The climb to the visitors info center was abt 25 mins. Most info in chineses and buses around too. Not easy to walk as it takes 1 to 2 hours walk to diff sights. Many sights pleasant and nothing to shout about. Warning only friendly for chinese speakers. I got by becos my other half reads Chinese.

We took a half day trip from Taipei to see some of the country. This was a good 4 hour trip in total and we will go back and do some hiking next time. The volcanic vents are interesting, the hot springs genuinely pretty (although commercialised) and our driver Jackie Chan, funny and had good English.

Relatively close to Taipei - you'll need a full day to explore the many areas of the park. Beautiful grassy meadows, the famous flower clock, waterfalls & rain forested areas, mountain tracks, and seeing the volcanic gasses emanating from the hillsides! If you really want to see something magical, go during Sakura season. This is usually in Feb.

This place is seriously mind blowing and once in a life time opportunity. I really regret not staying longer but had to go since it was raining so heavy. The scenery is just so breathtaking it is almost like a movie scene. It was raining like crazy so couldn't take any photos :(. But its a very memorable place. How... More

I spent half a day hiking up Yangmingshan national park with a friend. It is easily accessible by public transport. Thankfully the weather was fantastic when I went. The hike was moderate it difficult with quite a few steep hills but the view at the peak was totally worth it! Highly recommended!

There are countless little hikes that one could take. Wether you start at the steps in Tienmu (if you want the real thrill of climbing all the way up) or if you take the bus to all the locations, it's beautiful, challenging, and worth all the time spent getting there (which is not a lot since it's so close to... Even though this is a tourist spot I would still recommend those who visit taipei to dropby especially on a cold season. The air is so beautiful and the view is breath taking! We rented a coach up there for a walk around the park and it was very enjoyable!

We stayed there for just 5 hours. Havent finished all the stop. This place is so natural. A big area to take a deep breath. We went there at the morning around 9am so its quite quiet, not crowded, better than midday as its gonna be so hot! So recommend to go in early morning ( this season ) There... More

Nice morning activity walking through the impressive rock formations. There is a nice walk to the end where Taiwan's most beautiful light house is hidden. It is lovely.

A lovely bus ride to the park and very enjoyable day out. Can be a little cold but a very memorably activity in Taipei. One of the highlights in the 4 weeks I spent there.
