The area
Address
Neighborhood: Sukhumvit
With a mix of shopping malls, hip bars and food stalls lining both sides of Thailand’s longest road, you’ll rarely encounter a dull moment along Sukhumvit. While the main road itself doesn't offer a lot in terms of entertainment, it's the adjoining 'sois' (alleys) where the magic happens. Popular spots are soi 11 for a lively night out, soi 4 for naughty nightlife and soi 21 for world-class shopping at Terminal 21. It's hard to cover everything this area has to offer in on day, so be sure to take your time. Sukhumvit is heavily congested with traffic during day and night, so getting from A to B is most convenient using the BTS Skytrain right above it.

Not open anymore!
Aug 2018 • Family
Unfortunately is Dinosaur planet not open, while their website says it is!
There has been a fire, but we're not entirely sure that's the only reason.
Can be a disappointment if you promise your kids a fun day here, like we did...

Dinosaur Planet in Bangkok a Big Letdown
Oct 2017
Dinosaur Planet Bangkok was a huge letdown. Exhibits were to scale but there was zero atmosphere. The exhibits were in full light of day with no special effects for the children's benefit at all. No seats for the videos that were played at some venues. Food and beverages were minimal and abysmal quality. Souvenirs were almost zero as there were 10,000 souvenirs of the same species dinosaur and no others. Not cost friendly was admission. Way too expensive for what was offered.

Not value
Apr 2018 • Couples
We were passing and thought about going in to see what they were about, but just were turned off by the cost of entry which obviously was pointed towards the tourist market. Not sure when reading their marketing blurb whether it was worth it in our opinion. Even the scenic viewing ferris-wheel type of machine inside had to be paid for after entry cost. Don't think, personally that this was a value for money attraction (but probably a lot of parents would be sucked in to paying to go in by their children)

Permanently Closed

The lease is up on the land after many extensions and now is permanently closed. There will be a new shopping mall taking place, the last thing Bangkok needs is another empty shopping mall.

On 26 April 2018, we went to the Dinosaur Planet. But they are closed and under construction. I ask the man from the gate, he said always close. So we took the photos from outside.

Sadly closed as of April 21 2018
Apr 2018 • Family
We arrived on April 24, and found it was closed. There was a man outside the ticket booth who said it had been closed "a long time". Their website dinosaurplanet.net says it was closed as of April 21, 2018. I couldn't determine if it was closed for renovating or closed permanently. The kids were disapointed, but we went to the planetarium and science museum which is about 15 minutes away by cab. It was nice.

Dinosaur riding
Apr 2018 • Family
Kids will enjoy. Dinosaur riding was very nice for kids. Giant wheel is having a/c for the legs, so we didn't feel the hot weather inside the Giant wheel, and good to take pictures of neighbour buildings. They have a/c mini restaurant. Dinosaurs' head/tail movement was fun. Enjoyed the 7D photo shooting. There was a short movie about dinosaurs.

Pretty Lame
Apr 2018 • Family
My son actually likes it but it is extremely lame especially for the price. 400bhat for kids, 600bhat for adults, you can walk around the park in 5 minutes, there is a Ferris wheel which will cost another 200bhat per person and really should be included as there is not much on offer in the park. An exhibition with some eggs and a few bone specimens, a raptor escape game where you run and hide from a raptor, and a 4D mine ride inside the volcano. At 6:30pm there is a live show which again is really lame, but the young kids under 5-6yo might enjoy it as mine did. Maybe a little scary for those under 3yo. Certainly the kids can enjoy this place but for the price it is very expensive for not a lot of entertainment, wouldn’t recommend.
