We organized permits and a guide for an independent Manaslu Circuit Trek with North Nepal Travels & Trek (based in Pokhara) in October 2022. We recommend North Nepal for any adventure you may have in Nepal. The owner, Mohan, is patient, knowledgeable, and very kind. We reached out via WhatsApp before our arrival and he answered our questions well. As the time for our initial meeting approached, some late-monsoon weather caused landslides and damaged parts of the Manaslu Circuit trail, leaving many trekkers stuck in Samagaun. Mohan let us know about the conditions, and advised us to wait until it was safe. Two days later, he let us know that he got information that it was likely that local people would finish making trails across the landslides, and that we could begin our trek. We provided our passports and documents, and he got the three permits organized for us the same day (Manaslu Restricted Area Permit, Manaslu Conservation Area Permit, Annapurna Conservation Area Permit) for $160 per person. Guide service provided for $28/day (which includes guide accommodation, food, and drinks). We paid for our groups’ transportation, accommodation, food, and drinks independently on the trail. We met with the fantastic freelance guide he organized for us (Raj Rai - recommended!) and began transportation to the trek the next day. North Nepal allowed for the payment of 8 days upfront, and the remaining 5 days after we returned from the trek. Mohan also directed us to the reputable “Trekking Shop/ Trek equipment solution” located next door, which provided excellent service for equipment rental and purchase. During our pre-trip conversations, North Nepal also provided complementary chai masala, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was a lovely experience organizing our trek with North Nepal and recommend them fully for any adventures you want to plan, big or small.

I spoke to Mohan before arriving to Pokhara via WhatsApp and he gave me a good feeling. He sent me detailed itinerary which was quite in line with my wishes and when we met he further tailored the trek and also introduced me to my potential guide Raj.
Raj made a good first impression and also read some reviews about him from others. I decided to go on a 7/8 day private trek with him around Ghandruk and then into lower Mustang.
Raj was on top of everything from the start, I hardly had to think for myself and could just enjoy the trek without having to worry about anything (except the "adventurous" bus rides maybe). Raj was kind, fun to hang out with, very knowledgeable and made me feel very secure in whatever situation we ended up in. Raj is great with all sorts of people which really helped with meeting the locals. He was also very transparent and correct with regards to finances which I appreciated as I opted not to take the complete package but just hire him as my guide.
Finally, Raj was patient, integer, always excited/optimistic, saved me from numerous leeches(more important than it may sound), very flexible and really made sure the tour was in line with what I wanted while disregarding his personal preferences.
I can't recommend Raj enough and very much hope to trek with him again in future.

First time coming to Pokhara for trekking, my girlfriend and I participated in a three-day, two-night itinerary that included visits to Poon Hill and Ghandruk. We found North Nepal through a friend's recommendation, and the owner provided clear explanations beforehand, actively helping us arrange a suitable itinerary.
Our mountain guide was Raj. Raj's English was very fluent; he elaborately introduced the highlights of the journey and was able to answer any questions we had. Throughout the trek, Raj was attentive to each group member's condition while maintaining flexibility in the itinerary.
My girlfriend started experiencing discomfort in her knee on the second day but still insisted on completing the entire journey. Raj accompanied us every step of the way, ensuring our safe arrival at the destination (originally a 7-hour trek, it took us 11 hours).

We completed a 5 day Annapurna Base Camp trek with North Nepal Treks and had a fabulous time! Communication with Mohan before the trek was excellent, and we felt well-prepared. Upon arrival we were picked up and met our guide (Shiva) and porter (Don) and made our way to the start of the trek on a long jeep ride.
Typically Annapurna Base Camp is done in 7 days or so, so we knew 5 would be aggressive. It ended up being more difficult than we anticipated (especially living at sea level), but Shiva did an outstanding job keeping us on track and setting expectations. I feel like we really lucked out getting both Shiva and Don as both were *outstanding* and far exceeded my high expectations. With 25 years of experience in the mountain, Shiva seemed to know everything and everyone. We were always staying in the best accommodations and receiving the best meal service. At one point my wife had a small bout of stomach illness at Annapurna Base Camp, and both Shiva and Don were extremely helpful in navigating a stressful situation (she was ultimately fine hours later and we enjoyed a beautiful sunrise view at the top!). Don was also frequently helping us out with various tricky hiking areas, and in taking many amazing photos. We also got very lucky with weather and had perfectly clear views each day.
After a long five days, we made our way back to Pokhara, and at Mohan's office they even arranged for a surprise anniversary cake to celebrate our 3rd anniversary (which occurred on the final day of our trek)! I had mentioned our anniversary casually to Shiva, and it was so awesome they thought to do this!
At some point we will come back to Nepal and do a longer trek, and we will absolutely be doing it again with North Nepal Treks, and requesting both Shiva and Don if they are available to go lead us once again. Everything went extremely well and we are very, very happy with out experience. Everyone at North Nepal Trek's office (including Mohan himself) and our guide/porter were simply fantastic.

We had a wonderful and memorable trip to Australian camp organised by North Nepal treks organised at a short notice. Yagya was our guide. He shared a lot about local culture and customs. He went out of his way to show us places along the way and explained their history. He made sure we had wonderful time. The sunset and sunrise views over the Himalayas from Australian camp was magnificent and would remember it for ever. Thank you North Nepal team and Yagya for such a wonderful experience.

We recently had an incredibly wonderful and memorable experience with our guide Zeewan and our porter Dayaram on our Manaslu Circuit and Tsum Valley trek. Zeewan came highly recommended from friends. He and Dayaram were exceptional, we always felt we were in safe hands over the 19 days we were completing the trek. Zeewan has so much passion for Nepali wildlife and it shined through and really enriched our experience; while we were trekking, he spotted wild deer, Tahr, Blue Sheep and Himalayan Marmots for us to see. We would absolutely recommend heading out with Zeewan to anyone, we are incredibly grateful for the professionalism and kindness of our guide and porter.

We had a great time trekking with Raj, doing the Manaslu circuit and Tsum Valley. He is an amazing guide who made trekking very fun and enjoyable. This was my girlfriend first trek in Nepal and first trek longer than 8h. Raj is a great guide for beginners, setting up a very reasonable pace through the mountains, while providing great information about the surroundings. I 100% recommend trekking with him if this is your first time trekking in Nepal.

We had the best tour guide ever, Zeewan was extremely nice, very knowledgable and always in a good mood. With him, we were also able to cross the 5000m mark on the Mardi Himal Trek. Given his experience as Ultra Mountain Marathon Runner, this was not even a training for him ;)
Would definitely recommend the tour operator as well as the tour guide to anyone who wants to experience Nepal and the Himalaya.

North Nepal helped us organise our trek to the Mardi himal for 3 days. We had a short period of time and they’ve accomodate us an itinerary to make it possible. Our guide Ananda took great care of us, has been extra careful in preventing altitude sickness. We are more than grateful to him for his dedication and hospitality.
