Small with weird rules
Mar 2019 • Couples
It is somewhat small for a theatre. Perhaps around 300 pax capacity. But good thing is you can do a bit of shopping at King Power to kill time while waiting for any shows. The weird rule is food and drink are not allowed in the theatre. Food is understandable. But drink is surely strange. You expect people to be in the theatre for like 3 or 4 hours without water or you would just like to see people keep walking in and out to buy water.

No more puppets at all
Dec 2018 • Couples
No more puppet shows at all. We tried to buy tickets online and couldn’t. Went in person to the theatre and there wasn’t anyone there. A man at the store across the aisle said they stopped the shows completely 6 months ago. Not even in the buffet area anymore.

Puppet show at Aksra theatre
Sep 2016
Made a call to the theatre to book tickets for the puppet show. We were told that it includes a buffet for 800 baht. The show is now in the restaurant on a small stage at one end and lasts for maybe 15 minutes. It is no longer held in the Aksra Theatre. Not worth the visit.

Wonderful Acoustics and a super mall
Dec 2015
The Aksara Theate located on Rangnam road.. Ratchathewi is a monument by itself with Thai architecture and minute details taken care of in its construction. Not only does this place look majestic, it is also a shoppers paradise and maintained very well.

Great venue no shows
Oct 2015 • Friends
Beautiful theater, excellent acoustics, seats 600, not a bad seat in the house. Great location a block from Victory Monument. Saw a world-class show (John Mclaughlin), but was disappointed to see that there are virtually no shows planned or advertised there. Would love to see some more music there.

Intriguing
Aug 2014 • Couples
You will see an awesome stage, they combine classical music, orchestral and traditional music. With a variety of interesting attractions, such as dance, puppets typical Thai, drama, dance and other performing arts. Appearance and theater accompaniment music is very intriguing.

The ticket price 800 Baht for adults.

Amazing performance of the Mousetrap
Sep 2013 • Solo
This was my first time at Aksra and I found it hard to get there by taxi because of the hard traffic, to that the theater is in the same building as Tax free shop so it’s very crowded everywhere.
The theater is very cozy and nice, the sound was not high which many was complaining about but for me it was okay, row 4.
It was amazing to see this play from Agatha Christie for it first time here in Thailand, same story but not the same end...
More of this type of plays and I will visit the theater again.

Very Comfy Seat, Not so large Theatre. Moderate Sound system
Aksra Theatre is part of the King Power Complex / Hotel. With lots of parking spaces available. The traffic along that road can be a disaster, if you book the show, spare more than 1 hour to travel. The seat is so comfy, the air-conditioned is set to the comfy temperature.

An awesome performance
560 Baht for a performance which includes traditional thai rod puppet shows for 45min. This covers various traditional Thai dances and scenes from the Ramakien.

The puppets are intricately designed, the stage sets are fantastic and the orchestra (fusion of thai & western instruments) is amazing.

For every 2 tickets purchased, you receive a meal voucher at the nearby Ramayana restaurant. King Power Mall offers free pick up and drop off to independant foreign tourists (excludes organised tour groups).
