About
Purna Yoga & Treks (also known as Nepal Yoga Trek) is a pioneer of yoga trekking tours in Nepal. Many people come to Nepal to experience the beauty and magic of trekking in the Himalayas. The idea of combining yoga with trekking was born in 2008 and we have been passionate in organizing yoga treks in Nepal ever since. At Purna Yoga & Treks, as skilled trekking guides and passionate yoga teachers, we wanted to offer people a better way to experience some of the world's most breathtaking scenery. After much experimenting and exploration on how to integrate trekking and yoga we found a winning formula. Our yoga treks and tours have been carefully designed to combine the best elements of each. We provide a gentle trekking schedule, healthy food, stretches for weary muscles, breathing exercises to ease breathing and time to relax, reflect and enjoy the location. Each day starts with a short meditation and gentle yoga session to awaken you to the beauty that surrounds you and connects your senses with nature. We take time to stretch even during the day to prevent muscle strain. At times we also stop along the trail to really appreciate the surroundings and meditate on the sound of a flowing river or engage in mountain gazing meditation. Afternoons are marked with yoga nidra - guided relaxation which allows us to integrate the day's experiences and is deeply rejuvenating. This combination of trekking, yoga and mindfulness is a sure way to connect with yourself and to help find inner balance and harmony in the natural setting of world's highest mountains.

I did the 10-day Kopra Ridge trek in September. The trek itself is beautiful and off the beaten path. We were a small group and besides Poon Hill we didn't encounter bigger groups of people. September is still off season which has certain benefits. However, there can still be a lot of rain and leeches along with it on the trails. If that is too bothersome for you, consider taking a trek during the main season in October or March. Our group was small and our guide and porters did their best to make the trek a great experience. Food was usually excellent and staying at the lodges was usually a comforbtale experience. Yoga was usually performed in the mornings before breakfast and again after reaching the lodge in the afternoon/evening. Some days were too busy with hiking though, therefore we always adjusted our plans based on everyone's condition, the weather, etc. It was my first yoga trek and I highly enjoyed this combination. It gives you a great opportunity to slow down during your trek and find time so connect with yourself and the environment in between.

We made the 6 days trek of "Ghorepani/Pun Hill", plus the Mulde View Point. We've started from Birethanti and finished in Ghandruk.
During the trek, we enjoyed beautiful yoga and stretching sessions in the morning and at night. What can I say? I loved every aspect of this experience, from the dedicated staff of Yoga Purna and Treks to the stunning and breathtaking landscapes of the Himalayan Mountains. I had profound moments of self-awareness and connection with nature and my inner world. Everything exceeded my expectations and left me emotionally fulfilled. I return home with a deep sense of having gained something that I will keep in my heart forever, all within just 6 days. A heartfelt thank you to the company owner and, last but not least, to our guide. Our guide proved to be an extraordinary individual, and his teachings will stay with me until my last step on this beautiful planet. Once again, thank you. I wholeheartedly recommend this experience to everyone

Wonderful trekking tour of Annapurnas with our guide who was also our yoga teacher. Our 2 porters were also very kind and helpful. 12 unforgettable days followed by a peaceful 8-day stay at purna yoga in Pokhara. Every body was so kind, available. Yoga sessions were a very high learning experience. Enjoy your singing bowl sessions…
We’d like to go back as soon as possible…

I did the Panchase Trek during 4 days and 3 nights and the combination between yoga and trek is a great experience!
Yoga prevents the appearance of muscular aches during hiking and its practice in the nature makes you feel very peaceful and refreshed
The trek was not difficult and we walked every day through beautiful landscapes in front of the impressive Annapurna range. Magical ! Our guide and yoga teacher Yogesh was very friendly, thoughful and professional. The food was good and the rooms basic but very clean and comfortable. I will never forget this trek and I highly recommend it!

