Where to start! Before the trip, I did a lot of research for which comnpany to go with. Lots appeared to have mixed reviews or something about the itinerary which wasnt quite what I wanted. I came accross Mountain Monarch and they ticked every box. Speaking to their owner, Pradip, he was very helpful (and quick) at answering any questions/requests that I had. The reviews are pretty much ALL amazing, so I was a little suspicious! But everywhere you read reviews about them, they are faultless. So i booked on with them. Everything they promised, was delivered with exceptional service. I was picked up at the airport (I had been panicking a little as it took so long to get through the airport customs, but they were patiently waiting outside), then Pradip met me when I arrived at the hotel. The sightseeing was fantastic, led by Ram, the most cheerful and knowledgable guy I met on the trip! It was a great chance to bond with the group I would be spending the next few days/weeks with (some had differing itineries). We met our groups trekking guide Netra who talked us through the trip. Then the following morning we had an early start to get to Ramenchap. Unfortunately our Lukla flight was delayed due to weather, but Mountain Monarch arranged a hotel for the night and did all they could. We flew out early tghe following morning so it was no issue in the long run. Once at Lukla, I met another trekking guide who would stay with me all the way as I was the only one in the group doing base camp then IP. Ram is an absolute legend! By the end I would absolutely class him as a good friend. Both Netra and Ram worked so hard to make sure everything went smoothly for us. They always pre-booked our beds for the night, gave us great advice to stay healthy (which I did the whole trip), and were very adaptive to the pace of the whole group. The entire trip was such a great experience, and I can hand on heart say that Mountain Monarch played a big part of that. I will 100% be returning to Nepal, and I will not hesitate to use these guys again. Thank you so much for your hard work, it really makes the difference between a company that just wants your money, or a company that wants you to have the best time possible.

Our trek to EBC could not have been better organised. From start to finish nothing was left to chance and even though we decided on a private tour quite late, nothing suffered as a result. Our porters and guides were excellent throughout. Rumesh was a delight and led us at such a pace that none of us succumbed to altitude sickness save for a slight headache. Subash was a wealth of information, knowing the names of birds, animals, mountains and despite not having been in the mountains for a few years, did a terrific job with organisation all along the trek route. All teahouses were comfortable enough (we were in one of the most remote places on earth after all) and the food we found to be pretty good too.
As for the trek itself, wow, it exceeded all our expectations. Despite the weather not allowing us great views of the peaks during the day, the early mornings were spectacular. Getting to EBC was, of course, the goal which, after plenty of training in the lead up, we achieved without sickness or injury. MM takes the Phortse high route and if you are looking for a single reason to book the EBC trek with MM, this might well be it. It is nothing short of spectacular both visually and mentally. Just do it and you'll see what I mean.
Each daily destination on the trek was reached at the perfect time each day it seemed, giving us time to relax tired legs or see what we'd come to see. On at least two occasions, other tour groups were still making their way in long after we'd arrived and for them it often meant arriving in cold foggy conditions which we had avoided. The trek up to Kala Patthar was one such occasion. We arrived at the top at around 5am which meant we saw Mt Everest with no cloud cover. As per the weather pattern each morning, the clouds moved up out of the valley to envelope the peaks - Mt Everest included. Those that we encountered on our way down who were still on their way up would have missed it completely and with Kala Patthar being such a gruelling climb, that must have been disappointing for them.
We enjoyed our trek so much, our plans to return are already underway. When we do, we'll be trekking with Mountain Monarch.

What a trip! Four of us did the Three Passes Trek with Mountain Monarch, we are not a young group so knew this would be a challenge. Our trip was originally due to have taken place in 2020 and was cancelled twice, but finally we got there. We arrived at Kathmandu and were met at the airport and taken to our hotel where we stayed 2 nights. Pradip came to meet us and also took us out for a welcome dinner at a local restaurant. We spent a full day sightseeing with one of Mountain Monarchs guides which was very interesting and were then taken back to the airport to fly to Lukla. The flight there was great and we had a very exciting landing at Lukla, an experience to behold. Our guides Nima and Horizon met us at the airport and introduced us to our 4 porters, one for each of us. We set off on the first bit of our trek. The weather was text book perfect with amazing blue skies and we were wearing t-shirts during the main part of the day. As soon as the sun went down it became very cold, but we had been well briefed on which clothing to bring so were prepared. We also paid extra for the "best rooms" at the tea houses, which we were happy we did. The tea houses are very basic but we were well looked after and comfortable. We learned a lot about the area from Nima and Horizon, they were very strict with us and we went at a very slow pace in order to acclimatise properly. The walks up Renjo La and Cho La were hard long days, but reaching the top of the passes was spectacular. The views breathtaking. Likewise Gokyo Ri and walking across the glacier which was an amazing experience.
I sadly had a medical problem the day before the hike to EBC and was advised to descend which was very disappointing. Nima and Horizon were excellent in their care of me, Nima coming back to Luklar with my husband an me. Even though we had to cut our trip short, the two other members of our group carried on, it was an amazing experience and we achieved a lot. The trekking was hard but we expected that. The company of the guides, the people we met and exchanged stories with along the way all helped make the trip. Thankfully once back in Luklar I was fine, so we flew back to Kathmandu and stayed there a few days before returning home. Pradip, Nima and Horizon were fantastic and looked after us extremely well. I would recommend this company to anyone, it came recommended to us and they definitely lived up to the recommendation. Thank you so much Mountain Monarch for the amazing experience.

