a full course at R. Studio and enjoyed every minute of it. Khun Nuke is not only knowledgeable but also passionate about what she does. I like the way she teaches, very organized, not pushy and hands-off, allowing me room to create and work on my items. The guided visit to the market, where one can find all the materials and tools for leather goods, is interesting and definitely useful. It may sound self-flattering, but I am honestly very proud of the items I made during the course. You are the best Nuke! Should anyone be looking at leather goods workshop, R. Studio is the one for you. PS the studio also offers classes on embroidery, shoe-making etc. All details and prices are available at its Facebook page.
