Day 1: 13km to Chisapani (steep start)
Day 2: 24km Chisapani to Nagakort (more gentle)

My girlfriend and I have just completed this three day / two night trek from Kathmandu. We’d thoroughly recommend this trek if your time in Nepal is limited.

We found the views of the Himalayas from both Chisapani and Nagakort were incredible so if you don’t have time to get closer to the mountains, this is the trek for you.

Although both my girlfriend and I are active, neither of us are experienced hikers. But our guide Tulsi was able to adjust the route to match our levels of fitness.

There are challenging parts of the trek, especially a steep opening 1.5 hours but it’s totally worth it for the views at the end of each day.

If you’re not on a tight budget, we’d recommend splashing out for a more luxurious night in Nagakort at the Club Himalaya Hotel. Your legs will thank you for it and you’ll have earnt it!

Thanks to Tulsi and Anuj for a great experience.

I visited Nepal recently and right away i came in contact with Kris. With limited budget and more things to do, i had some planning to do. Krish and Trekking Encounters provided me with a budget deals to do more activities in Nepal. I ended up going to Chitwan National Park and Pokhara and as a bonus i also ended up seeing parts of Kathmandu which i never would have thought of visiting with my thrifty budget.

Recently I visited Kathmandu and had a very wonderful experience with Trekking Encounters Nepal Pvt.Ltd. I visited Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath Stupa, Patan and Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Among them I found Bhaktapur very beautiful. I had a very good guide who explained the entire history of the different monuments in an interesting way. I was also lucky to shop around the traditional items. I also enjoyed the cultural dinner with them. I am thinking for a longer trip with them in the future. I am hoping to do Everest Base Camp Trek with my girl friend. Thanks Kris for organising such a memorable trip.

Kris & the team at Trekking Encounters are the best solution for managing everything to do with your trek. I've just got back from my fourth Nepal trip, and for all of these trips Trekking Encounters have managed the logistics perfectly. Well priced, service with a smile, great guides, and most importantly...the team are accessible. We had a few challenges with internal flights on this trip which is very common in Nepal (weather/cloud) - but to be able to WhatsApp Kris & the team from some remote base camp or mountain top and get them to change our flights, or organise alternate transport for the next morning... it's just so valuable. Super highly recommended!!

Trekking Encounters Nepal organized a complex 3 week excursion for 14 members of a hiking club from Oregon. The trip incorporated a cultural tour, 8 day Himalaya trek, jungle safari, an airplane flight over Mt Everest, and participation in the Tihar festival. The excursion package included airport pick up and drop off, 4 different guides, 7 porters, hotels, teahouses, many meals, private transportation, admission fees to museums and cultural sites--all at a bargain price.

Krishna Bhattarai, the director, was efficient and well organized. The trip went as planned, without any major hitches. The guides were personable and very knowledgeable, providing us with valuable insights into the culture. The hotels in Kathmandu and Pokara were first rate. The teahouses varied considerably, but we were offered the best accommodations available in the remote areas that we trekked.

We were a little apprehensive about wiring a very large down payment to secure the trip in advance of meeting Krishna, but he is scrupulously honest and kept all his commitments. His communication skills in English are excellent. He can be trusted and will do what it takes to make your excursion successful. I can recommend his services without reservation.

There are good reasons why you should consider hiring a local Nepali company such as Trekking Encounters rather than the more familiar travel agents in the US, UK, or Australia. First, Nepali travel agents understand the culture and local facilities and can anticipate and resolve problems as they arise. Second, you will be supporting the Nepali economy, which was hard hit by the earthquake in 2015 and the subsequent pandemic. Your dollars will help many families make it through the lean times. Third, this is by far the more affordable option--about half the rate charged by foreign travel companies. Finally, hiring locals ensures your immersion in the culture--which is why you want to come here, isn't it?

My finance and I visited Nepal in November 2015. We were headed to India for a wedding and decided to take advantage of being in that part of the world and add a visit to Nepal to our trip. And man were we glad we did! From the start of planning our trip and figuring out which trek would would work for our schedule, Kris was wonderful. He was so responsive, kind and thorough in answering the many questions I had. From the moment we arrived in Nepal, Kris was on top of everything and personally went out of his way to welcome us and make sure we had everything we needed for a great trip. Santa was our guide and he was awesome. We had the most amazing trip in Nepal and have Kris and his team to thank for that. We will definitely be back to Nepal and book through Kris at Trekking Encounters again when we do. Thank you Kris and Santa for making our trip such a memorable one!

We visited Nepal with 2 young children in May 2014. My wife and I had been there previously (pre-kids!) and trekked to EBC, Annapurna circuit and Manaslu, all organised by Kris at Trekking Encounters. This trip we had decided to trek to Langtang village. As before, we were very impressed by the professional service we received, and the price we paid. The guides and porters supplied by Kris on both trips went above and beyond to make our trip as fun, safe, comfortable and interesting as possible. We specifically employed 2 porters to carry the children during the times they didn't want to walk and after a few hours they were best buddies. We had brought a baby carrier with us for the youngest and a wonderfully made wicker seat for our older (7 year old) daughter made by Kris and Santa, our guide. During the trek there was not a day when the girls weren't clutching bunches of wild flowers picked for them by us and Santa :) In between treks we visited various sites across Kathmandu, all organised very efficiently by our host. Kris, we will be back and we will be in touch!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to those who lost loved ones in the earthquake earlier this year.

I've actually used Kris at Trekking Encounters three times to coordinate all the logistics for my Nepal trips - and he's never let me down. Whether that's been in organizing permits, ground transport, internal flights, and of course fantastic guides & porters - Trekking Encounters have always been first class. I now count Kris as a friend and I always look forward to catching up over tea in Kathmandu. I can't recommend them more highly.
