We are Bangkok's original award-winning bicycle tour (including walking & boat tours). Our mission at Co van Kessel Bangkok Bike Tours and Boat tours is to provide our guests with a singularly unique and rewarding travel experience in Thailand. All our tours use Co's extensive topographical knowledge of the greater Bangkok area as well as his keen eye for the interesting to take you where nobody else can or will. We aim not to bore you with talk, but to immerse you in an experience where your individual fascinations emerge. Bicycles, boats, and our feet are our tools to gain access to the inaccessible (by car), behind-the-scenes lifestyle of the Thai. Rocket Boat Tour was fantastic

We were a little nervous about cycling, so decided to take the 1:30pm Rocket Boat tour which took us northwards along the Chao Praya river and into the klongs around Nonthaburi. We were so glad we did and even happier to find that we were the only people on the tour.
The rocket boat itself, which we didn't get into until we'd moved away from the main river, was exhilarating and terrific fun as we zoomed up and down the canals. The market we stopped at was authentic with no tourists apart from ourselves.
Totally worthwhile and good value for money.

5 hour bicycle/boat tour

Despite the early start, we really enjoyed this tour. While the tour is over 5 hours, we only spent about 1.5 hours cycling. The boat tour was a lovely way to see some more of Bangkok, we enjoyed seeing the contrast in the buildings as we travelled along the river. The cycle along the plantations was delightful and we really enjoyed the meal at the restaurant before we returned to the city centre.

Great experience

This was my husband's favorite part of our amazing 3 weeks in Thailand! I personally like to refer to it as a knarly experience and I also enjoyed it even though I'm not as comfortable on bikes. Narrow alleys, riding with motorbikes, etc. but still not dealing with busy streets. We got to see several markets and I especially loved the fortune experience at the Wat. Ling Ling was a great guide and we would highly recommend this tour company. We did the 3 hour tour.

A must-do tour when in Bangkok!

That was a really great tour! We only missed some more general tour info about the city, as it was our first day in Bangkok and would have appreciated some interesting facts, tips etc. Other than that, totally worth it and fully recommended!

Organisational and communication skills seriously lacking

To be fair I didn’t actually go on any tour, mainly because of this company’s poor organisation, but that was part of my experience with it.
Anyone thinking of going on a tour with this company should bear in mind that, if you enrol after 7 p.m. in a tour starting early the following day and subject to confirmation, you will not receive any confirmation until the following day, by which time it is too late to organise alternative plans, even though he email reply from the company states that “your booking has been received for review. We will get back to you as soon as possible” - meaning you could be waiting around all evening and the night to know whether you’ll have to get up early for the tour.

Hi, Thank you for your review and sorry to hear about your experience and missing out on our tour. With our small office team we are operating 363 days per year, from 06:00 - 19:00 daily and typically for booking reviews outside office hours untill 21:00 - 22:00. The vast majority of our bookings are automatically confirmed but there is a very small percentage where we manually want to double check to make sure there is a spot left to avoid any Seemingly your booking request was pending review and unfortunately came in outside the hours we were monitoring our inbox that day, sorry! Hoping to connect next time and we really look forward showing you the Real Bangkok!

Wonderful Tour

If you want to meet a load of Dutch people, this tour company is for you!

Perhaps it is no surprise that so many of my tour group today were from The Netherlands given the vast bicycle ownership and dependence on bikes in that country.

However, I am writing this with my tongue firmly in my cheek. Dutch people rock and I loved my day with them and a few Belgians.

Great company. Great bikes. Had a lovely day

Bad experience with boat tour!

We made the longtail boat tour and that turned out to be a disaster! Being a bit older (around 65) we asked, and that was confirmed, that there would be plenty of cushions to sit on to make the ride comfortable. When we arrived at the deck the boat was so old we were afraid it wouldn't stay afloat. It was dirty and brown/black and not painted in ages. There were no life jackets and there were no cushions! Sitting on a wooden plank for 2 hours is really too much! Our guests had back pain until the next day. The guides were OK but I think we missed a lot trying to sit a bit comfortable which we couldn't.
We had a good experience with the bicycle tour last year, that's their specialty and I think they should stick with that. Or start the boat tours when it is all well organized.

Dear Beatrice, Thank you for joining our boat tour and for sharing your experience. Sorry for the miscommunication/misinformation from our office-staff regarding cushions in the longtail-boats and you rsub-optimal experience. Unfortunately the characteristic longtail-boats (similar to Tuk-Tuk's) are set to certain regulations which makes us unable to have our own boats. The longtail-boats are full of character and have been more or less the same in the past decade(s). None of Bangkok's longtailboats are very comfortable or maintained following the standards that we are keeping for our bicycle tours, where we are fully in control. 9 hours tour. Bike, train, boat, snacks, drinks, Thai lunch, sky train. Investment: approx 7.7€/hour, 0.13€/minute. Nicely guided. A lot of information and experiences got. The only problem for some people could be cycling over water cannals at very narrow roads. But, overall, def worth to do it.

Co Van Kessel 3 hour bike tour

Wow what can we say an amazing must do! We have been lucky enough to have done various tours all over the world and this is absolutely in the top 3! Pam was very knowledgeable and friendly and we felt safe at all times. Even in the crazy traffic of Bangkok!

Great way to see the city in a different way!

We took the 3 hour tour, with our 4 year old daughter. It was a great experience for all 3 of us. We were able to see a lot, in a short period and also places which we would not have come across on our own. With our daughter the 3 hour tour was just good. If we would have been on our own, I might have done the longer tour. The bicycles are well equiped for kids, which I found a big plus and the whole staff is so friendly. I recommended them directly to a friend that is going in the following weeks.
