Every weekend, thousands of tourists make their way up to this Northern Bangkok suburb to get lost in an enormous maze of shops at the Chatuchak Weekend Market. Home to almost 10,000 vendors, you’ll find everything from vintage sneakers to comic books and Thai handicrafts being sold here. You name it, Chatuchack probably sells it. The market is a great place to pick up souvenirs, but be sure to bargain for a good price. After a day of shopping and strolling around, the lush green lanes of Chatuchak Park are a welcome relief.

- genibre69London, United Kingdom5,452 contributionsGreat place to wanderThis place is great. I actually went to Chatuchak after and glad I went to Or Tor Kor Market first. It’s far less frenetic and there are great stalls with fruit and veg I’ve never seen. Plus plenty of cheap eats. I actually enjoyed here more than Chatuchak.Visited November 2023Traveled soloWritten November 22, 2023
- lbeadles1Cambridge, United Kingdom36 contributionsA must visit!Should be on the top 10 list of places to go. We got the express train from Siam to Saphan Khwai and walked (about 5mins). It is open during the week. It was quiet with very few tourists and clean and large with a range of different vendors. The dried mango is amazing along with the mangosteen. We took a table amongst all the other people eating and ate a range of food from different vendors which was all delicious and reasonably priced. The most expensive was around 100THB. My children loved it, said it was the best food they had eaten in Bangkok and I completely agreed.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten December 28, 2023
- Samantha G10 contributionsFresh and Fancy MarketOr Tor Kor Market in Bangkok really stands out for its cleanliness and organization. It's smartly divided by product types, which makes navigating through the market quite easy. This market is particularly known for its high-quality, fresh produce. You'll find an excellent selection of fruits, vegetables, and seafood here. However, you should be aware that the prices are a bit higher than what you might expect in typical Bangkok markets. For example, mangos and mangosteens are priced higher here compared to other local markets. The market is also a great spot for tourists looking to get a taste of Thai food culture. There's a wide range of Thai food products available, perfect for those who want to buy small quantities or pick up some processed foods as souvenirs. There's a food court as well, but it's worth noting that prices here are slightly higher than other local eating options.Visited December 2023Traveled with familyWritten February 16, 2024

This market is a must-visit! You'll get to experience the ultimate shopping extravaganza with high-quality products sourced from all over the country. We have exceptionally large and special fruits from various regions of the country. Besides, there are fresh vegetables, seafood, and items from the 'One Tambon, One Product' (OTOP) project to choose from. But that's not all; there are also interesting dining facilities and souvenir shops here. It's the ultimate destination for shopping enthusiasts and quality seekers. We highly recommend you come and enjoy the clean and comfortable atmosphere. While some prices may be slightly higher, you'll definitely find value in the high-quality products here!

Wow what a beautiful market where you can get all types of veggies and exotic fruits. Although it's not cheap but if you want any types of fruits even if not in season you can get it here. Just take MRT to kamphaeng phet exit 3 and you are there.

The market is about 10 minutes drive by taxi from Pratunam area. The market is new, dry and clean and spacious. It is easy to move around and very cooling unlike Chachuchat market. They have many sections selling from organic, local delicacies and snacks, fruits, drinks, food stalls and a small clothing section. We tried some local food for lunch and its cheap and tasty. We also bought some fruits, like passion fruits and pessimons, which are juicy and sweet. One should visit this market for the foods and local delicacies but if you are looking for clothes, this is not the place.

I have read somewhere that OTK market is among the best in the world. When you visit you will understand why it deserves this moniker. Aside from being clean, the vendors take great pride in product display. They frown on you handling the produce unnecessarily. Not really a place for bargaining.

Came here after visiting Chatuchak Weekend Market. Lots of local and imported fruits can be found here. Durians, mangosteens, "dragon eye" longan are the must try. Some had suggested that its not the cheapest but it is definitely the most convenient. You can visit Chatuchak at the same time. MRT Kamphaeng Phet is the station.

This is the best food store located about a 5-minute walk from Chatuchak Market. They have 3 fresh produce items, but I think the main focus is on fruit. I recommend the dried fruits, which are a good deal compared to other stores.
I bought some tamarind and ginger.
There is also a food court, so you can take a break while shopping.

I came with some Thai friends who grew up in Bangkok. Their mom came her to do her shopping for fresh produce, and now I can see why. It has to be one of my favorite open air fresh markets in Thailand if not the world. Amazing fruit and produce, all fresh, perfect and ready to use!

Is Or Tor Kor just recently relocated near Chatchuchak market?
Written November 13, 2023
Is Or Tor Kor market open during Songkran 2018 and if so are the food vendors (breakfast/lunch) still there?
Written March 19, 2018
The malls are sure to be opened, but as for markets maybe certain vendors will chose to close their shops.
Written March 26, 2018
Actually if you want to just look around, then half an hour is enough. However, if you want to check the fruits out and try a few varieties plus eat some cooked to order Thai food in addition to some dessert then you might have to wait in line if you come during lunch time. That might take about an hour and a half or at the most 2 hours. It really all depends on you. It's not a very big market.

How do I get there on public transport & what are the hours & days it operates please!
Written December 11, 2016
Take the MRT (tube/subway) and alight at Kamphaeng Phet station (the station after Chatuchak) - look for the directions to Farmers' Market. The MRT exit is next to OTK. I usually go there for late breakfast (11am) - seems like they open from morning till mid/late afternoon and 7 days a week.

Can I buy artificial plants at this market or in the Orchid market attached?
Written October 22, 2016
Or Tor Kor is a fresh food market but occasionally you find people selling other thing like artificial plants. I think it's best to go to Chatucak. There are lots of stores there that sells artificial plants. Happy shopping.
