Last month (Nov 22) I travelled with 4 friends to do the Annapurna Base camp (ABC) trek from Nayapul. The trip was superb with stunning views, made better as it snowed the day before our final leg up to ABC. We had 4 sightings of Monkeys, a herd of wild Goats up on the mountain above us and many sightings of Golden Eagles, plus 2 snakes that got into one of the hot springs at Jhinu, whereupon everybody got out !!!!
The main reason our trip was so good was due to our guide Purna. The guy who organised our trip was on his 5th trek and he said that Purna was by far the best guide he had had. He always had a smile on his face, briefed us before the next days trek as to what to expect, would always phone forward to check on our next accomodation, looked after us when we got to our Tea House, ordering our food etc. More importantly, was he paced the days Trek superbly, didn't go too fast or too slow and never let the group split up. Purna was a credit to himself, but also his people and his country. Our Sherpas, Mr Prim, Soundra and Manuel were also very good, always smiling and friendly.
We had all kinds of weather from hot sunshine to rain, sleet and even a full on snow storm, but it was still excellent. Highly recommended, with the right guide.
