Everest Base Camp Trekking

Everest Base Camp Trekking will give us massive pleasure to introduce you to an amazing Mt. Everest view of the world's highest peak. Perhaps in viewing Everest in this way, you will be satisfying a long detained wish. Without hesitation you will never be quite the same again. Forever since the days of early climbing Everest expeditions, this 8,848m mountain has had a lure of its own, drawing climbers to scale it and trekkers to look on its icy faces.

We begin our trek from Lukla after a 30 minute flight from Kathmandu. When we land at that miniature airstrip of Lukla, the adventure really begins. During trekking, we spend several days moving through the homelands of the Sherpa people, and will see Buddhist monasteries in Tengboche, Panboche and close up views of Mt. Everest and adjoining Ama Dablam, measured by many to be among the most attractive mountains in Nepal.

Booked with Green Valley Nepal for a trek to EBC and then Island Peak. Besides the basics like none of your tea-houses are booked ahead, it depends on how much your guide wants to pocket himself and how much he wants to spend on you. My partner got sick after EBC and we had to cancel our second half to Island Peak. GVN refused to refund ANY of the money (we had to pay cash upfront), even though more than half was for food and daily accommodations not made. I understand paying guides and rental companies, but our guide Jami literally had 70% of our entire cash payment in his hand when we flew on the helicopter away and he only guided us 1/3 of the trip. Nothing was ever “pre-arranged”, Jami paid for food and tea houses day of based on rates and what he wanted to pay. The majority of our cash payment was this money- so why not at least refund it the money COMPLETELY unused? Pretty disgusting to keep thousands from people sick and having to pay for medical coverage at that.

Green Valley trekking made my time in Nepal the most positive experience of my life. Before I got there Arjun (one of the managers) was incredibly responsive to all my questions and helped me figure out timing, the packing list, and made sure I had all the information I could possibly need for a successful trip. Arjun was friendly, courteous, and helpful, and made sure I arrived safely in Kathmandu and even took the time while I was in Kathmandu before the trek to show me the sights in the city. Once the trek began, our guides, Biru and Keshar, would brief us every morning on the elevation change, the distance and approximate time that we would be hiking that day, and where we would be stopping along the way. They also made sure that on the rest days we still did small day hikes to improve acclimatization. Biru and Keshar were friendly, open, and incredible guides, both of whom I would highly recommend to anyone considering doing an EBC trek. Overall, Green Valley trekking employs wonderful guides that are a joy to spend time trekking with, will make sure that you have the tools you need to succeed, are responsible and safe about planning the altitude acclimatization, and will give you an unforgettable trekking experience. Highly highly recommend.

This was our second time using this company. The service as always is the best. From our initial email to KP with basically the dates when we arrive to the day we fly out he came up with a great itinerary for us. KP believes in customer service and delivers. Our guide and porter could not have been more enjoyable to spend time with and experience this part of their country with. Big thanks to Big Raj and Little Raj. As our trip went on things did not go as planned. The weather had changed so we could not do everything we wanted. Every night we would look at other options if we needed to fill some days. Alway had great suggestions from Big Raj. When we needed to leave the country in a hurry because they were closing the Airport KP arranged flights back to Kathmandu so we could deal with this. With out KP’s help we would have been stuck in Nepal. For our next trip to Nepal we know who we will be in contact with.

Our dealings with Green Valley have been fantastic and above all expectations. The owner, KP, has been extremely helpful from the onset: answering detailed questions, helping us craft our itinerary and providing sound advice even before we confirmed any business with him. Our original intent was to hike on our own but we were swayed by his eagerness to help and the fair pricing of his services to hire his company It only got better from there on, all thanks to the unmatched service and attention of our guide Dipak. He has been everything one could wish for and more: -every day, he proactively shared an overview of the next day’s itinerary embedded with his suggestions, all the while remaining fully adaptable to our preferences should there have been reason to make changes -a trusted reference towards the best meals and beds along our route; he has tried them all, and systematically oriented us towards the best choice based on what we wanted (e.g. which place had the best views, or the most comfortable room, or availability of ensuite bathrooms, or heated dining room, etc.) -dedicated to our safety: having studied the weather patterns, he insisted we buy crampons in town before we left... as it turned out, we were one of the few who had them on the trails where they were dearly needed, while others (with less far-sighted guides) were struggling to stay on their feet along treacherously icy paths -to top it all: friendly, funny and ever enthusiastic, giving us good laughs throughout Based on this, we have only one piece of advice for any trekkers heading to Nepal: reach out to Green Valley, and ask for Dipak!

I couldn’t recommend this company more highly. Green Valley are focused on safety and your comfort, both very important! Our trek leader Ghopal was amazing, always looking after us and very experienced. Really great value for money. In early November 2019 my partner, his uncle (who is over 70) and I did a 3 week trek over 3 passes. We were joined by a lovely girl Mel and the 4 of us always felt safe and looked after. Arjen organised everything very well for us, picking us up at the airport and helping sorting out any issues we had. He listened to our requests - like flying back to Khatmandhu from Luke’s - and met them all where he was able. It was freezing at night but Green Valley provided the warmest coats and sleeping bags. The view were awesome and the sense of achievement was huge. Although I didn’t enjoy the altitude, Ghopal kept me going and was always cheerful and supportive. Teahouses were good, weather amazing, how lucky we were. Thanks to the Green Vallley team, you are amazing and we hope to be back to see you one day.
