Old street

Many old style houses. Some of them are converted into shops. Look so different in the day and evening.

A narrow alley sided with old houses with various styles, some masked in chic and modern decor while others retaining charming historical flavors. Visit twice during daytime and in the evening respectively and was always captivated by its distinct allure.

In my opinion, this is one of the best places in Tainan. i liked the atmosphere and also the temples around this area. We went in a monday evening so there were not so many people around but still, it was very nice. There are a lot of tiny shops with fun stuff and if u go by day take... More

Clean, fashionable little street with some cute shops and cafes. Nice Tainan atmosphere. Nice place for a leisurely stroll.

Travelers said this street is a must-visit; history aficionados maintained it is a walk of tradition. Too many "people said", now it's "I say." I say it's a walk. A walk lets you peek into the new and the old; the traditional and the modern; the young and the old. It happens when the sun sets and streetlights quietly burst... More

It was confusing to locate as most local don't pay much attention to street like this, it's much better atmosphere at night than during the day...more Japanese feel than Chinese!

It is a cool, hipster, old street to visit. It is not very long, so it does not take you more than maybe 30-40 minutes, except if you stay to have a drink at one of the cool cafés. It is good to visit during the day as well as in the evening.

This was my second trip to Tainan City and I absolutely loved the night lights of Shennong Street, maybe because it's the Christmas period and the lights were extremely beautiful. Here you can find several gift shops selling nice crafts/souvenirs you can bring back and food places. It's a great substitute if you want to skip or have already visited... More

Was on the way catch a direct bus 88 to AnPing (Sunset Observatory) so while waiting for it, decided to take a quick walk down Shennong Street. Some interesting looking cafe/restaurant and small quirky stores selling accessories. There seems to be a popular ice cream stall at the corner of the street. Nonetheless, good phototaking pitstop.

It's nice to walk till the end of this street and then find some temple relics. It was rainy when I was here. I think it is awesome to visit at night.
