My wife and I decided to travel to Nepal after our son traveled there a month earlier and was rescued by helicopter together with other hikers during a snowstorm. The hero of that story was Mukdi from Himalayas On Foot who came to the rescue. HOF then organized the perfect 12-day tour of Nepal for us, including a day of guided tourism in Kathmandu and 9 days of trekking to ABC. We've done many treks over the years and were not sure we needed to organize this trek through a company, but in the end we decided to go that route and were extremely happy that we did. We had the perfect porter/guide named Dipak who not only guided us through the trek, making wise choices for changes in the itinerary based on the weather and other factors, but also introduced us to Nepali culture, answering the many questions we had about life in Nepal, both in the traditional village and modern city. We benefited both from a beautiful trek during the blossoming of the rhododendron trees, and immersion in Nepali culture. Finally, we were met by Mukdi in Pokhara at the end of our trek. His hand was on the pulse throughout our trip. He realized that due to the weather, we would not be able to fly back to Kathmandu as planned and quickly organized a car to drive us back, enabling us to make our connecting flight back home.

I haven't trekked in Nepal for almost 5 years. Finally, the day we've been waiting for has arrived. I was very excited to see Everest again as my flight was about to land at Tribhuvan Airport. Next best thing was meeting Yaka at airport, he is guide for Himalayas on Foot and become my best friend. I first met Yaka in 2014. After that, I requested him to be our guide every year - ABC, ABC Circuit, Gokyo, Langtang-Gosaikun. This time we went to Gokyo again. He provides excellent service as always. If we want something special, he will try to make it happen. Especially finding a private vehicle from Ramechaap Airport back to Kathmandu during the festival which we knew that was a difficult thing but he finally did it.
Everything along the way to Gokyo is still beautiful. Gokyo Lake is very very beautiful, the lake give different moods depending on the time, sunrise in the morning, day light and sunset as well. It's really amazing.
Thank you to Surendra, Himalayas on Foot’s owner, for taking good care of us as always. Your accommodation Maya Boutique hotel in Thamel is very comfortable, nice & clean rooms, breakfast is very good and of course, we love refreshments all day service.
Thank you once again to Yaka for ensuring safety during our trip. This made everyone reach Gokyo and back to Kathmandu safely. Excellent job ever!!!!

We did the Annapurna Circuit in the end of september/beginning of october and it was the experience of a lifetime! The enriching culture, the flabbergasting nature and the always helpful people made our trek unforgettable and smooth. The teahouses we stayed in were comfortable and extremely welcoming and authentic at the same time. I recommend Nepal and especially the Annapurna Circuit trek to every mountain enthousiast that wants to see the best views of his life and at the same time be submerged into the Nepali culture, nature and gastronomy!

Myself and my partner went on the 5 day Langtang trek February 2024. We stayed at Ananta hotel in the Thamel area and when we enquired about where best to gain some advice on the trekking available were taken to Surendra.
Being complete newbies we didn’t know what we wanted to do or what the options were but Surendra advised us of them all. He wasn’t pushy and it was obvious to see he wanted us to enjoy our time.
We took the day to consider and got back to him the following day. Within 24 hours he organised everything from the guide and porter, jeep pick up , trekking passes and permits.
We met with Ram (our guide) that same day so he could walk us through what to expect. We felt we’d genuinely got lucky with Ram as he was extremely kind, patient and calm. Throughout the trip our opinion did not change, he was knowledgeable of the area and able to offer us alternative trekking and accommodation options. We had an amazing porter- Dipece. They were both fantastic and I would highly recommend them and Himalayas on foot.

The day we arrived in Nepal, we met Surendra at Maya Boutique Hotel (very nice hotel in Kathmandu Thamel). We did not plan our trip in detail, but we knew most of the places we wanted to visit. Surendra sat down with us and within some minutes, he had a perfect route outlined and offered us a very good package for around two and a half weeks. He also gave us some good advice on transport choices and added some must sees to our list. We booked most of our trip right away and were very happy with the itinerary, the guide, drivers etc. so we would book again with Surendra anytime. Also the Maya Boutique Hotel is very well located and has nice rooms and absolutely great staff.

