In April of this year I joined a group with Mountain Monarch going to Mera Peak. The owner Pradip had assembled an excellent crew of guides and porters for our trek.Everyone went out of their way to assure the safety of each participant. Everything was well planned from airport pickup to drop off. All equipment down jackets, sleeping bags, high altitude boots, crampons we're great quality and included in the price. Our guide Nima and assistant Pasan were proficient in their ability to guide us up to the top and safely back down. I was provided excellent support in helping me make it to the summit. At times having my own personal guide assisting me to complete the trek. I would definitely recommend MM to anyone planning a trip to Nepal I know my next trek to Nepal will be with them.

Is this Heaven? It's pretty close. Mountain Monarch headed by Chandra Rai and team made our experience knocking on heaven's door and smooth and comfortable as possible. They provided as many laughs as steps that it took for us to get from Kathmandu to Everest Base Camp. Why I like Mountain Monarch: 1-1 trekker to porter that you have the opportunity to get to know and talk to. Communication. From the start to the end, there was always someone answering questions, taking food and tea orders, and providing information necessary to have the most informative trip. Nepali history. A brilliant tour of the capital city capped off our trip. Best education received in a long, long time. Friendly. I can't say this enough. They take pride in accommodating and wanting you to be comfortable and at ease. For the amount of travel we did over the course of 10 days we only had one uncomfortable situation involving reserving our helicopter on the way back to Lukhla. We waited a few extra hours but whatever. We got back to Kathmandu safely. Thank you Mountain Monarch for your guidance and continued business of looking out for your guests. I want to come back! and do it again. Seems like already a dream. Namaste.

Our trek to EBC could not have been better organised. From start to finish nothing was left to chance and even though we decided on a private tour quite late, nothing suffered as a result. Our porters and guides were excellent throughout. Rumesh was a delight and led us at such a pace that none of us succumbed to altitude sickness save for a slight headache. Subash was a wealth of information, knowing the names of birds, animals, mountains and despite not having been in the mountains for a few years, did a terrific job with organisation all along the trek route. All teahouses were comfortable enough (we were in one of the most remote places on earth after all) and the food we found to be pretty good too. As for the trek itself, wow, it exceeded all our expectations. Despite the weather not allowing us great views of the peaks during the day, the early mornings were spectacular. Getting to EBC was, of course, the goal which, after plenty of training in the lead up, we achieved without sickness or injury. MM takes the Phortse high route and if you are looking for a single reason to book the EBC trek with MM, this might well be it. It is nothing short of spectacular both visually and mentally. Just do it and you'll see what I mean. Each daily destination on the trek was reached at the perfect time each day it seemed, giving us time to relax tired legs or see what we'd come to see. On at least two occasions, other tour groups were still making their way in long after we'd arrived and for them it often meant arriving in cold foggy conditions which we had avoided. The trek up to Kala Patthar was one such occasion. We arrived at the top at around 5am which meant we saw Mt Everest with no cloud cover. As per the weather pattern each morning, the clouds moved up out of the valley to envelope the peaks - Mt Everest included. Those that we encountered on our way down who were still on their way up would have missed it completely and with Kala Patthar being such a gruelling climb, that must have been disappointing for them. We enjoyed our trek so much, our plans to return are already underway. When we do, we'll be trekking with Mountain Monarch.

It is my second trip with Mountain Monarch (2018 and 2022). On both occasions I trekked with one of my two sons respectively to Everest Base Camp (both were 12 yrs old at the time). Fantastic and efficient service from Pradip and Mountain Monarch. They collect you at the airport and eventually drop you back there. We spent 2 days in Kathmandu (worth taking a guided tour - with Ram) on arrival and another 1.5 on return. Great to also get whatever trekking gear you want at a fraction of the price. The trek up to base camp and back must be experienced to describe. Surrounded by towering peaks, thundering rivers, rhododendron forests, suspension bridges, prayer flags and stupas left me with a sense of awe and pure enjoyment. Absolutely amazing! The trek requires some grit, but is not technically tough or massively physically demanding. Great guiding by Mingma Sherpa and the porters. Mingma is especially great if you consider going with your kids. They are safety conscious and thoroughly prepared and experienced. It is definitely do-able with your kids. An experience and bonding opportunity they will remember for the rest of their lives. I was hardly back home when I started yearning to go back - when I do, I shall be sure to contact Pradip at Mountain Monarch. Leon

This trip was a life changing experience. Mountain Monarch was perfect from the pickup at the airport to the drop off at the end of the trip. The owner Pradip was an excellent host at every level, from grating me at my arrival, to answering all my questions before, during and after the trip. The guides and the porters during the trek were also amazing, I felt secured during all technical part of the climbing. Ngima and his brother were great guide and was able to teach us a lot about Sherpa's culture since there are both from the region. I did Mera, Amphu Lapcha Pass and Island Peak during this trek. The route for those peaks was well design by Mountain Monarch, so much that we didn't feel any altitude sickness. I highly recommend this local company for any trek in Nepal. Thank you again for this amazing experience. Leo.
