We went on a trip to Nepal and as we were a bit short on time we decided on a 3 day day trek that was suitable for us as we are not the the fittest people. Tej from Nepal Alternative Treks & Expeditions has helped us plan the itinerary and he and his team were amazing and very helpfull throughout. We have decided to go with this company due to Tej's itinerary recommendation, fast response and competitive pricing. From the arrival to Kathmandu Tej has been amazing with helping us organise ourselves. Tej and his team have organised everything for us. From the airport pick up, sim card, driver for sightseeing to bus tickets to Pokhara and a tour guide Laxman who was very professional, experienced and great on our 3 day trek.
The trek itself was great for beginners and we got to experience amazing views of Annapurna from Australian Camp then a beautiful trek through forest and villages to Dhampus and then onto Sarangkot with another amazing views and sunrise.
We would greatly recommend Tej and his team at Nepal Treks & Expeditions as service and help received was beyond impressive. They are all very friendly, helpful and their English is very good.

A few weeks ago we went on a trip to Nepal, accompanied by a couple of friends who were on their second trip with Nepal Alternative Trek. Our first goal was to trek to the village of Chalish in Ruby Valley. We decided to go with the services of Nepal Alternative Trek to take us up there. We went there partly by jeep, partly walking through the cultivated terraces, meeting the inhabitants of the different communities who worked there.

I must say that the service that Tej offered us was perfect on all lines. First of all, before our departure, months before, Tej always answered our many questions (luggage, temperature, route to be revised, etc.) Always within 24 hours, he answered with a lot of patience.

All the equipment we thought we would need was available at his office.

Our guide Ammar led us to destination with confidence and professionalism. He knew all the trails, and especially all the shortcuts to avoid us having to go up or down too much along our road. He has managed all the difficulties we have encountered: due to personal reasons, we had to change and our itinerary, and our calendar, and he made everything possible. The whole team adapted to our changes. Our guide contacted Tej who orchestrated the changes without us even having to deal with anything.

The porters were attentive and were always in front of our needs.

Our journey continued towards Bandipur with the driver who made us know the various interesting points, from sunrise to sunset, making detours to take us to the most famous places. Then a 2 days stay in Chitwan, and return to Kathmandu again where the driver carried us without calculating from one place to another - God knows that traffic in Kathmandu, Bakhtapur and Patan can be complicated.

Thanks to Tej, and the whole Nepal Alternative Trek team. We will remember forever that amazing experience.

We trekked from Dec 22 to jan 4th through Ruby valley and Pangsang pass at 3850mtrs with our guide Nauser. We spent Christmas night on Pangsang and although is was cold it was an amazing experience, one we ( myself and 2 teenagers, aged 12 and 14) will never forget. Each village we stayed in was truly authentic. We loved every village but our favourites were chalish, tipling, Lapa and somdang. The hot springs near to Chalish are well worth the trek, to soak in the hot water was a very welcome relief. Our guide did everything to make sure we were safe at all times. He organised packed lunches for the long days where he knew we had no tea house to stop and get lunch at. He packed his backpack with fruit so that every night we had some fruit, he knew there was none available on the trek. This trek tested me partially due to the cold at night time and the snow we trekked through around pangsang( this made it difficult to use the trek so we had to walk the gravel road) but the sense of achievement on reaching Dhadingbesi was wonderful. I recommend Tej and all his staff with the absolute belief that they care about getting you through not only safely but that you create the most wonderful memories on the way. We are already planning our next trek, back to langtang to see some more of this wonderful place .

We had an amazing experiences with them. Because of our limited travel schedule, we planned our own itinerary and Tej helped us to achieve it. After a couple of other inquiries to other guides, we had chosen to go for an adventure with Tej as his reply was always quick, clear, accountable and impotently no hidden cost on a quote that he gave us. We were 17 of us ( 4 families - 9 kids "aged 7 to 14" and 8 adults). During our trekking, 2 kids fell unwell and couldn't continue to hike but our guides managed the situation efficiently without any damage to our itinerary. Everything was very smooth. Our guides were knowledgeable, flexible, and well coped with us (a chaotic party!). All porters were very friendly and polite. One of the porters helped our kids physically mentally to get to our final destination. They made friends each other at the end. Highly recommend Tej with his crew if you are planning to go to Nepal for trekking.

We went for a family trip with Nepal Alternative Treks and Expeditions to Kathmandu-Pokhra-Muktinath , and the experience has been fabulous. Organized by Mr. Tej Bahadur Gurung and Guided by Amar, below are some of the highlights and high points of this trip :

1. Kathmandu : The hotel and food at Kathmandu Garden Green was amazing. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The arrangements made by Tej ji were above standard.
Vehicle provided for the tour and sight seeing were also in excellent condition. Entire Kathmandu sight seeing was guided and well explained by Tej Ji's team.

