Neighborhood: Chatuchak
Every weekend, thousands of tourists make their way up to this Northern Bangkok suburb to get lost in an enormous maze of shops at the Chatuchak Weekend Market. Home to almost 10,000 vendors, you’ll find everything from vintage sneakers to comic books and Thai handicrafts being sold here. You name it, Chatuchack probably sells it. The market is a great place to pick up souvenirs, but be sure to bargain for a good price. After a day of shopping and strolling around, the lush green lanes of Chatuchak Park are a welcome relief.

Good Food!
Oct 2021 • Family
We went to the market for lunch. There are many Thai foods at the market. The foods were good. The fresh fruits are expensive. The Thai Desserts were delicious. It was very busy on weekends. The parking was hard to find.

One of the best wet markets around

I have read somewhere that OTK market is among the best in the world. When you visit you will understand why it deserves this moniker. Aside from being clean, the vendors take great pride in product display. They frown on you handling the produce unnecessarily. Not really a place for bargaining.

Amazing market for local produce n foods
Jan 2020 • Friends
Took BTS Sukumvit line to Mo Chit, change to MRT 1 stop arrived at OTK market.

Great selection of local fruits beautifully presented - hamper, shelf displays.
Thai curries with rice ( aka chap chye png) on sale too for takeways. There's also a food centre within the market where you can savour wide variety of curries, roasted meats, traditional local desserts.
Amazing choice, clean affordable.

Preserved seafoods, my fave dried shrimps with chilli aplenty, spoilt for choice.
There's even a very traditional Thai dessert shop, beautifully created, nice looking, colourful n sweet too.

We bought some Thai rempah - massaman, red, yellow pastes. Well sealed, brought home for LNY... Mangoes are not cheap but of high quality, nicely packed for air travel.

Or Tor Kor market - a must visit for foodies, forget the weekend Chatuchak.

A clean dry market
Dec 2019
The market is about 10 minutes drive by taxi from Pratunam area. The market is new, dry and clean and spacious. It is easy to move around and very cooling unlike Chachuchat market. They have many sections selling from organic, local delicacies and snacks, fruits, drinks, food stalls and a small clothing section. We tried some local food for lunch and its cheap and tasty. We also bought some fruits, like passion fruits and pessimons, which are juicy and sweet. One should visit this market for the foods and local delicacies but if you are looking for clothes, this is not the place.

Local market showcase for the tourists
Dec 2019 • Family
Both locals probably the richer ones and tourists mount on this place as it is fairly clean and organized. Not too crowded and has varieties of cooked & raw food, snacks, groceries and even clothings/accessories. Recommended for a 1-2 hour walking and cafe experience. For those who needed air conditioning during hot weather there are some cafe inside and at the side of this big market, for a cuppa and rest.

Authentic local Thai market.
Dec 2019 • Friends
No tourists, so you know you are getting the real experience here by either shopping or eating. Raw foods, dry goods, even a small section of for a food court. Recommended for those with a little bit of adventure. A couple of Thai buffets as well as some small street food vendors. The place is known for its immaculate cleanliness if that is your concern.

Clean but expensive
Dec 2019 • Family
The market was clean and organized. Stalls were organized in a way similar to Singapore’s hawker Centre and market. Prices more on the high side. Easy to move about and find a table to dine in.

Super clean!

Love this market! Clean and organized. One thing that amazed me is that you cannot smell the strong scent of Durian even though you are surrounded by it.

Plain-looking but filled with good treats
Dec 2018
This market is often missed by many people who would rather opt for the nearby Chatuchak Market, but they don't know what they are missing here.

The Or Tor Kor Market is a simple market that does not have any fancy decorations nor Instagrammable spots, but offers a lot of local treats.

For those who are adventurous, you can even try out different parts of the pig like the ears and the neck. There are even durian stalls (so many of them!) for you to take your pick at the King of Fruits. Come here if you wish to try out the local flavours that are not influenced by the Western tourist market.

To get here, take the BTS to Mo Chit Station and walk over to the Chatuchak Park MRT Station. Then take the MRT to Kamphaeng Phet Station and take exit 3 to find the market.
