tour: Gokya (EBC) and Chola pass hike.

Visit Himalaya Treks is a very nice and professional company to work with. During my preperations in the Netherlands (not knowing what to start on) the communication was clear and all questions were answered very extensively, with a good level of service.

In Kathmandu one of the employees, Rajan, visited me and briefed me on everything about my tour. Not only what the tour contained, but advise on what to take with me and we even talked about the culture of hiking in the mountains and working together with a guide who I hadn't met in advance but would be togheter with for the next 12 days. All kinds of questions I've asked and got very clear and lengthy anwers. Even after the advise on clothes and medicine we went together to get them in Thamel. A very good service.

The guide Lakpure was a great and humble man with over 14 years of experience in the mountains. He supported was exelent offering me to carry my sleepingbag and wintercoat (the rest I carried myself). Dispite he couldn't speak English so well we slowely got to know eachother in good atmosphere (he had English courses planned in the near future to improve his skills by the way). Talking about my daily experiences and looking forward to the next days there was always room for changing the plans in our advance, skipping an acclimatisation day or changing the route a bit. I have had a great 11 days of hiking and felt in good hand but didn't loose the feeling of indepedence.

After returning in Kathmandu I had a debrief with Rajan for more than an hour sharing my experiences over a cup of tea.

I definatelly recommend to work with Visit Himalaya Treks and if I visit Nepal in the future I won't hesitate to contact them again.

Full of joy, we set off for Nepal for another wonderful trekking tour. Warmly welcomed by Himal (owner) and Ngima (guide). We were warmly and hospitably received by them and their families during the first days of our trek at home (Kothang and DadaKharka). This gave us an authentic insight into the daily life and the life of the families. The warmth and openness of the family members made us feel at home quickly. I can recommend this experience to everyone. After a few metres of altitude from Lokhim via Karikhola, Phakding, we reached Namche Bazaar, then Pengpoche and high up to Ama Dablam Base Camp. Then we hiked on to Gokyo Ri. A wonderful route with stopover. It is well worth getting up to Gokyo Ri early (4am). Our crew consisting of Ngima (guide), Prabin and Tenzin (supporters) made this trek another unforgettable adventure. The beautiful nature, the mountains, the people and their joy, I look forward to seeing them again and highly recommend Visit Himalaya Treks.

My wife and I love remote camping adventures so we have engaged Visit Himalaya Treks ten times now with complete satisfaction. We look forward to more treks with this company, who have proven reliable, safe, attentive and very professional.

Usually it is just the two of us interacting with the camping team, so there is a unique friendly sense of sharing exploration of lovely Nepal.

Big expensive camping treks with large fixed camps, lots of helpers, mess tents and all the equipment of glamour camping is not what we are looking for.

With Visit Himalaya Treks we have walked

Kangchenjunga twice

Manaslu-Tsum Valley

Upper and Lower Dolpo three times

Kangchenjunga to Makalu twice

Shivalaya to Lukla (High Route) twice mostly

We hope that you can enjoy Nepal camping with them as we have done.

Thanks Himal and team who can provide links to free tracknotes and photos we have written that are very popular.

We had a fanatic time trekking along the Lamtang valley up to kyanjin Ri. Our guide knew the area well and selected great hotels which gave us a mix of comfort and an experience of local traditional life. Getting up before dawn to climb kyanjin Ri to watch the sunrise over the mountains was really special.

We did the 5 day Ghoripani/Poonhill trek with our guide Ishwar Tamang and it was amazing. It was our first time trekking in general, so my partner had some difficulties with an old injury, but our guide was very understanding and was regularly checking in and adjusting his pace (though this was very slow for him as a professional trekker). Ishwar knew a lot about the environment we were trekking in and the culture of the people, so he gave us lots of interesting information. He knew the way to all the tea houses very well and prepared us the night before on what we were going to do the day after.

Ishwar is a very nice and social person who was fun to talk to. We really enjoyed our trek with him and would recommend anyone to also do one of his treks. He was the best guide we could ask for.

My wife and I have now completed 14 trips to remote areas with Visit Himalaya Treks to complete satisfaction. Our most recent trek, Kangchenjunga for the third time over 24 days in November 2023, was made particularly fantastic by guide Krishna Bohara, who was experienced, knowledgeable and kind. In particular, he carefully assessed our capacity on a daily basis and worked within that to provide a truly outstanding and memorable trek. He is quiet and very effective, proficient and professional. Thanks too to Tara Tamang, our always-smiling porter.

I did the Kanchenjunga South and North basecamp trek with Visit Himalaya Treks in March 2022. I was one of the first trekkers on this trek after Nepal opened after the pandemic closedown. With Tek as guide and Dil as porter I was in very good hands. Tek knows the area as his on pocket, and knows “everyone” along the route. The tea house in Ramche had not opened so Tek arranged with tents, other equipment, and extra porter other equipment from Tseram. This is my second trip with Visit Himalaya treks, an Himal is very good at taking care of you from the first e-mail until he drops you at the airport after your trip.

I’ve recently completed two treks with VisitHimalaya Treks - Kanchenjunga North and South Basecamp and Gokyo Trek. While the two treks are very different from each other (landscape, infrastructure, length and difficulty vary greatly) both treks were amazing and perfectly organized. All questions were answered fast and detailed and we even met Himal personally before the beginning of the treks to discuss any open matters. A special big thanks to Ishwar Tamang our guide for the Kanchenjunga trek. He showed an incredible attention to detail, flexibility and expertise. When one team member couldn’t continue he went above and beyond to ensure his well being.
All in all I couldn’t have hoped for a better company to do my treks with - without Himal and his team my experience wouldn’t have been the same. Hope to be back soon and explore of Nepal more together with Visit Himalaya Treks.

We had a great experience trekking for 12 days in the Langtang Valley. Our guide, Ngima Sherpa was an excellent guide, friend and host. He went the extra mile to ensure that we have a wholesome trek.

There were some hiccups that materialized due the weather, logistics and other factors, but having Ngima around ensured that we quickly were able to find an alternate route, or solution to the problem.

The hospitality, knowledge and excellence of this trekking company is unquestionable. I have spoken to few other trekkers during my journey and have understood that we had an above average experience.

Also, Langtang valley in itself was beautiful, untouched and a grand spectacle of nature that one should witness in their lifetimes.

Would highly recommend them for your next trek in Nepal.

We had a great time visiting Nepal for the first time and completing the Everest base camp trek with Visit Himalaya.
Himal and Raj were very helpful and looked after everything from the initial greeting to our airport drop-off.

Our guide Krishna was an absolute gem and looked after everything on the trek, making sure we were safe & comfortable, having the best meals and learning about the culture, scenery and fauna along the way.

While there were a few hiccups along the way with our flights to Lukla and road transportation, these were beyond the control of the company and everyone worked hard to sort things out and find alternatives quickly for us.

Overall it was a great first trek in the Himalayas and we will be looking to the company again for any future visits, including trekking again with our friend Krishna!