2. Pokhra : We had our accommodation at Lake mahal pokhra which is just a stones throw from phewa lake and had beautiful views from hotel. The sight seeing and food at pokhra were also very well organized.

3. Mustang and Muktinath : We travelled to mustang and muktinath on a jeep arranged by Tej Ji, and this was one of the most exciting and exhausting road journey of the entire trip. Because of the expertise of our driver we were able to reach muktinath at proper time and also had a very fun filled road journey. The arrangements at muktinath and marpha were also par standard and the entire stay at mustang was very well organized.

We are very pleased with our experience with N.A.T.E and Tej Ji and will choose them again for our future vacations at Nepal.

We highly recommend N.A.T.E to any travelers going for a trek expedition to Nepal, as they are the best in this industry.

Wishing all the best to the entire team.

My husband and myself have always wanted to visit Nepal. As very independent avid hikers we were not sure about trusting our “once in a life time” Nepal adventure to a guide. We had never used guides before as we like to have flexibility and our personal space. We decided to use a guide that could provide us with some local knowledge and also for safety. Nepal Alternative Treks provided us with a customised plan for the 3 passes trek that was adjusted to our schedule as we wanted to do it in a shorter timeframe. Our guide cum porter Tek, was more than a guide, he became a team player. He knew when to give us space and when to give us motivation when things got tough. He was very good at adapting the plan when needed due to weather. He did everything with a smile and that we will never forget. Tek was a guide cum Porter in training when he came with us but he proved to have the knowledge and attitude to be a fully qualified guide, he 100% exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend him. We originally came to the Everest region for the views but the best part of the experience was to learn about the culture and the kind and friendly people of Nepal and that was only possible thanks to our guide. We can’t wait to get back

Excellent experience. Preparing our trip to Nepal, we inquired with several trekking companies. Tej was very quick to reply and eager to help. He was flexible in adjusting the plans and composed a personal itinerary for our Khopra Dandra & Khayer Lake trek. On top of that, the price for the offer was very good too! When we arrived in Kathmandu, Tej met up with us to go through the last details and set us up with our guide, Bishnu.

We met Bishnu in Pokhara and he was the best guide possible. He told us many stories about Nepal, Nepali culture, nature, his personal life and many more. He always took very good care of us and also knew when we wanted some time for ourselves. He took us to amazing places and was always happy and motivating, even when we when the weather was not too good. Bishnu is the best guide you can wish for!

We trekked in Upper Mustang for 17 days and it was just amazing.
Tej organised the tour very spontanously for us - big THANKS!
We also adjusted the days as we wanted to do shorter distances per day and it worked out really good! We would recommend it to do slower than most agencys offer as you experience the region much better!
Our staff (guide plus 3 porters) were really nice and helpful and our Guide Nauser also spoke really good english. Another thing to point out: we didn't trek on or near the road (only if there really was no other option) but always took alternativ paths, that led us to astonishing viewpoints and landscapes.

Amazing Trekking experience!
Very happy I found this company for my Trekking to Poon Hill.
Tej the company owner is a very trustworthy, reliable person. He really listened and paid attention to understand my goals, needs, ideas about the trekking experience I wished to do and tailored according to that the perfect programm for me. He supervised the whole process.
My trekking guide was Ritika Gurung. She helped me already before the trekking with preparations and organised the whole trekking in a very professional way. With her I felt safe and in good company.
You can tell that the trekking guides are very well prepared and instructed and also very passionate about their work. They are very cooperative and well coordinated teamworkers. As I decided together with Ritika to adapt the last day programm, to go along another route, the jeepdriver was wright there to expect us at the new meeting point.

Ritika was very hospital from the first day on and shared a lot about her trekking knowledge and her knowledge about nature and agriculture. She always made sure to adjust the programm to the weather and to my physical capacity and level while according it to my trekking interests.

Beside the stunning trekking experience I've got a lot of insights about culture and nature I would have missed out without the guidance of Ritika. I highly recommend trekking guide Ritika Gurung and I am looking forward to come back to Nepal and plan my next trekking with Nepal Alternative Treks & Expeditions.

We went to the manaslu circuit in 2019 and Tez Gurung aranged every thing for us. He was really very professional and I have been going to nepal every year for the last 5 years but he ranks among the best in hospitality and management. He also took great care of my 9 year old boy and he also completed the trek. Manaslu is a real wild part of Himalaya and amenities are basic but sufficient but the veiws are mind blowing out of the world. Its heaven guys.