In April of this year I joined a group with Mountain Monarch going to Mera Peak. The owner Pradip had assembled an excellent crew of guides and porters for our trek.Everyone went out of their way to assure the safety of each participant. Everything was well planned from airport pickup to drop off. All equipment down jackets, sleeping bags, high altitude boots, crampons we're great quality and included in the price. Our guide Nima and assistant Pasan were proficient in their ability to guide us up to the top and safely back down. I was provided excellent support in helping me make it to the summit. At times having my own personal guide assisting me to complete the trek. I would definitely recommend MM to anyone planning a trip to Nepal I know my next trek to Nepal will be with them.

I spent December trekking in the Langtang valley which culminated in the ascent of Yala peak (5500m). In the lead up to the holiday, Pradip was very responsive to questions over email. During the trek, our guide Buddha was fantastic and took the utmost care to ensure our comfort and safety in extremely cold conditions. The trekking group consisted of just me and another friend, we had two other porters who carried our personal kit and climbing equipment. Lily was also a cook and did an amazing job of cooking Daal Baht and breakfast at Yala base camp, 4800m.

The Yala peak trek is extremely scenic with stunning views of the surrounding mountains. The beauty of the walk is that it is off the beaten path and so we enjoyed the peace and tranquility of the area.

We couldn’t believe from the moment we met our lead guide, Finjo, just how experienced, organised, and professional he was! He made us feel comfortable, taught us a lot about the culture of Nepal and would be more than willing to answer any questions that we had.

From the day one cultural dance, to the mountain top, our experience was next to none.

Arjun provides deep insight into the logistics of climbing with a generous offering on the cultural scape and information on anything to do with the land.

Finjo allowed us to move at our own pace and when he realised how excited we were and full of energy, he offered the option to peak at a different location which was fantastic !!

This experience from mountain monarch also encouraged us to be able to communicate with our porters, learn the Nepali language and just have an all round fun trip!

Thankyou MM ! We love you and we will miss you! Can’t wait until the next time

I travelled in a group of 7 total, with ages ranging from 38 to 56. We all completed the trek to Everest Base Camp and return hike to Pheriche where we took a helicopter back to Kathmandu. The entire trip was stress-free, thanks to our excellent guides and porters. All our accomodations and meals on the trek were included as well as arrangements to visit cultural sites along the way such as a Buddhist monastery in Tengboche and the Sherpa Culture Museum near Namche Bazaar. I would 100% recommend Mountain Monarchs for this trek and they will be the first place I look if we decide to return to do another trek in this region.

My husband and I traveled with Mountain Monarch for the first time in December when we took the Everest Panorama Trek, and we would strongly recommend them to anyone! The communication was excellent throughout (as we finalized arrangements, arriving in Nepal, etc.). Once we were on the trail, our guides, Finjo and Arjun, took great care of us -- both were very experienced and we always felt that we were in very competent hands. This is a terrific trip to take if you want amazing views of Everest and surrounding peaks, but don't want to go all the way to Base Camp. Price to value with Mountain Monarch is very impressive indeed. We look forward to traveling with them again!

We were a group of 2 dads and 2 sons doing the Annapurna Dhaulagiri trek which also included a couple of nights in Kathmandu, including a night out with CP, our lead guide and then a fascinating cultural tour next day. We then drove next day to Pokhara, stayed overnight, then on to 9 days of trekking before heading back to Kathmandu and very sadly onto the plane home.
During the entire trip we were looked after by CP and another guide Yam, with all the very heavy lifting done by two amazing porters, Jeet and Lile. We were looked after extremely well by the entire team and it was really hard to say goodbye to the team at the end after we had been through this incredible sometimes arduous, journey, (especially walking through the snow in a few places), seen some amazing sights and views, majestic mountains in the early morning sunlight, and not to forget the sight of massive rhododendron trees in full bloom at this time of year (March). We also saw a few rhesus monkeys and common langurs, plus a number of birds of prey flying below us!!
But with all these memories the strongest were spending time with our Mountain Monarch team and all the friendly and helpful Nepali people we met on the journey.

My friend and I booked at MM a Langtang 14 day hike through the National Park. Mountain Monarch was super: we gave Mountain Monarch our wishes and they made a beautiful, spectacular program of our ides. The guide was very pleasant, caring and super informed. MM picked us up from the airport and brought us back. Great service, good prices. If you want a great hike: Mountain Monarch!
