Good things first, it’s only reserved for tourists, the food is free and so are the drinks (provided you push the staff), there are dance performances which you can watch for entertainment. Good things end here. The place is small, tables are old, staff is unhelpful, all the people who play are mostly regulars and it’s not easy to mesh with them, the tables are crowded so it’s difficult to place a bet, food is not worth the standard of even a medium hotel, in short it was a BAD experience.

This place is worth to visit in such expensive Kathmandu. You could enjoy Casino, Food & Liquor all at single Entry Price. Though its an old casino & it requires a renovation. Their housekeeping team is fantastic. F&B is also very nice but they have pathetic assistants for gaming zones. You will be VVIP if you have money else you will be ignored like anything. I have been to many casinos around globe but this is surprising for me. I made couple of friends but same was felt by everyone.

A couple of us went to this place which was quite clean and happening. We were treated very well and food and drinks were on the house. They also have a separate zone where there are live dances and in case you get tired of gambling that's the place you head to.
The only problem there was that the tables were not well managed and there were arguments galore at the Roulette tables.
The place is quite spacious and well arranged. Keep control of your gambling and you will certainly enjoy the night.

Almost like a market. No effort has been made to build a Casino-like atmosphere. Amazing thing is the variety of Shiva statuettes and art all across the Casino! Can only happen in South Asia! Use your nights to sleep in early and use the mornings to explore the city!

My first thought of casino in nepal was like low grade affair but it turns out that it has fun content.Casino royal is in Yak & Yeti hotel ground floor. Entry is free for Indian but they ask for your nationality proof, choose to go with voter ID card or Passport otherwise they could doubt you to enter.the most common game is roulette, min amount is 100INR. There are slot machines, where you will get 20 coins for 100 INR. There is a stage where live music & dance goes on & the high rich indian fly their money on dancers. There is buffet meal, which is not as per other casino standard. Waiter's & manager services are good.

Go with your friends to enjoy the evening and nights at the casino. You will enjoy the dancing troops too along with the wine.
The buffet food is not good, avoid it and go for ordered food and snacks. The place is filled with activities at night.

I was not sure about going to Casino Royale, there weren't very many reviews, and is low on the list of attractions for KTM. I did not have high expectations. But I was pleasantly surprised. There is a dress code posted outside that said "no half pants." I suppose being a westerner they decided to let me in despite wearing shorts. I guess I added to the diversity of the clientele. I was the only Westerner inside.
Casino Royale is dated. But it's Kathmandu, what do you expect. There are table games and slots. I don't bother with slots. There is baccarate, roulette, and blackjack. I played blackjack with an Indian who was dropping huge sums of money by the way. As the evening wore on, the casino was getting more crowded and popular mostly with Indians and Chinese, Koreans, etc. Despite the small number of reviews, the casino is quite popular.
The currency of play is the Indian Rupee. The minimum blackjack bet is 2 Rupees, and the maximum is 50, so low stakes and high stakes players are at the same table. I loved playing blackjack here, and won money. I found it a relaxing way to get free drinks and have a good time. I live in Saudi Arabia, a very restricted society, so I love places where I can drink booze for free and play low stakes games. There is a free buffet that is just so-so. There were some dance shows going on in the evening.
Contrary to what another poster wrote, there is absolutely not a fully stocked bar at the Casino Royale. I am picky sometimes about alcohol. I love sweet drinks like Bailey's on the rocks and Midori Sour. But here? No way. I also love Mai-Tais and Daiquiri's. But they only serve beer, wine, whiskey, scotch, vodka, and such. So I had to keep it real simple.
While playing blackjack I had beer and wonderfully strong screwdrivers. However no one was coming around asking us what we wanted to drink. I would have to ask casino employees just standing around observing the games. I felt awkward doing this. But they kept the drinks coming.
I loved playing here. We had to be vigilant over the dealer's actions. Occasionally he or she would make a mistake and we had to remind the dealer. It was a relaxed and nonstrict environment. The dealers don't constantly scold players on the correct handsignals and such. For free drinks, low stakes and fun, I could not ask for anything more. I take that back, they don't have poker tables. Oh well, we can't have everything we want can we now? The environment was very hospitable, fun, and relaxed. The casino is open 24 hours. I know people don't come to KTM to gamble. But I was wrong. I met some who do, but they weren't other westerners. I have heard there are other casinos at the Hotel Everest and the Radisson. I think gaming is a fun way to spend time in Kathmandu.

went to this casino on 17th and 18th july. overall a good place for time pass and gambling lovers but not much of fun. we just played few slot machines with tokens. all tables for card games were full of only gents and few foreigner ladies and most of them we having hard drinks over the games table. so hopefully such table not suitable for Indian ladies. dance floor does not impress at all. all songs being played there are only bollywood song and by untrained dancers with dummy and tired smiles
slot machine game are good but machines were too old. all staff at entrance were very welcoming and asks for id no to every guests for security purpose. even children are allowed for entry.
but the staff inside the casino including all girls who host the cards game seems like computers without any smiles or welcome impressions, they all seemed very tired.
food is complimentary for all visitors which is just ok, not too good and not bad also.
overall an average place to visit but for sure once you are at Nepal you can visit this place alteast once, but beware of what you play and you must keep control n your pockets because you may find many professional players too there. if going with kids sure kid will like slot machine game which are very reasonable rates. if you wish to return late night from casino beware taxi drivers in Kathmandu are just horrible and demands extra ordinary and not safe to travel in late night with family. good luck in advance if you plan to visit there.
overall an average place still can be visited once.
well, i have few ideas too by which this casino can still do much better and am ready to give my opinion and ideas if they approach me.

This casino is the best to me as the ambiance is great and the staffs are helpful and friendly. If you like to have some fun, go there but carry very less money. Enjoy the place!

The entry is free however you need your Passport for entry and also they do not have rooms connected. The casino is a part of Yak & Yeti Hotel and you may check the rates online.
