We took a transfer from airport to our hotel in Patong after arrived at Phuket. We paid 180Baht per person and boarded the passenger van outside gate 5. The driver was rude and extremely unfriendly. We boarded the van at about 4pm and arrived at Patong more than 2 hours later! The reason that the journey took this Long? And we were lucky for being the first few passengers to alight. Beside the usual delay on the roads, and the multiple stops to pick up other passengers from different part of the airport, the driver actually took us to the company’s office and wasted our time there doing the so-called “registration”!!! The process was actually the staffs asking individual passenger if we will be interested in joining their excursion or book a return trip from hotel to airport. To add on to the misery, the driver alighted us and another passenger along the cross road in Patong near a shopping mall. When we bought the tickets from the counter, we confirmed with the ticketing staffs that we will be send to hotel directly. But the driver sent us to Patong and alighted us somewhere which we have no idea where was it at all!!! We asked the driver and he pointed to one direction, told us that our hotel is near and we just have to walk “50 meters” to get there. He removed our luggage from the van and then drove off. We were left at the spot, feeling lost. We tried walking the direction the driver pointed, but we couldn’t find the hotel. We asked the locals, but they were not able to direct us as well. We tried to get a “Tuk Tuk” but the driver quoted us 250B! We then tried looking for the hotel and finally we found it. But that was after 20 minutes of walking around with luggage. This is a very bad experience and gave us a very bad impression of Phuket. There is no way the airport transfer should be doing this to unsuspecting arriving tourists. We are not familiar with the place, there is language barrier, and we have luggage with us. How could a limousine service provider not send the guest to his/her direct destination but instead to somewhere “nearby”? That nearby location may be nearby for the driver and locals but cannot expect tourists like us to be equally familiar with the area? This is ridiculous and we would like to warn others to be careful of this company. For information, this company operate from the airport and they have ticketing kiosks outside departure gates.
