About
A Dutch-Aussie co-creation opened around the beginning of December 2010. We’re situated a little away from the touristy strip of Pokhara, in the neighbourhood of the people. An oasis amidst the daily rumblings of work & play nearby.Join a welcomed mixed clientele of bikers, locals, general transients, entrepreneurs, volunteers, storytellers and story seekers for a bit of “same same, but different”.Whether it’s a break for WiFi and a brew, a pool game and a pint, a quick bite and a beverage, or a moment for unwinding and perhaps a conversation or two, a bit of honest traveller advice, arranging your bike tour or to help sell your own Bullet; the Bullet Basecamp and the faces behind always deliver.

Even though I was not a bike fanatic on arrival, the first place I found myself after stepping off the bus in Pohkara was this bar. In desperate need of some good company, a little western-comfort and a beverage or two, the Bullet was quite literally the perfect Basecamp. The owners are extremely welcoming and you will always find a seasoned blend of adventurous travellers, a kind-hearted group of volunteers, a handful of adrenaline junkies or simply the pleasant locals stopping by for a coffee.
The atmosphere is unlike anywhere else found down by Lakeside. The music is brilliant and with a selection of tunes so big there is always a favourite of yours ready to be requested. If you're not to busy soaking up the hilarious stories, appreciating the hand built decor or putting your feet up, you could always enjoy a game of pool or even watch live sport events on the big screen and occasionally kick back and watch a film.
In the evening the bar comes alive and the atmosphere turns from being, easy going and a peaceful escape from the daily madness of Nepal to an upbeat, sociable setting, where the drinks will keep coming all night long. The owners know exactly what people want and deliver an unforgettable night time after time.
This bar simply was the making of my trip and the memories and friends I made here will never be forgotten. Best bar in Nepal by far!

When one arrives in Pokhara it doesn't take long to realize that all the bars along the lake offer the same atmosphere. Loud music, unsocial settings, and service that is both unreliable and lacking personal attention. Enter the Bullet Basecamp. About a 10-15 minute walk up the hill from the S-Mart at the main crossroads of Lakeside, Bullet has it all. Whether you are by yourself or looking to celebrate with a larger group the Bullet is guaranteed to have you coming back again and again.
I arrived in Pokhara about 4 months ago a lost soul. The bullet helped me to track down a little bit of what i was missing. The atmosphere is friendly, almost to the point that you feel part of a family rather than a bar regular. The service is impeccable. The staff is a fusion of Nepali regulars and Westerners looking to help out while making a little extra dough. In truth it is the owners that really help to make the Bullet the best bar in Pokhara. Nathan is a bike fanatic and fix it guy who's t-shirt tells it all. "Ask the Man from Bullet Basecamp." If you have a question about Pokhara, Nepal, or just life in general he is the man to ask. Ginette is the rock that holds the place together. Quiet at first but full of life and just as helpful as Nathan when you need answers quick. She is not around as much as Nathan due to her double life running a Non-profit connecting street kids with their families and working on getting them back home. Between the two of them they have created an atmosphere that is both rugged and loving, much like the vegetarian bikers who frequent the joint. If you are a volunteer, trekker, biker, tourist, traveler, or just one looking for a good time, the Bullet Basecamp is the only place to go. You'll come in a guest, you will leave as family.

Now that I am back in Toronto, unwinding from the trips that I made over the past few months, and awaiting for a white Christmas here, I remember this gathering place half way around the world in Nepal. This place is like the Rock, except it's not in Gibraltar but in Pokhara. It's solid, opens every night, offering dependable drinks, foods and service, and most importantly, if you needed to be wired to the net, it never fails. Nathan, the affable owner, ensures everything is under control including his backup generator, which is essential considering rotating power shortage is the norm in Nepal. The place is about 15-20 min. walk from the strip, the Lakeside tourist area, and it suits me perfectly, as the orphanage that I was volunteering with is just around the corner; in any case, it is situated on main artery of the town. I was nursing stomach flu for a week, and the great staff there accommodated my need for a vegetarian diet and prepared the meals and herbal tea the way I wanted them. Above all, it is a great hangout place to meet other volunteers, bikers, hikers, mountaineers, and everybody has a story to share. This is one place you don't want to miss from your itinerary. It's like a home away from home.

Wow, what a bar! Had some of the best nights of my life at this place. Including the infamous last night in Pokhara, lets just say im going to learn to swim better after that night.
A good meeting place to get to know good people, drink good drinks and listen to great music. Try the chilli vodka if you dare. The pain is the best thing about it, made my own batches in Britain now. Nath is a star, his expert tuition put me on a motorbike and put me on the road. I will always remember time spent at that bar or on the bike with nath as some of the best moments in Nepal.
Seriously cannot kiss the bullet butt enough. Go there, drink hard and enjoy life.

As good as an Aussie pub in a land that doesn't know what that means. If youre looking for a relaxed atmosphere with added creature comforts (like clean glasses!) but without the added price or youre hankering for some cultural insight from 2 expats in an otherwise touristy area, then this is your place. You love Pokhara all the more having met Nathan and Jeanette.

I stood in Pokhara 3 days in November 2012 and I have been at this bar all nights.
Atmosphere was extremely friendly, the staff was really fantastic, food and beers were delicious and it was full of good people to chat with.
Bullet Basecamp is the place where you feel at home even when you are thousands of miles away from it...
Can't wait to be back at the best biker bar I've ever visited in Asia!

I was volunteering in Nepal in Bhaktapur and made a weekend trip to Pokhara. I fell while paragliding and after spending the whole day in the hospital and getting a cast all my fellow volunteer friends told me to come out to the famous Bullet Basecamp, so I said why not, alcohol is the cure to pain after all!
Nathan is an extremely nice dude who is friendly with all his customers and has created a wide selection of alcohol beverages including his own chocolate liquor and chili vodka. I tried both and they were amazing! It's a great place to meet people from all over the world and locals!
I ended up buying about 10 volunteers and myself a shot too, I drank a decent amount then manouvered around on my crutches like it was something I was born to do.
Definitely plan to go back there a lot more the next time I'm in town!
If there was a Bullet Basecamp with that type of atmosphere in Canada I'd probably be a local :)

We arrived at this bar on good authority it was the 'place to go' in Pokhara. Nathan warmly welcomed us, and his freezer chilled glasses were a treat! We were looking to buy an Enfield Bullet out there, and Nathan had plenty of great advice for us. The bar was a great social hub for travelers, foreigners working out there, and getting to know the friendly local staff. We spent over a week in Pokhara and every day at the bar, his morning coffee and toasties were great! We had Movie nights and Poker nights and birthday parties. We felt like one big family and really appreciated all Nathan did for us helping buying our bike. Thanks Nathan, hopefully we'll be back someday for another ride!

We (myself and four friends) spent the best part of a week in Kathmandu trying to source 5 Royal Enfield Bullets. Our plan was to ride through Nepal and into India over a month trip. We managed to find 1 Bullet that week. Upon arriving at Bullet Basecamp (BB) in Pokhara we met the bar owner Nathan and within the hour he had located and shown us four other Royal Enfield's to get us started on our Bullet adventure. We spent the next few days getting ready for our journey, most of the time was spent at BB. The reason for this was that the beer was icy cold, and the pizza's Nathan arranged for us were sensational and made a great change from the daily staple of masala curry for breakfast lunch and dinner. Nathan and the regulars at the bar made us feel welcome and even arranged for us to be hustled at Poker one night by some danish backpackers. He provided advice for the best way to cross the boarder with the bikes and we had a ball on our journey which would not of got off the ground without Bullet Basecamp Pokhara. Thanks again.
