Neighborhood: Silom
Despite the lack of any major tourist attractions, this lively neighborhood is a favorite of many. Whether it's the (somewhat naughty) nightlife of Soi Patpong, the various handicraft night markets or the plethora of dining options that tickle your fancy, a night out in Silom is a must on every itinerary. It's worth a stop during daytime, too: join office workers on a quest to tasty street food during lunch and shop at Silom Complex for a great mix of Thai and international stores. After a day of strolling around the congested sidewalks, a visit to Silom's Lumphini Park, Bangkok's answer to NYC's Central Park, is a welcome change of scenery.

Fabulous experience - these guys know what they are doing.

Have done a few cooking classes around the globe in my time - this was a fantastic experience.

Professional, clean cooking school with quality ingredients. Fun and personable Chef/Teacher.

Participants from around the world - a fun way to spend a morning/afternoon.

Thoroughly enjoyable experience and good value for money.

A must do when in Bangkok. Don't waste time anywhere else - Silom is the way to go.

Great little coffee shop next door too....

Delicious, Fun, and Educational

This was an all-around wonderful experience! The structure of the course, and our excellent instructor, made all the recipes approachable. And at the same time, we learned so much about Thai cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques! We also got some tips on substitutes for ingredients that we aren't likely to find in our home country. Not only was the experience tasty and informative, but also very fun. Definitely a highlight of our stay in Bangkok.

One of the best cooking classes I have done!
Feb 2020
I love Thai cooking and wanted to learn some dishes before I went back home. Other cooking classes I have done, the whole class makes different parts of a meal, and you might only work on 1-2 dishes yourself. The brilliance of this class is that each person makes every dish in a serving size of 1, so you get hands-on experience with everything. They do a lot of work behind the scenes to make it very easy so that you do a little bit of prep yourself, then cook, then eat...then on to the next dish. Book early so you can also get into the market tour before the class starts. The instructor, Ming, was high-energy and funny - she really took it from a class to an experience. Will do this again the next time I'm there, as they have at least 2 other menus to try out.

Really fantastic way to get to understand a bit more about Thai cooking and ingredients. Our teacher Toom had an infectious enthusiasm, and made the whole thing relaxed and fun but also informative. The trip to the market was really worthwhile and the explanation of the various ingredients, some unfamiliar, was very useful. We got to eat all of the dishes that we cooked and all were delicious (go there hungry!) The recipe book that we were given at the end is going to get a lot of use. Brilliant value for money and definitely the best thing we have done in Bangkok.

Excellent introduction to Thai cooking
Feb 2020
Even if you just have a passing interest in food or cooking, this is well worth taking 3 hours out of your holiday to learn how to make some classic Thai dishes.
The Silom cooking school is set over 4 floors with each floor having a prep/class room and a seperate wok room, where the actual cooking takes place. When you move between rooms, a team of people turn around the room you've just been in, so that it is ready for the next course, so you don't spend any of the time yourself having to wash up or prep the kitchen area.
Our instructor was Chin, who was very charming and had a good sense of humour.
Her instructions and information were clear and easy to follow and if there were ingredients that I wasn't keen on, then they didn't need to go in.
The school was well maintained and well organised and I would certainly recommend.

Morning cooking class and market visit
Feb 2020
Great experience and good value, the cook took us to the local market about 10 mins walk from the school and gave a very interesting guide to the market and fresh ingredients. Back at the school it's air conditioned, fun, clean and very interesting, the cook showed us 5 dishes that we got to eat and a complimentary cook book after. Highly recommended

Brilliant experience in Bangkok

I recently did the Monday morning cookery class, with a visit to the local market. It was one of my favourite experiences in Bangkok - really fun and I learnt a lot.

We cooked three dishes ourselves - Tom Yum Goong (spicy sour shrimp soup, pad-thai, and chicken green curry - and ate every dish right after cooking it. It was some of the best food I ate in Bangkok - I couldn’t believe I had cooked it! We also watched a demonstration on (and got to eat them too!) how to make laab gai (minced chicken salad) and mango sticky rice. And at the started we learned how to make our own coconut milk from grated coconut, and how to make tamarind paste.

Gee was our instructor and she was funny, patient, encouraging, and an excellent teacher all round. Class size was nice and small, so Gee was able to give us all the appropriate amount of attention.

At the end, we were given a nice recipe book to take away. It included the recipes for everything we had cooked, plus additional recipes from the other classes. The book also contained information about the different ingredients we had cooked with, including helpful photos of them.

The school is in a lovely building and the facilities are excellent - each floor was split into a covered outdoor area with the stoves for cooking, a hand washing area, and an air conditioned room with different areas for preparing the food and eating the food. There were also lockers to store bags. Water was provided, and aprons too.

Considering the amount of food we ate, the cookbook we received and the overall experience, this class was excellent value at 1,000 baht. I’d highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Bangkok!

Great food, wonderful instructor

What a fabulous and interesting time! We learned so much from our instructor Joo. The food is delicious and it was great to learn so much about the culture of Thai food. I wish we would have done this at the beginning of our trip instead of the end!

My only complaint is that our reservation said to meet at a street corner to go to the market together but that didn’t happen. We were almost late because we were standing on the corner waiting for our group. So if you book this, try confirming ahead of time where to meet for the class.

Morning cooking class

We attended this cooking course during our stay in Bangkok. I really appreciated the trip to market where we picked up vegetables, herbs, etc. We got many tips from chef who lead the course. Unfortunately the course is only for 4 hours :) the time was running so fast. We enjoyed the time, had fun and cooked delicous dishes which we also ate. Just one think - some things were prepared (rice, noodles,...) so we did not try everything on 100 % but we got nice recipe book with the step by step explanation so at last it is ok. Finally I definitely recommend this place. Workplace, people everything was perfect :)

Lovely morning with Joo at the cooking school. The session was explained really well and the food we made was delicious. I would highly recommend coming here. All the ingredients were fresh and the place was immaculate.
