Neighborhood: Thong Lor & Ekamai
Known as Bangkok’s hippest neighbourhood, Thong Lor and Ekamai is where the city's well-dressed and well-heeled spend their nights sipping cocktails in hidden speakeasies and posh restaurants. Live it up in one of Thong Lor's extravagant clubs and be prepared to brush shoulders with a Thai celebrity or two. While great for a night out, the area is nothing short of interesting during the daytime, either. Expect a mix of savvy coffee shops, pop-up bars and loads of vintage stores, brought to you by hip locals with eyes for design.

Great Blues music

I went there last night with a friend and was surprised as to the quality of the band. Great fun music and you can how passionate they are about playing. Its a small place which seems to be in a strange part of Thonglor but once you are inside its all good!
Nice friendly waitress and cheap drinks !

Lovely blue music. The musicians are passionate about their piece. A place just like your neighbourhood. Feel so comfortable and blend your mind into their music. My husband and I are in pub crawl tonight. Nothing But The Blues is our last stop. It’s definitely the best place to end your night. Don’t miss it if you are blue lover.

A bit outside of city's heartbeat but exactly the real place the Blues lover is looking for - simple ambience, great music performance and beer. From thursday to Sunday. Relax and enjoy.

Unpretentious but Blues Bliss

A local friend told us about this easy to miss place about 2.5 km from Thonglor BTS. So on a Friday evening we jumped into a cab and crawled through the soi 55 traffic before we saw this small sign below the bridge on the left indicating we had indeed arrived.
The band Chai and the Bluesmaniacs were playing. They were really good. The restaurant is open from Thursday to Sunday with a different blues band featuring each night from 9 pm onwards. There’s a cover charge of 200 THB but it’s more than made up by the house craft beer worth 160 THB that is given as a welcome drink. The beer is light, smooth and has a lovely flavour to it. The finger snacks that we had ordered were moderately priced and so were the main dishes. But I digress. We came here for the music and were not disappointed in the least. Every member of the band was superb, to say the least. Chai and the crooner stole the show. Shall certainly visit again.

Blues in Bangkok?????
Mar 2018 • Friends
We had a cracking night at the bar and were blown away by the quality of the musicians.
That good in fact that we returned the following night only to be amazed again. Very few people in attendance, which was a pity considering how good the players were.
Owners bent over backwards to make sure we had drinks and were comfortable.
Be definitely be back when I return to Bangkok

Took this American dude back home

I hopped on the back of a motorbike on a Friday night a fortnight back to see the great Chai Blues. I was the first one to step in before meeting friends, ordering a Jack, and watching the place fill up. Place is a wormhole into another dimension; the decor could appear the slightest bit ersatz if you looked too closely, but the upmost respect to attempting to recreate the ambiance one would find back home.

The drink prices are friendly to a drunk's wallet, the staff are super friendly and attentive, and the music ... god damn the music.

Chai lived up to his reputation, and the sultry singer who evoked the Great Lady Day had me all "we're not worthy" in the back corner. The supporting band members were also on point.

Simply put, if you like blues, you like to drink, and you want a good place to do it, you aren't going to do much better than this (at least, not without having to worry when the ferry's stop running).

I'll be back.

Nice staff, Nice crowd and Good Music. Went to a Sunday jam Night. The place Was a little bit hidden and hard to find, but once you get there you're happy That's the case so you don't have too many tourists and people not coming to enjoy music. Recommend anybody wanting something else than the usual un-ts-un-ts bars

A venue that deserves a visit
Nov 2016 • Solo
Looking for something different I decided on going to Nothing but Blues. If you have ever been to a Blues venue in the states, you could not tell the difference either inside or outside. It is a modest venue that seats about 50 people. Finding the place was very easy as it is near the U-turn under the bridge near the north end of Thong-lor. Somehow that location is classic Blues being on the outskirts of Bangkok’s high end entertainment venues.

For myself I am not a big fan of live music with the exception of Blues. The reason for that it is one of the few genres that comes from the heart and soul and there is a story behind every song that you can connect to. That is especially true as we have all suffered the blues at one time or another, and it lets you know you’re not along and having the blues is a rite of passage in life.

The drink prices are very reasonable and they offer a modest selection of pub grub. It is a great place if you like a less busy venue and very good Blues music. Even sitting close to the band you could still have a conversation. In other words, the volume was just right. That makes it great for a date if you enjoy that type of venue.

So I need to give good marks on this. I know it would be a more popular venue if it was 300 to 400 meters closer to the core nightlife area, but don’t let that stop you from going.
