I'm a long-time Taipei resident and this is my favorite night market. It can get slightly crowded when people set up stands in the middle of the street, but it's much better than the tourist mania of Shilin Night Market, and definitely more "real." You're spoiled for variety and choice in terms of food, and it tends to be better... More

Lots of clothing shops that are a bit nicer quality but higher prices. Lots of food option too. This is a little further to walk from the MRT station, about a 10 min walk from Xinyi Station. But there a lots of shops along the way as well as this is in the nicer part of the city near 101.

It is quite small compared to the others but it has not so much repetitive stalls. Went to try the bbq bamboo juice with ginger, sausages, squid noodles, fried potato with sour plum powder and the awesome egg tarts. I guess it really is worth it if you are around the area or finish climbing the elephant hills from watching... More

Small market with all the best food. GrB a bunch of beer from a local convenience store and sit down at your favourite stall. We had a blast with the owner and the food is made on the spot. I miss it spoon much!

If you come to Taiwan and don't come to night market?? YOU ARE TOTALLY MISSING OUT!!!! There are many different night markets in Taipei. Tonghua Night Market is my favorite. Lots of food, shops and did I mention FOOD? Please please please come hungry!! Don't even think of eating dinner before you come to night market because you will regret... More

Love night markets and this one although small was excellent for street food. Unlike a number of night markets I've been too, this place was clean, not too packed (mainly locals and I would say only a handful of tourists) and the stall owners were friendly and polite. Regretted having dinner before coming, otherwise would have been trying out even... More

We went to this market because it was within walking distance from our hotel (Taipei 101 neighbourhood). It's rather small when compared to other night markets in Taipei but we found everything we were looking for: flavorsome and cheap fresh fruit juices, fried mushrooms, spring onion pancake (the best!), taro and sweet potato balls, taro / pineapple / red bean... Came here to get the "cultural experience" of a Taipei night market. People say this is the best one, so we had to see it. I don't know if this is the best one, but this is one of the biggest one. I honestly have not idea what makes this the best one. I'm no Taiwan expert, but I have... More

This is no doubt the most underrated night market in Taipei. The night market is definitely shorter and smaller than most other markets and can be completed in less than an hour. However, most stalls there will be what you find in other more crowded night markets so you still get to try the food without the crowd. The market... More

This market is smaller than Shilin market. It seems less geared toward tourists. It has a number of food stalls selling local eats and drinks. Nice shops lining the streets. Not overly crowded and within walking distance from our hotel.