My friend and I went to Purna yoga retreat just for 2 nights whilst we were in Pokhara. I often do yoga but my friend had never done any. Both of us were accommodated for and loved our experiences! Food is amazing, the location is beautiful and the yoga instructors are great. I can’t wait to come back for longer next time! I felt amazing afterwards, a true detox and cleanse! 😃

It was an amazing experience. Yoga every morning prepared me physically, mentally and emotionally for the trekking. Dinesh, guide and yoga teacher, was incredible! He knows how to take you deeper into the yoga practice while being respectful and creative. His quiet and committed presence made the steeper slopes enjoyable! And Depends presence was a major condiment to the trip. He carried the heavy stuff with a smile and was always eager to help! Highly recommended!

We went to the Poon Hill trek just one week before the New Year. It was a last minute decision, my first visit to Nepal, first trek and first yoga experience so I was very sceptical and didn’t have the slightest idea what awaited me. I couldn’t imagine it will be a truly life-changing experience, leaving me so inspired and exited. Even now, it is hard to find words to describe, as they all seem too banal.

Walking step by step for hours was challenging sometimes but I discovered more about myself, and my limits than I ever thought possible. I came out stronger and with more internal energy. Sometimes it’s a not matter of being strong but feeling strong. Every morning we started with gentle Yoga exercises and stretching and it had a magical effect: it reduced muscles pain, cleaned our minds and prepared us for a hard day.
Evening Nigra Yoga helped deeply relax and observe our mind-body relationship. It was real external healing.

It never could have happen without the unique and highly professional Purna Yoga team. The trek has been perfectly planned and organized in every aspect. We didn’t have to worry about anything: we always had nutritious fruits, nuts and fantastic Yak cheese every morning, a cup of hot herbal tea when we were cold, delicious and healthy food when we were hungry. The accommodations were simple and clean and had amazing views to enjoy at the end of the day.
We stopped for one night at the “ Little Paradise”, a small farm, where the mountains are so close that it seems you could touch them, and it was impossible to take your eyes from them.

This trek gave us the opportunity to see not only the unmatched beauty of the Nepalese nature but also the lives of ordinary people and their traditions.
We could see how hard, but harmonious they live and how friendly and hospitable these charismatic, strong people. And our life's problems began to seem so insignificant. I experienced moments of real happiness from simplicity and I miss it so much.

I want to say thank you to all the Purna Yoga team who made this unforgettable trek possible: to Monahar, who patiently offered friendly and detailed answers to all my questions from our fist contact; to Dinesh and Bijay, our wonderful porters, who took care of us, carried our bags and brought us food and tea, always with a very friendly smile.
And a special thank you to our yoga teacher Karnesh who always was supportive, calm and patient and shared with us his yoga philosophy knowledge and love of nature.
The experience I had in this trek will stay with me forever. I hope to see you all again this year because I already planning my next trip to Nepal.

I highly recommend this company to everyone who wants to discovery a pure beauty of Nepal; they have so many different treks and tours to offer.

I came across this company by chance and I decided to give it a try as I wanted to do some trekking and combining that with yoga sounded interesting. I’m glad I did because my experience with Nepal Yoga Trek was definitely the highlight of my stay in Nepal. From the very beginning they displayed a very high standard of customer care and a great attention to detail, all my questions (and I had many!) were answered in a prompt and very informative manner.
So first I decided to try the Sunrise Yoga Tour to Sarangkot to view the sunrise and the mountains and do some morning yoga among breathtaking scenery. The tour was a great experience and totally worth getting up so early! The view of the sunrise against the mountains was incredible and everything was really well organised. The yoga was fantastic, what a great way to start the day! The yoga teacher was excellent, very knowledgeable and he made sure everyone was comfortable throughout. After yoga we had some breakfast and that was the best muesli I have ever tasted, no kidding. We were back in Pokhara around 9am.
After this experience I couldn’t wait to do a yoga trek and I decided on doing the Poon Hill. I was a bit nervous as I’m not that fit but I soon realised that the trek was designed to be very comfortable and the yoga practice prevented any sore muscles that I’m sure I would have had otherwise. I just simply loved the combination of trekking among incredible scenery with yoga and meditation, good company and good food. I also learned a lot about the local culture and way of life. The Nepal Yoga Trek staff always made sure that everyone was comfortable, happy and well fed. I really can’t praise them highly enough, they made this experience an unforgettable one. Their enthusiasm, care, warmth and knowledge made my stay memorable and very special. All I can say is that I’ll certainly be back in Nepal very soon.
