We hired a taxi for the afternoon to visit the temple as well as Sarankot and the Mountain Museum. Unfortunately the weather was cloudy so what would have been an amazing view from the temple was rather dull instead. The temple looks impressive, pity though...More

The nice stuctured Buddist Temple is standing on the top of a hill with the greatest view to Fewa lake and Pokhara city. Nice area and beautiful temple too. It is not included in main touristic visits because buses can not reach it. Only small...More

A lovely quiet contemplative place. We went up the majority of the way by taxi as it is quite a good hike to get here otherwise. However you still have a decent climb up steps to get to the stupa, hence not good if you...More

We crossed Fewa Lake by boat, then trekked all the way up. The view at the top is awesome. You can choose to descend from the same way or another way that takes you to David's falls, which we did. On the way down we...More

If bikes can go the other way, follow that path and you may find a carry bike of some sort. Don't go the way we hiked. The other way is safer for your friend. Have a great holiday in Pokrah

Hi HeleN Some thoughts: 1) KTM Durbar Square is the nearest major attraction to Thamel. It's within walking distance and would take maybe 20 to 30 minutes, a cycle rickshaw ride there could be a little bit of fun. Between Thamel and DS is Kathesimnbu Stupa, a replica of Swayambunath Stupa in a small courtyard that is a wee peaceful escape from the bustle of Thamel (assuming children are not playing football). The Garden of Dreams is also peaceful for a pleasant stroll around the garden...More

Hi guys! Im going to Nepal for 6 days, this is my proposed itinerary, any feedback on alterations or if you feel its too ambitious, please let me know as I have no idea at all! BTW not into the whole hiking thing, but if you insist that any light trekking is a necessity, please advise!! :) Also no need for Chitwan, I'm from Africa, I see wild animals everyday in my back yard. Day 1: fly into KTM, fly directly to Pokhara, enjoy a spa afternoon (I'm coming from far ;) ) dinner, shopping and...More

Dear Fellow Travellers, I need some advice on my travel itinerary whether it’s achievable or not since its my first trip overthere. I will be coming down to Kathmandu on 25.10.2012 for a 5 nights. Logistic wise planning to hire a car with driver to take us around. Where can I look up for a car and driver information for hire, since I am thinking or prearranging before I arrive in Kathmandu so that I can kick off my tour once I land or else I have to be looking around when I arrive which...More

The itinerary is fine but you have included many sights specially in Kathmandu to visit. I think it will be difficult to see all the sights you mentioned of Kathmandu but of course it's not unacceptable. You can visit all those places mentioned in your plan but you won't have time to observe all those things deeply. Day 01 is fine. You can include Patan and Bhaktapur on your plan and drive to Nagarkot. That won't be so difficult and I would suggest you to sleep in Nagarkot that night. There...More
