We took a taxi for 1500 rupess return and he waited 2 hours for us whilst we took out a boat on the lake. We dived in and swam in the warmest and most tranquil of waters, an eagle circling above and no-one else in sight. Visit before the tourists arrive and it becomes Pokhara no 2

I spent about a week in Begnas Lake and its such a beautiful peaceful location! The views of the Himalayas were breathtaking and I didn't want to leave. If you are in the Pokhara area I definetely recommend spending at least a night or two in the area.

This is a magic and peaceful place with a wonderful sightseeing of the Annapurna mountain. It's near pokhara and you can go by local bus for only 50 rubies. I would highly recommend it!!

Begnas Lake is way better than Phewa Lake. i was been here in the morning. Its outta Pokhara. Less crowded, beautiful view around the lake and quite clean. you can almost go swimming on it. Its like surround all covered with the forest jungle so its more realistic way to enjoy the nature. Take care

The lake is an alternative to the polluted lakes at Pokhara and the area. It is safe to swim here. Do not expect a metropolitan athmosphere, but a local village like nepal, so you will have to take non hygienic, poor restaurants/bars... Tourism is on the rise here, yet only Nepali tourism, I have not seen a single western person... More

This is a quite beautiful place just outside Pokhara. It is like a jungle forest, quite dense but note as extensive of course. You can make some nice strolls there. We had coffee at the coffee maker (try their honey) with great views. We might want to spend more days there next time we visit Nepal.

The lake is at outskirt of pokhara. The place is less crowded compare to fewa lake and more for nature lovers.
