There were two of us from Singapore and we went for a 5-day Poon Hill Trek with Trekking Mart.
It was a most unforgettable experience! Our guide Bijan and porter took care of us well throughout the trip. Everything was well arranged so we could focus on enjoying our walk. Bijan was even kind enough to make bamboo walking sticks for us along the way!

We walked through deep valleys, mountain passes and ancient forests. Although we made some minor changes to our itinerary upon arrival in Nepal, Gopal helped us to take care of it and arranged for something that met our budget.

Overall it was a rather customisable package at an affordable price. If you're thinking of going for a trek with Trekking Mart, you're in good hands!

A couple of friends and I wanted to tack a short trek in Nepal onto a business trip to Delhi. I contacted a bunch of agencies in Kathmandu and the itinerary and price point from Trekking Mart looked to be our best option. Pretty much everything was included apart from drinks.

We were met at Kathmandu airport by our guide Bijan who stuck with us and was great for the whole trip. We were driven to Hotel Address in a great location in Thamel, Kathmandu where we met Gopal (owner) who took us through our itinerary. We were then left to settle in a explore Thamel before being met by Bijan for dinner at
Thamel House Restaurant.

In the morning we were driven to Sundarijal where we started our days walk to Chisapani. The walk was fairly challenging being almost entirely uphill and up fairly steep stairs. Not technical but quite tiring. Stopped for a lovely lunch and had an amazing night in a lovely tea house in Chisapeni. Very basic, freezing cold, hard bed, but worth it for the remoteness. Woke up early for spectacular sunrise over the mountains on the horizon.

The second day was a longer walk but mostly flat from Chisapani to Nagarkot. Again lots of great views and lots of friendly locals going about their daily business. A great chance to see what rural life is like in Nepal. Nagarkot was pretty big and overly touristy. We stayed in a tired old hotel called View Point Hotel which was pretty poor, but to be fair we stayed in the old part of the hotel which had not been damaged by the 2015 earthquake (the newer part of the hotel was not in use at the time of our visit due to damage).

On the last day we were driven from Nagarkot back to the airport which was the end of visit to Nepal. Whilst we did stop at a buddhist temple on the way back, we could probably have squeezed a bit more into this day as we ended up spending three hours in the not very inspiring kathmandu airport departure lounge.

Overall the trip was excellent and ticked all the boxes I'd hoped for. Trekking Mart did an awesome job! Bijan was great, very informative and friendly.

Thank you. We truly appreciate your wonderful comment over your last visit into the remote countryside of Nepal. Chisapani and Nagarkot are some of best short trekking destinations nearby Kathmandu recommended by many travelers. We're happy that we could successfully guide you. Please let us know if there is any point we can improve to make our service better. We welcome your valued advice.

For:
• Gopal & Ashish were very helpful both on-line when organising trip, and then once in Kathmandu
• Good itinerary & really excellent guide
• Good value, didn’t try to screw us on Exchange rate
• Organised Chitwan side trip at short notice
• Kathmandu hotel was close and comfortable
• Organised good sleeping bags & down jackets and happy to help with anything else that we needed

Against:
• We were only in a small group of only us 2 where as we would have preferred to have shared the adventure with other similarly minded people. We did meet a lot of friendly people on the trek and in the Lodges.
• On a couple of occasions, we were the only people in a Lodge which is a bit quiet and boring.

On balance, Gopal & Trekking Mart provides very good service, an excellent range of itineraries and at reasonable costs, so we would definitely use them again & strongly recommend them to others.

We were a party of 6 Ma, Pa, daughter and partner and son and partner (not teenagers but TA doesn't give another suitable option)Trekking Mart organised our travel arrangements throughout Nepal based on our preferred itinerary and it all worked splendidly. A couple of minor issues were sorted out extremely promptly. The service was excellent and the attention Gopal (the owner) and Ashish gave us was brilliant. Transport, hotels, paragliding, white water rafting all arranged and executed seamlessly. Gopal even arranged a last minute visit for 2 of us to Bhutan, which also went very well, normally 3 - 6 months pre arrangement is needed. Gopal, Ashish and Trekking Mart are highly recommended by me. Frank Clarke

We booked on the 6 day Poon HIll trek with Trekking Mart, and what a fantastic time we had! The staff couldn't do enough for us, we were taken care of from the moment we arrived in Nepal, until the moment we left. The price we paid for our trek was an absolute bargain, when we considered how much we got; our own private guide and porter, 3 meals a day on the trek itself and breakfast in Kathmandu & Pokhara, airport transfers and a guided city tour with private car and all accommodation. Not only that, but Bidjan made us feel welcome, and said he was available to us at anytime if we wanted showing around, or fancied some local help if we wanted to do some shopping! The hotels were far superior to what we expected as well! Free wi-fi, air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, everything you'd expect from a western hotel, but with all the Nepali kindness that we grew to love! Our itinerary was also very flexible, and we opted to stay an extra night in Pokhara when our trek had finished (in order to go paragliding and see the lake more), instead of the sightseeing that we would have done in Kathmandu, This was all arranged after we'd already arrived, last minute, with quite literally no hassle or questions asked. We particularly enjoyed the company of Gopal, who treated us to a traditional Nepalese dinner on the day we arrived. Though he is clearly a very professional businessman, we learned that Gopal also contributes 10% of his business' profit into helping unprivileged children, who do not have access to education. Rest assured that your money is being spent well. Our guide was also fantastic, and I must thank him for staying patient when I was walking slowly at the back!

