Dear Trekkers, we were one of the few people that wanted to travel during the Covid 19 Pandemic. Organising the trip from the Uk was made exceptionally easy by Bashu who never failed to reassure and prepare everything our embassy needed for us to come across. From transfers to full itinerary of our 6 day trek was organised by Bashu and his very kind team. Our trek was fantastic, we were so looked after as we are not seasoned trekkers so they did everything they could to make us feel more comfortable. We can’t thank them enough. Our guide Raj and helpers were just amazing, we had a lot of fun. Even when returning down the mountain I had strained my back which meant walking was agonising but Raj carried my day pack and reassured me all the way that I could go as slow as I liked without making me feel a burden on anyone. Thank you we recommend you to everyone wanting a really authentic experience of Nepal at very reasonable prices. We had a wonderful time and we will be back! 😀

We booked a trekking tour from Lukla to Gokyo Ri at the German Agency moja Travel. Footprint was the nepali partner who did the trip with us and provided the guide, accomodation and transfer from and to Kathmandu.
We were very surprised about the really good organization of all activities. We as Germans are know for our precise time scheduling. And I must say, the guys from footprint did almost everything with German precision :-)
Our agency contact person Basu was very kind and did all transfer preparation perfectly. One of the highlights was the helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Lukla with gave us not only a great feeling and overview to the Nepali region but saved us a lot of boring travel time by bus to the Ramechhap as we had it on our return path.
Bhuban our guide on the complete trekking tour was very experienced and gave us insides to the Nepali culture, to the mountains around and the way of walking in the mountains - "slowly, slowly".
It was a great experience for all of us.
And we want to thank Bhuba, Basu and the whole Footprint team!

I did the ABC trek with Bashu and it was just fantastic! Bashu is fluent in English and German and had in depth knowledge on all related questions that our group had on our trek. I will certainly come back to Nepal again and would book another trip with him in a heartbeat!

We had planned to go to India for the first two weeks of our trip and would spend the next two weeks in Nepal. I wanted to trek the Himalayas. It had been a remote possibility since childhood from a scout leader that taught me the love of backpacking. He had traveled the would and only dreamed that one day it would be possible.
My wife found Nepal Footprint Holiday through Indian Tribal Tours and Mr. Panday was a great blessing in our travels. He planned a ten day trek to Everest Base Camp and we stayed in tea houses along the way. We a wonderful guide Shyam Tamang and a porter name Bicrum.
Our plan was to carry our equipment so we had down sized to a very small package load which turned out completely fine. The amount of gear that most were having porters carry was completely unnecessary.
By Namche Lora's knee had gone bad so we had to change things. The porter stayed with her and the guide continued with me to base camp. All of this was worked out and the trip was great. Lora had the rest time so she able to hike back to Lukla and injoy the trek. Panday with Nepal Footprint Holiday was perfect and the adjustments allowed us to have a great experience. They were able to do the trek a price far below the American based companies.
Thanks for the dream come true,
Max and Lora Collins

PACK LIST less than 30 pounds
-PACK 60-70 liters with pack cover.
-Down sleeping bag rated to 0 degrees Celsius.
-Mid weight down coat.
-Mid weight fleece coat.
-Two pair of mid weight long John's.
-Three pair of wicking socks.
-One wicking tee shirt.
-One trekking pant.
-Sun hat, insulating cap with neck coverage and thin insulating cap.
-Two bandanas. For protection around your face in the sun, blowing your nose and as napkin at meal time. Paper only ends up on the trail everywhere.
-One roll of toilet paper in zip lock bag.
-One pair of sandles.
-One pair of hiking shoes. I wore the Altra Lone Peak and they were great with the zero drop for altitude adaptation. No heavy boots because for every pound on your feet it creates five on your back. That is way the porters used light shoes even with heavy loads.
-Rain jacket and pant which can be worn when you wash your trekking pant. It also will take you below freezing as a thermal layer.
-Small gators.
-Two one liter water bottles for water treatment and to put one inside your coat during cold temperatures.
-Iodine or UV light water treatment so that you only have to carry one liter of water at anytime. There is plenty of water, just have ways of treating.
-Small first aid kit.
-Small pack towel.
This allowed me to carry all my own things anywhere we went.

We found Nepal Footprint Holiday Treks on Trip Advisor and e-mailed them with vague details of our trip. It took a few e-mails on our part to finalise the details, but each message was answered quickly and helpfully. A personalised trek for the 2 of us was recommended and well-worth it (mainly because the guide could go at our pace during the trek).

Our entire 12-day trip to Nepal was with Nepal Footprint Holiday Treks. This included:

Airport transfers
Our international transfers were by Bashu who made us feel very welcome with a Nepali flower garland. We also had transfers from our trek Guide Raj, who was also very friendly.

Kathmandu
During our days in Kathmandu we stayed at the Thamel Grand Hotel which was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was good and the lassi drinks were amazing (especially the avocado one)! Nepal Footprint Holiday Treks also arranged a wonderful Nepali evening for us, where we went for a traditional meal and saw some Nepali dancing which was great. They also organised a guided tour of Kathmandu. This was well arranged and we had some really good food but it was a bit of a information overload! It was great to see the architecture of Syambhunath Buddhist Stuppa and Patan Durbar Square Architect Palaces. However, despite its UNESCO World Heritage status, we didn't enjoy visiting the cremation platforms at the Pashupatinath Hindu Temple.

Trek
We did a 5-day trek to Poon Hill in the Annapurna Conservation Area, which gave us some fantastic views of the Himalayas. We couldn't recommend our English-speaking guide, Raj and our porter enough. Raj was a wealth of knowledge, gave us advice on the best food to eat (and made sure we were the first to eat of all at the teahouses each night!), arranged extra blankets overnight, aided us on the trek by offering a supportive hand and sometimes even carrying our rucksacks. Our porter also, despite speaking very little English, was always encouraging and jolly. Unfortunately one of us had the runs during the last 2 days and so asked to cut the trek a day short (we had planned a 6-day trek) and Raj arranged this for us, including an off-road bus journey. If you do a trek, remember to take your camera, hand sanitiser gel and plenty of toilet paper. If you do you Poon Hill Trek, we'd greatly recommend you include walking to natural hot spring which was bliss after days of trekking!

Pokhara
We stayed at the Crystal Palace Hotel while we were in Pokhara, which catered well for trekkers, but the food wasn't great and the service for food was slow. Our time in Pokhara included a boat trip on Pokhara Lake and a free day, greatly recommended to chill after trekking.

Thank you Nepal Footprint Holiday Treks for a great trip to Nepal!

This is my first time to Nepal, and after a few researches I choose Nepal Footprint because Bashu is very helpful. Even though we met the earthquake, Tulsi (our guide) is very helpful and guide us through everything. He even called his friends on our destinations to make sure that these places are safe.

We couldn't go to Jomsom as planned, but we do enjoy our trip together with Nepal Footprint.

Me and my wife went to Nepal in April, planning to do the Poon hill trek on our own, without a guide or porter. However, we needed someone to talk to about the conditions of the trek and the required equipment. So we chose Nepal Footprint Holiday based on the reviews. Bashu and his friends booked the flight to Pokhara for us (for a standard fee), and also helped us rent the equipment, and really went out of their explaining a lot of things, not charging anyhing! We discussed many details over email, and then met several times for a friendly chat over a cup of masala tea. We had a great time! Bashu and his colleagues seemed very professional to me and they are also really nice people, and I wouldn’t hesitate to do a larger trek with them.
