We had an excellent 2-night, 3-day trek from March 25-27, 2021 with Ram as our guide and Mr. Happy accompanying us. When we first approached Happy Treks to inquire about a trek, we had no idea where we should go and only had a handful of days available to us. Mr. Happy spent more than an hour going over our options with us and clearly outlining the costs, routes, and what we could expect from the different possibilities. With this information in mind, we were able to choose a route that gave us great views of the Himalayas at a medium difficulty level. After passing through many beautiful mountain villages, we arrived at the Australian Camp where we spent our first night. We were rewarded with incredible views of the Himalayas both during the trek and at sunrise the first morning. Our second night was spent at Panchase Bhanjyang which would have given us more incredible views had it not been for the haze brought in from the South. We were fortunate to enjoy great views on the way to our second teahouse, so we took our time to admire the enormity of the mountains as we steadily made our way to our destination. We were completely spoiled on this trek with delicious food, excellent accommodation, and fantastic company. Ram and Mr. Happy are very service-oriented and made sure we never went long without a yummy snack and cup of tea/coffee. They were always ready to help us carry our belongings, take a photo for us, and provide us with information on the relevant mountains and villages. They made sure we moved at a pace comfortable for us while answering our endless questions about Nepali culture, customs, and norms. At the end of our three-day trek we had our final meal together at Mr. Happy’s home prepared by his very talented wife. The food and ice cream were delicious, and we were very honoured to have been invited into their home. We highly recommend Happy Treks Nepal to anyone looking for an authentic mountain experience. From the time of booking to the moment we were dropped at our hotel after the trek, we were taken care of with the utmost attention. Mr. Happy and our guide Ram made us feel very comfortable, especially when it came to COVID-19 safety. They were both very conscious of using hand sanitizer regularly, and always before and after meals. They were also great about wearing masks when we were in vehicles together and we all took precautions to maintain social distance during our time together. If we have an opportunity to trek in the area again, we will definitely be returning to Happy Treks!

I really couldn’t recommend Happy Treks any higher.! My wife and I are not long back from a 4-day trek, including Poon Hill, with Happy Treks and thoroughly enjoyed every minute. From the moment we originated contact with Mr. Happy we found him extremely professional and flexible to ensure an itinerary was built around our requests. We maintained regular dialogue on essential items, timings and the plan which was very re-assuring. Mr Happy and the team met us at Pokhara airport and after a brief meeting in the office, we were up in the Himalayas. Our guide, Salik, and porter were very competent, knowledgeable and were great company despite knowing that we were likely their last customers for a long time during what would be a peak period due to the global COVID-19 pandemic. Salik always made us feel safe throughout and went out of his way to make our trip unforgettable – I can’t express just how hard these guys work and how courteous they are. We found that the standard of accommodation chosen on our treks was above and beyond expectation, especially in terms of quality of food and amenities. There’s no greater pleasure that a hot shower and a plate of freshly made momos after a day of 7hrs trekking though snow, sun and rain! You'll find the food menus in the restaurants are very similar but that doesn't mean the quality is - also many trekking companies restrict their guests to the same food every day whereas we enjoyed the freedom of the menu. Overall, the value for money was insane. The trek itself was fantastic – if we did it again, we’d chose a slightly more challenging route but in the time restriction that we had, we were lucky to enjoy breathtaking views and escape in the culture of the mountains. It’s so surreal being in such a remote part of the world and at such at such altitude – the locals and vendor were so welcoming and friendly. I’ve wanted to visits the Himalayas for so long and it really didn’t disappoint. Couple of tips if you’re making the trip: 1.) Be sure to choose Happy Treks 2.) Be sure to buy a good pair of crampons that properly fit your walking boots before you depart 3.) Be sure to take local currency 4.) Be sure to pack light – we gave our porter a 70L bag but saw some porters carrying several back packs on their back, their front and their heads which is simply inhumane. We felt our crew to from Happy Treks to be our friends and wouldn’t wish to treat them with such disrespect! Thank you again to Salik who ensured we had the perfect trip ... next time we're back I just hope you improve your snowball accuracy ;)
