Planning my first trip to Nepal, I contacted Dil Gurung, the head of Musical Adventure Trekking for support. Shortly upon sending my first message, the answer followed with precise information and answers to my questions. As well further questions were immediately and answered. Within a few days the general arrangement the Annapurna Circuit Trek was set. Including airport pick-up and welcome by Dil. The following day we had a preparation meeting, discussing all details of the hike and come together with the porter guide Gagan Gurung chosen for me by Dil. Dil is a very positive and customer-oriented person taking care of all my wishes. So finally, the arrangement was in a way that I didn't have to worry about anything. During the very enjoyable hike Gagan was supporting me in an ideal way, taking care about everything, even without asking. He made the hike run very smoothly, having nice accommodation and good food. Gagan is very positive, friendly, polite and cooperative. Punctuality was just perfect. After arrival at the destination of the day he was always open for some evening walks. He was like a good friend and I always felt very positive with Gagan. He and the very good weather made my November 2019 Annapurna hike become a marvelous, outstanding and unforgettable memory. Upon returning to Kathmandu Dil was further supporting with proposals for nice day hikes around Kathmandu. Last evening, we even had a great Nepali fare well dinner. I am fully content with Dil's and Gagan's support and recommend Musical Trekking.

What an adventure - could not have chosen a better team to do it with! I was personally recommended Dil Gurung (who runs this company) by a friend, and organised the trek via email with Dil. Dil answered my many questions with clarity, and was flexible with altering itineraries. Dil, unfortunately, was not able to lead our trek - however, the guide we had, Ammar Gurung, was absolutely amazing (more on him below). We met Dil in Kathmandu, who did an excellent job organising everything. He also took us out after the trek and was always good company - Dil is a very warm person who is a wealth of knowledge on Nepal. Regarding the tour package, Dil’s pricing was highly competitive, and tea houses were of good standard, we were provided lots of food, tea and soup was included at high altitude. We were provided fruit every night, and as snacks during some of the days (also nuts). We would definitely recommend doing these hikes with a guide - it’s not actually that expensive (all things considered) and the experience with the guide is so smooth and you get a lot more culture and understanding. Ammar Gurung led us on our 15 day trek to EBC, followed by Cho La pass and Gokyo. Ammar ensured our trek ran smoothly, and always made sure we were comfortable and well fed! Ammar did an excellent job of pacing our trek (bistari, bistari), and designed a thorough acclimatisation program - ensuring we felt relaxed, well and that we would make it to base camp. Health was considered top priority, and we were never rushed - moreover he ensured we took things slow and enjoyed the journey. From what we saw, slow and steady did win the race! Ammar was more than a great guide - he brought an incredible energy to the hike, was always up beat and had a fun attitude to everything. He’s a funny guy, but serious when needed. Ammar became a good friend to us, and we seemed to have a closer connection to Ammar than some other trekkers had with their guides - which was really nice. Even on the days where moral was a bit low, his positive happy demeanour ensured happy trekking. Ammar also saved our trek. The night before Cho La pass (our most difficult day), our Porter (who had been amazing during the trek - friendly, punctual, and carried our day pack during one of the tough acclimatisation hikes, and to EBC) was struck down by a terrible cough and couldn’t sleep that night. He struggled with breathing that morning and despite trying, was not going to make the pass. Ammar was understanding, and treated our Porter well. Ammar without much hesitation, took the bag from the porter and become our Porter-Guide - instructing our Porter to return to the tea house (he went on to needing rescue - We later came to know that Dil arranged a helicopter rescue to Lukla and hospital admission for our Porter to ensure his safety). Ammar, having been a porter in the past, assured us he was okay to do so. We knew it was tough, but he refused to complain and kept up his smile. It really shows how much he cared about our trip that he became the porter on the hardest day of the trek. To make this more impressive, the night before, he had helped out another guide carry down one of their clients who had also been struck down by an altitude related respiratory issue. He did so at night, and then returned (a couple of hours walk at a fast pace) early morning to meet us on time in Gorak Shep. Ammar is an incredibly humble and generous person! After Cho La, Ammar continued to carry our bags as our guide come porter. We would later meet up with our porter once again in Lukla to say goodbye. All in all - an amazing experience. The trek was outstanding - We did this in late Nov/early December, and while the nights were cold, we were provided good quality down sleeping bags and jackets by the company. Weather was excellent this time of year. No complaints - just praise. I 100 % recommend Musical Trek, Dil Gurung and Ammar Gurung. You won’t be disappointed.

It was my fourth time in Nepal. One of the hardest trek in the Himalayas - Kanchenjunga Base Camp - with my difficult requests of a professional landscape photographer. The team did it great. Dil, as the head of the company, perfectly organized the track, immediately adjusting it according to my wishes. Thanks to this, I made two tracks during the planned time - KBC and close Annapurna, having received excellent photos in both. Bravo and Thank you, Dil. I also want to say "thank" the guides Simbir Ghale, Min Gurung and porter Lakpa Dong Tamâng.

We met Dil thanks to à contribution in the french guide du Routard. He was very calm, had always good ideas and hints, and in spite of our health problems found always a solution. He reacted rapidly to all our demands. We highly recommend him for tours around Kathmandu and in the mountains and will contact him immediately as soon as we get back to Nepal.

We decided to hire a guide and my boyfriend used to travel with Dil before. He said Dil is a very good guide, friendly and kind. That's true, Dil is very nice and polite and very experienced and knows a lot. He is very useful guide, well prepared. Sometime he help in the kitchen to prepare the food and always provided what we need. I really need to thankful for him to help me beat Kyanjing Ri mountain. The trail is not easy to walk, lot of snow and no trail. Without him I don't know if I could do that, he is very calm, was waiting for me to take a break many times. I'm so impress with it. I had an amazing time in Langtang trek, an unforgettable trip. I can just recommend him to be your guide. In the next few years we are planing for an Annapurna circuit, and of course Dil would be our guide!!
