Very local

There aren't many tourists there, and unlike Japanese temples, there are acutal rituals going on, so you might feel like an uninvited guest.

A nice temple but overshadowed by Longshan. Lots of locals use it and it felt very authentic but if you're pushed for time just go Longshan.

This temple is clearly at the centre of the local community and is predictably busy, though still very peaceful. It's a beautiful building and has some incredible decorations.

A unique temple with very intricate carvings. Can get quite crowded. If you stay at Golden China Hotel, it is only 5 minutes away!

A wonderful temple, loved by the locals. They do healing here and also religious study. The buildings are beautiful and the place itself is tranquil and not as crowded as some of the other places we visited.

I visit Hsing Tian Kong every time when I am in Taipei. It is a temple devoted to Guan Yu. The temple offers a very special service to visitors: Shoujing. Other religious services are available as well.

We found this to be a place of learning and serious contemplation. They do not allow the burning of incense here so it is a cleaner atmosphere. It is also a very active temple and, we are told, a place to see and be seen. It is close to the Metro but there are also plenty of cabs in the... More

Imagine a temple hundreds of years old in the middle of a city! This is it and it is still open to the public to worship, that's Cool. The intricate carvings and sculptures are amazing. Spend some time here and literally look into the past!

Compared to many temples I visited before, Hsing Tian Kong still left me deep impression for some details, It's quiet and clean. No fire and ash. The place for pray is very clean. People there are devout prayers.
