My adult daughter and I hiked a 4-night trip to Poon Hill and other locations such as Tadapani and Ghandruk. We had Muku as our guide. He was quite knowledgeable about the geography and cultures of Nepal. He did a great job by assessing our abilities and interests and modifying our trip as needed. Muku allowed us to spend time walking by ourselves when we wanted. He was also available to have us walk with him and talk to him when we desired. One quiet and peaceful guesthouse he led us to was Mountain Discovery Lodge in Chuie. I would recommend Muku as a guide. Adam's tours made setting up the trip easy, which we did in Pokhara the afternoon before we hiked.

My Husband and I used the Travel desk at the Adam hotel, and were assisted by Ashok Paudel. Ashok was simply wonderful, knowledgeable & efficient! He accommodated our requests, including for international air tickets and worked with us on paying for the ticket within 2 days of flight date. He is truly helpful and made travel for us very easy. Staff like Ashok give a great impression of Nepal, as well as Customer Service. If we are in Pokhara again, we will certainly use the service again! Thanks, Ashok!

We booked several activities with Adam over week period: paragliding, rafting, 2 day trekking and Chitwan safari. All went very smoothly and was well organised. Very reliable and knowledgeable.

A reasonably priced service but poor execution

I had a terrible experience as a solo woman traveller doing Mardi Himal trek with a said guide.

Explanation:

1. The company and point of contact who was said to be a part of Nepal Tourism Board, did not once contact during or after to check regarding my experience and/safety or feedback
2. The guide, did not have any sense of personal space and boundaries:
a) asked me if he could touch my cheeks in middle of a lonely forest
b) upon asking to maintain some distance, he left me alone in the jungle and went ahead to the camp
c) made several comments to make me feel unsafe
d) looked very cheaply when I would wear shorts or a deep neck

It has taken me time to process the incident and feel courage to write about it. Upon realization I'd like to advise my fellow women travellers:

1. Pls pls pay more but take someone who would feel safe. Thus, take time to interact and then choose the guide after being sure of who they are as people
2. Go through a good agency of preferably younger generation as they'd care about women's safety and an educated guide who legit has education certificate to prove that so women are normalized for them imo.
3. If possible go with a female guide. (Although my other fellow travelers did not have the same fate even though they had a male guide)

I hope more women do not have the same fate

I stayed with the Hotel Adam and used this travel and tours division to make arrangements for airline flights, trekking permits and TIMS permits for only a $5 US fee (saves tons of time spent in lineups). They can also arrange trekking tours, guides etc. and anything else you might need.
Mr. Adam goes OUT OF HIS WAY to help travellers arrange whatever it is you've come to Pokhara to do. I cannot stress how honest and helpful this man is - I am honoured to call him my brother.

We used this tour company to arrange our poon hill trek. They sorted our permits, transport and guide for what we thought was a more than reasonable price. Our guide was absolutely amazing! He completely made the experience for us. Bishnu (our guide)- translated from Nepalese to English for us to communicate with the locals. He helped us organise places to stay, encouraged us while treking, taught us about Nepalese culture and shared experiences with us. We really can’t thank him enough for the incredible memories.

I first met Adam (Basu) when I stayed at his hotel in Pokhara in April 2017 when I had a quick trip to his incredible country. I also met his brother, Som, who was to be my guide to Australia camp.
I was so impressed with the energy, honesty and pure enthusiasm for their work that my cousin and I employed them for our trek to Everest base camp October 2018.
We were so glad that we had Adam's expert company to look after us as things got a bit tricky on our EBC trek.
There were quite a few who were having problems with altitude and they were being left behind as their group carried on.
I, too, was suffering from altitude when we were at Tengboche. If we continued there was a good chance that we would have to abandon the trek and waste the remainder of our time kicking our heels in Kathmandu for a week.
In the morning it was decided that it would be best to return to Lukla now, fly to Kathmandu then fly to Pokhara and have a four day trek in the Annapurna region. All arrangements were made by Adam in Pokhara and Som organised the details. There was to be no added cost to us for this except for the flights as the money we had paid already would cover this.
I can think of no other company who could have turned this potential disaster into a resounding success.
I have to add that some people on the trail at some points were having difficulty securing accommodation but Som, who has done this trek many times had no problem making advance bookings at the lodges as we went.
Also at Lukla airstrip it was chaos as everybody was trying to get flights out due to a backlog caused by poor weather earlier. Som worked tirelessly and pestered the airline personnel relentlessly until he got our tickets.
Some people had been on standby for a few days and Som said once he was stuck here for 6 days!
If you want a secure, safe and friendly trek without the huge cost of the big companies, I strongly recommend Adam Tours and Travels.
From being met at Kathmandu airport to our final day being escorted back for our return flight and all the arrangements between, everything was perfectly executed.
PS. All arrangements were made safely by email and their website.

We booked a trekking in the Himalaya with this travel agency. Everything was taken care of and it was very professional. Unfortunalety, the guide we had was not what we expected nor wanted.. After the trek we went back to this agency and they were very sorry for us. They wanted to make sure that we left with a good feeling, so they gave us a very good deal on another activity. Despite the incapabillities of the guide which he would give our feedback on, we left with a good feeling!
Nevertheless, the trekking (Ghandruk-Ghorepani) was beautiful and an amazing experience.

We booked a 2 night Chitwan package to Eden lodge and we weren't disappointed. Their price was cheaper than direct with the lodge and they were great English speakers so everything was very clear - they also arranged for us to swap elephant safari for jeep safari. Would use again
