When I came to Taipei in September 2016, the place was closed up for refurbishment so there is pretty not much to look at aside from scaffolding and trucks. Would try to visit here on my next trip and see how it is like once they open up.

Nothing pleases me more than seeing a county so proudly showcasing their local products. It might be a little touristy but hey, everything in there is quirky and original (there's even soap for pets in the shape of paws!). Our favourite was, of course, the cat-themed shop with cute stickers, totes and ceramics. I think it's called 5 Minutes!

While you're in Ximending, definitely pop over to the Red House to appreciate it's architecture. It's a beautiful example of the Japanese colonial style seen throughout Taiwan, mainly in its old capital down south, Tainan. There's not much going on inside the building though - a few random stalls run by uni students - so not really worth peeking in... More

As of September 2016, the octagonal Red House is undergoing major renovation, so all there is to see is tarpaulins and scaffold. The surrounding boutiques and cafes are all open for business and seem as lively and busy as ever, but you won't see the Red House itself.

Went here at night and it was okay to take some pictures of, preferred all of the bars around the back though!

Red house itself was getting a facelift while I was there. Stalls were usual craft, clothes and candles. Nice for walking around in AC

I was expecting some sort of a museum but instead saw specialty and art stores inside. Each store has very unique merchandise mostly arts and crafts, and novelty items.

Visited a watering hole in this stretch. Interesting names for many of the drinks. We ordered a few drinks to share and most tasted fine. A place to people watch and chill out.

I was there at 9.30am, no open yet. I think is more happening at night as I see some pub just located right at the back of the building. 我早上8.30到, 还没开。