Trust me, booking with Trekking Mart is the best thing you could do.

Thank you for such a wonderful experience Gopal and all the team at Trekking Mart. when we return to Nepal, we will be in contact with you!

From the moment I contacted Trekking Mart from the UK for suggestions of places to visit during my first trip to Nepal until the completion of my travels, I have been met with responsiveness, flexibility and courtesy. Mr Gopal remained flexible to our changes in plans before leaving the UK, and accommodated our wishes to produce a very personalised round tour. Bishan, assigned as a guide to us (two women) immediately established a very good rapport. Nothing was too much trouble for him and he proved an excellent companion and support during illness acquired from a voluntary work assignment prior to the trip. We felt secure in his company and felt that we had acquired a 3rd friend for our trip, He was also a fantastic and willing photographer and genuinely seemed to enjoy searching out those special shots. Our driver, Raju, was a careful and considerate driver and also revealed himself to be very personable with a quiet humour. We both felt strongly that our trip round Nepal was enriched by the presence of Bishan and Raju. When we said goodbye to Bishan at the airport it was like saying goodbye to a good friend.

> Trekking Mart is a socially responsible company. Mr Gopal has been putting considerable efforts for some years into supporting his local district in Nepal and is currently supporting the building of a school for the children of this area. Any traveller to Nepal who cares about these things would be supporting him in his endeavours by looking to Trekking Mart for their travel/trekking plans.
>
> I intend to return to Nepal and will definitely contact Mr Gopal and Trekking Mart to help me with future travels in their lovely country

We were group of 5 person (2 male and 3 female) going to Nepal trekking recently within 15-26 of Feb, 2014. It was an awesome period as we could experience the snowing scene and it was not the real cold; approx 5~6 degree minimum. We had 3 nights in Kathmadu, 2 nights in Pokhara and 6 nights in the Annapurna Range. Our trekking guide -- Mr. Bijan was a nice and cheerful guy and he spoke good English. We went for the trek together with 2 porters - Nara (able to speak Malay) and BJ (a little bit english).

This was our trekking schedule: Pokhara -- Birethani (1037m) -- Ulleri (2073m) -- Ghorepani (2850m) -- Poonhill (3210m) -- Tadapani (2830m) -- Jhinu (1760m) -- Pothana (2010m) -- Fedikuna -- back to Pokhara. Throughout the journey, we were never expect 3-star hotel with good quality of food, room service, wifi, electricity, hot shower. But surprisingly, we had it all in all tea houses. Of course, minimum charge was required if you were to use the services, for eg. 200 Rp for wifi service, 100 Rp for hot shower. This was valuable especially when you were in tiring status and coldness.

The highest peak that we climbed was PoonHill. We were able to see the full view of Annapurna range including Annapurna south, Hiunchuli, fishtail etc. There were too many hill names and i could not remember it all. Beware of the slippery land if you were stepping on the icy floor. It was real hurt when we felt on it. From our experience, these are the important items you should bring with you during the trekking: torchlight, windbreaker/jacket, good trekking shoe, altitude sickness pills, vitamin C, water purification pills and don't forget the Tissues. You may use them often.

Also, i will recommend Bijan to be the trekking guide because he is funny and interesting. He taught us basic nepali language throughout the journey. "Ma timro des lai Maya gorcu" -- I love your country, Nepal :). Sometimes, the word may turn out other meaning if you say "koti pasai oh?" -- How much is this? We had a good fun learning the language and trekking in Nepal. I will definitely go back for Everest base camp (EBC) trek again -- one of my life goal.

I went trekking last October on a solo trek for 10 days to Langtang Valley. Due to the short time window I researched some trekking companies and found Trekking Mart. The company is run by Gopal who personally ensures your every safety and wellbeing and I felt taken care of from the onset. Although I usually dont use agencies, this one is an exception and I was not wrong.
I went trekking in awful rainfall for the first 4 days up the valley with my guide KB and my porter Bise, two amazing guys with whom I had so much fun. They were humble in every aspect but caring to the max, ensured I was being treated royally ! They deserve all respect and all praise as we trekked up thru pouring rain to a height of 3800m at Kyanjin Gompa. Our summit attempt to a 5000m peak was denied due to heavy snowfall and we had to turn back just a mere 200m below the summit.
All in all it was a great 10 days with great Nepali company and organised by Trekking Mart, a company I can only recommend for any kind of Trekking you may intend to do in Nepal.
I will return yet again to Nepal, and will seek again Gopal's invaluable advise and choose my porter and guide again, them being the two amaznig guys I shared 10 unforgettable days with.
