Everest Base Camp trek 29th May - 10th June 2024:
Polar Trekking & Expedition Pvt. Ltd organised this trek for our party of six. One of our party had used Polar Trek previously when in Nepal and was very positive about them, so we contacted them a few months in advance to arrange. They were extremely helpful providing a detailed itinerary and associated costs, and communicating with us both by email and WhatsApp calls to finalise the trip.
Once in Kathmandu, a few days before the start of our trek, Amit came to the hotel to introduce himself and Lila (our trek guide), to ensure we had the proper equipment and to go through the travel arrangements.
On the trek start day we flew from Kathmandu to Lukla and after a short rest there we started our trek!
Lila and the three porters who accompanied us were absolutely brilliant in ensuring that the trek pace was not too hard, that we had the right foods (such as garlic soup!) to help with altitude problems and giving information on the amazing sights we passed along the way. The accommodation chosen by them throughout was also of a high standard.
Around day 2 of the trek, as we climbed higher, one of our group started feeling unwell due to altitude sickness. Lila and Dany (one of the porters) tried their best to help him, including massage and advice on food and drink. Unfortunately at day 4 he got worse and it was decided to take him back down and Lila liased with Amit to arrange a helicopter to pick him up and return him to Kathmandu.
The rest of us carried on with much encouragement from Lila and his team until we reached Everest Base Camp on day 8 to a feeling of great achievement!
In conclusion we thoroughly recommend Polar Trek for their high quality of service and professionalism. During this arduous trek we all felt safe and secure, we were well looked after and felt respected by their team. If the occasion ever arises, we would definitely use them again.

We worked with Amit and the team at Polar Trekking & Expedition for three years, culminating in an unforgettable 12-day trek to Everest Base Camp which we started on October 1st. Throughout our planning and during the trip, Amit was incredibly accommodating, seamlessly adjusting our itinerary to meet our needs without any hesitation.
The entire team—from management to the guides—did an outstanding job organizing and managing every aspect of the trek. Their dedication ensured that each of us had a safe and enjoyable experience. We truly cannot thank Amit and the team enough for making this an epic adventure!"

I returned to Nepal after many years and trekked in the Annapurna region once again. I did my first track without the help of a guide but chose to comply with Nepal’s new guide requirements. I also felt that hiring a guide might ensure a richer experience and eliminate headaches. I was right. Uttam proved to be a knowledgeable and competent guide who is easy to talk to he inspired trust as both a person and as a guide. He certainly is not new to the game and knew what he was doing. I overestimated my fitness for this track and did some foolish overpacking. Uttam saved the day by carrying some of my gear. He also made the experience much richer with his knowledge of the trails, fauna and flora and the mountain communities. The trek would have been a much poorer experience without him.
I enjoyed Uttam’s company and trusted him completely. When I return, I will ask for Uttam again and will recommend Polar and Uttam to anyone planning a trek. The cost is reasonable and more than worth it.
I recommend Polar and Uttam without hesitation.

Myself and my partner (both in our 70s) did the Mardi Himal trek from Pokhara over 5 days at the beginning of April. We had the most wonderful experience which was made particularly special by our guide, Min and Porter Sum. The climb was challenging, but Min and Sum made sure we stopped when necessary and never made us feel we were being too slow. The walk up through rhodedendron forests was fabulous and beautiful and the guest houses we stayed in very comfortable and we enjoyed meeting outher trekkers. We also loved the descent through farmland to Kalimati, through terraced farms growing corn, tea, rice and wheat. The whole trip was really well organised and we were given good advice on what to take with us before we left. I recommend Polar Trekking very highly and especially our guide, Min, who was very knowledgeable, kind and friendly and Sum, who seemed never to stop smiling!

Last month, I traveled to Nepal with a strong desire to trek in the Himalayas, but I was unsure which trek to choose, especially since I was traveling alone.
I had the chance to meet Amit, who provided me with the best advice and recommendations based on what I wanted to explore within the time I had.
I decided on the Annapurna Circuit Trek and was accompanied by Lila, who made the experience unforgettable!
Lila taught me so much, and thanks to him, I completed the trek without any issues, my heart and mind filled with wonderful memories. He is a highly competent, knowledgeable and helpful guide, and his company made the trek much more enjoyable. Lila ensured each day in the mountains was memorable and selected the best places for us to stay.
I highly recommend booking a trek with Polar Trekking and requesting Lila as your guide!
Having done a lot of hiking, I can confidently say that this was my best experience by far!
Thank you for such an amazing adventure and I look forward to the next one!

we took the everest base camp trek with Bam (Tamang) and Dawa sherpa. both of them tango-ed really well (both playing their roles very well) and catered to our requests as well.
one good example - we want to descend from lobuche to lukla in 2 days, and Bam agreed to that post checking with Dawa sherpa, who was obviously doing the heavy lifting of our excess items. i felt that was a very nice gesture and that extended to how Bam treated us. For us, it is how upfront Bam was, telling us the things to look out for, the constraints he is working with and discussed with us before making any decision. at the end of the day, when you’re overseas, you do not want someone who’s dishonest. Bam and Dawa were both great in this aspect. we truly appreciated it.
side note - Dawa is an amazing sherpa, shy but always happy to greet us. it’s nice and warm being around him.

I can highly recommend this trekking company for several reasons;
- Great, professional communication
- Amazing service from beginning to end
- Skilled trekking guide with sufficient experience and good English language; he kept us safe and comfortable through the whole trek
- they can adjust the itinerary during the trek according to the group's physical condition and desires
We had the most amazing time doing the Annapurna Circuit for 11 days through this company!

We had an amazing excursion that involved taking a jeep from Pokhara to Ghorepani, staying in a lodge overnight, and taking a sunrise hike up to Poon Hill. We did not have time in our schedule to do the trek from town but I would love to return some day to trek and would use this guide service again. They were also very helpful in setting up a paragliding experience for us.

We had an amazing 4 days, we did the Poonhill tracking. This is perfect for not experienced hikers. It was our first time in Nepal & our first time hiking.
Nabin is the best guide! He had a lot of patience, was really helpfull and was a lot of fun to hike with.
Definitely would recommend to book with Polar Trekking for hiking and ask for Nabin as a guide:)

Three of us went to Australian camp with our guide Lila. It was such a relaxing and pleasant experience. Lila shared so much knowledge about the country, the mountains, the local customs, and he knew exactly which restaurant to take us to on the way out!
Lila has so much experience that he inspired me to plan many more ambitious treks to Nepal. This company was excellent from beginning to end. I highly recommend them!

Most agencies in Pokhara quoted us a cost of between $50-$60... inclusive of food, drinks, permits, guide and transport.

Hello! Namaste.
I'm travelling to Nepal from the 16th to the 20th - on the 17th morning I plan to fly from Kathmandu to Pokhara.
Can you recommend a 1 day trek from where I could see the Himalayas or Mt Everest please? My elderly mother will be travelling with me, she will not be able to do the trek, can you suggest a guided easy tour for us on the next day?
Thank you so much,
Nimi

Namaste Nimi! Most of the treks that I saw were for multiple days. One thing that you can do in one day and get a great view of Annapurna is to hike up to the World Peace pagoda while in Pokhara. A guide isn’t totally necessary but you might want to find someone to row the boat for you guys. It takes about and hour to hike up to the pagoda and is well worth it. Hope this helps and you have a great trip!