This tour was fantastic and efficiently organised. Seeing Khatmandu, Chitwan and Pakhora sprinkled with some once in a lifetime experiences was the perfect blend of experiential and relaxing holiday we needed. Surendra was a fantastic host in Khatmandu and the mastermind of organising the trip, any request was answered via WhatsApp throughout our trip, even when we left Khatmandu for the other destinations. The staff at Maya Boutique hotel were friendly and accommodating, Ayush deserves a special mention as he took me to an authentic Nepalese eatery that felt like a real hidden gem in his own time. Rajan was our Khatmandu guide and he was so friendly, informative and a great laugh. Falgon our driver for the whole trip was fantastic and was always there when we needed him. White water rafting was also great and a must add on to the trip. This was honestly the best Nepal holiday I could have asked for and completely hassle free.
PS bring travel sickness tablets for some of the drives as the roads can be bumpy.

There are so many travel companies to choose from in Nepal, but I am really grateful to have been connected with this company! They were very responsive from the start via WhatsApp, which put me at ease, especially as a solo female traveler. I felt well taken care of during my travels to Kathmandu and throughout the ABC trek.
My guide Deepak was wonderful; really positive, hospitable, attentive and communicative. He picked me up from the airport, went trek shopping with me (since I wasn’t prepared and it was my first trek), and explained a lot about what I can expect throughout the trek. I also hired a porter and he was very kind as well. Overall really grateful to have spent time with them, especially since our trek lasted through the holidays and new year.
I highly recommend Himalayas on Foot and would use them again the next time I visit Nepal.

There was 13 of us in our group that trekked with Himalayas On Foot and we were with them for 11 days. We had 2 guides, Dipak and Yaka, along with 7 porters that helped to carry our large bags from teahouse to teahouse. Each and every one of the guys were amazing, very friendly and helpful. Yaka and Dipak are always there to help, no matter what it is, Yaka never stops, he's constantly on the move and waiting to help anybody, both of them helped some of the others carry the rucksacks too whenever they were struggling a little. Both guides spoke good English and explained the area along the way. The owner of the company was also very kind and helpful, his hotel was very nice and he made us feel at home and again couldn't do enough for us. Once we arrived back in Kathmandu, the owner took us out for a lovely meal, just a few minutes walk from his hotel, to a lovely outdoor restaurant and he paid for it all. They are an amazing company and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a trek through the Langtang Valley. Thanks for everything guys!

Being able to face my body. You can prioritize what you feel in your body. The temperature in the city is constant, the light is constant, and the roads are flat.
But, Nature is always changing. I felt that my body corresponding to that was changing moment by moment. Surrounded by greenery, I felt that various creatures were alive. It's not a tough trekking course.
There were few people during this rainy season, so I enjoyed Nature.
Yaka Simkhada, an experienced guide, also helped me out when I had altitude sickness.
But, Nature is always changing. I felt that my body corresponding to that was changing moment by moment. Surrounded by greenery, I felt that various creatures were alive. It's not a tough trekking course.
There were few people during this rainy season, so I enjoyed Nature.
Yaka Simkhada, an experienced guide, also helped me out when I had altitude sickness.

The tour organised by Surrendra was fantastic. He organised everything from start to finish, asking us what we wanted to do and making suggestions of the best routes. We saw many temples, explored Kathmandu, went to see the Sunrise and hiked down the mountain, explored the Chitwan national park, went white water rafting, visited Pokhara and much more. Our driver Falgon, could not be faulted, he was always on time and was kind and friendly. Our guide Rajan knew his stuff and answered all questions we had. The staff at Maya Boutique were helpful and friendly. They all simply couldn’t do enough for us - it was fantastic! We had a WhatsApp group before and during our trip, where questions were efficiently answered and all details were shared. Could not recommend this tour more! They were phenomenal.

I just came back from a 5days trekked during 14-18 feb 2018..
I used to worried about carry lots of cash to pay but after knowing the charging fee of 4% ,I preferred cash!!
the cash deposit on the first day was to ensure that guide and porters are not working for free while they have to buy a domestic flight and to pay all accommodation during trips for us and for them self...
