Just finished my 17days trip to EBC + Gokyo. Overall experience with HMA was excellent, my guide (Pasang) was great and very helpful throughout the entired trek. HMA (Nirma and her father) has gone above and beyond to make my trip in Nepal enjoyable and memorable. I would recommend HMA to anyone who would like to trek or traveling in Nepal.

Nirma from Himalayan magic was very responsive and answered all our questions clearly. He organised our guide “pasang” . We had not booked any tea houses as we wanted to be flexible and pasang was super and he got us great accommodations in tea houses once pasang knew our specifications- like individual rooms with toilet and hot shower . We did EBC/ kalapathar/ cho la pass and gokyo & gokyo ri and back to lukla in 13 days. Once back in Kathmandu we got Nirma to organise transport to bharatpur and patan Durbar day trip. This is one of our best treks in our lives and it was only possible because of pasang and our great porters “ karma & temba”. This trek gave us a great introduction to multi day higher altitude treks and after Kilimanjaro we are thinking of coming back to do some more treks like to mera trek and island peak , god willing. When we come back I would without hesitation contact Nirma and use Himalayan magic to organise our treks.

I did an amazing EBC trek from Phaplu to Lukla with Himalayan Magic Adventures in early March 2020, probably one of the last treks that were completed before the country went into lockdown due to Covid-19. Nirmal was incredibly kind and helpful in setting everything up at very short notice, picking me up at the airport, catering to my wish to travel by Jeep to Phaplu on the way out and arranging the best guide I could have imagined: Pasang, a very pleasant and kind person and a very knowledgeable and patient guide, who took me safely up to an already deserted EBC and down, explaining the name of every mountain and sharing lots of details about life in the mountains, taking pictures of me and patiently waiting until I had taken enough, picking nice guesthouses, being great company for almost three weeks - and all of this while Covid-19 slowly developed into an increasingly worrisome pandemic. When I got stuck in the sudden Nepalese lockdown in Lukla, Pasang checked on me regularly and Nirmal went out of his way to try and help get my luggage to make it to a repratriation flight in time. I am extremely grateful to both Nirmal and Pasang and very much hope that they will soon be able to take trekkers to the mountains again!

Communication by email and at the office was good and helpful. Lakpa Sherpa, the guide they provided for me, was able to navigate the Everest Three Passes through heaps for snow in the heart of winter like it was nothing.

I chose Himalayan Magic Adventures again for another Nepal trek and all went just as well as previous treks with HMA. I was undecided about where to trek until on the flight to Nepal. I had discussed options with Nirmal beforehand and he gave good advice replying to questions promptly and I chose the guide with Nirmal who wanted to know what qualities I was looking for (experience generally and on the trek i would eventually choose. I emailed Nirmal from Doha airport on the Saturday evening and asled him to book a flight to Lukla on Monday morning. He came good. Having been to EBC and Gokyo a few times already, I trekked the Bhote Koshi valley to Thame and around including part way towards Nang Pa La and spent several days at Lawudo Gompa. After reaching namche there was a lot of snow that slowed walking down and meant I could not reach my intended goal. The Bhote Koshi valley was beautiful under a blanket of snow and setting out on a few day hikes from Thame almost made up for being unable to reach Nang Pa La. This did mean more time at Lawudo. The guide was just right for me because he was experienced and knew the area well, had trekked it many times (he was from the Khumbu), was ready to answer questions but di dnot speak too much (thankfully) and gave good advice about the state of the trail and weather. Nirmal kept in touch from time to time without phoning (or trying to) every day and came to see me after the trek to check how it went. This level of servcie was appreciated on a previous trek when he pulled me out of a self-dug hole.) I keep on eye on typical trek costs including the daily rate for guides, permits and flights, i also check with other agencies, HMA's price was competitive; better than most and as good as others.
