Ale’s tour of Taipei’s historic center was the highlight of our visit to Taipei!!! Honestly , in our decades of traveling, this was the best guided tour we have ever had the good fortune to participate in!! Ale is very warm , welcoming , knowledgeable and a joy to spend the day with and learn from. We were amazed how she taught us the complex history of Taiwan through its many colonializations to now , in a clear, interesting and deeply felt way that helped us deeply understand and feel connected to Taiwans’s people! We especially appreciated Ale’s recognition of how Taiwan has become increasingly inclusive of LGBTQ and other communities.
Thanks for everything Ale!!

The free walking tour was an amazing experience. Even though on the day it was raining, we were still able to visit all the sights intended for the tour plan. Our tour guide James was probably the best tour guide I have ever come across, especially for a free walking tour. The group was quote big, however, James himself was quite resonant, and we could hear him very well. Also a great funny and enthusiastic guide, he easily gets a 5 star rating from me. I'm not sure if it's different for each guide, but he did take us to an ice cream shop, which is hidden away upstairs, most likely difficult to find for tourists. But if he does take you there, definitely try out the custard apple ice cream flavour, a bit pricey, but worth the buy (also dairy free for all your lactose intolerant peeps).

Don't be shy, as you'll also meet many other people from around the world as well, and make travel friends, or maybe even lifelong friends!

Not a Tour to miss..Marc (our guide) is extremely knowledgeable on Taiwanese cuisine and street food venders. I learnt a lot with his tour. Be prepared to eat a lot. Towards the end I could not eat anymore....I highly recommend this tour and the Pub Crawl. Both worth the spend and experience

We went on the Old Town Walking Tour with James. This was not our first visit to Taipei but our first as a tourist.James was GREAT!
He was entertaining, educational and engaging and the group of us had a wonderful time.He was passionate yet personal in walking us through this country’s past and present.
Not expecting to learn anything,I actually left the tour with so much.
Thank you James!

Out tour guides were very friendly and informative. They made sure to talk to everyone and answer further questions if we had any. They were effective in making sure everyone in the group felt comfortable. We really had a great time in the Old Tapei Walking Tour.

We did the old town tour, and it were 2.5h well spent. Our guide Mo was very knowledgeable, with a perfect English, so he was easy to understand. The explanations and stories about history and places were all very interesting. He knows also a lot and could answer all of our questions. Highly recommended!

The duration of our tour was ~3hours. We learned a lot about Taiwan history. We’ve visited Peace 228 park, President’s building, food markets and pedestrian streets. I’d suggest to add more details about the life in Taipei in this excursion.

Joined Peggy for a private tour of lantern making and walk to see the Shifen Waterfalls. Learned about the area and laughed a lot. Peggy was super knowledgeable and really fun. Despite the rain, we had a great day and witnessed nature's beauty first hand. Highly recommend this tour for families and those wanting to get out of the city but not go too far. The length of time was perfect. Thanks to Peggy for finding us some authentic Taiwanese food where the locals go too.

Nothing is very far from anything else in Taipei, which makes it a great place for walking. The National Taiwan University Hospital MRT Station adjoins the notable 2-28 Peace Memorial Park. The Zhongshan area abounds in places of interest, including the Presidential Office, which dates from the Japanese colonial era (1895-1945). This walking tour will help orient you and after all, it's free.

I went on the Chill Taipei walking tour. They shared interesting information about the city and the culture. Didn't really go too far in-depth on anything in particular but they introduced us to some cool neighborhoods, history and it was free. Definitely get that scallion pancake from the street vendor with the long line.
