The Cashmere here is of really high quality. I am in the Cashmere trade and I was quiet astonished to see the kind of quality they were selling and at tempting prices. They had some kind of a sale going when I visited, even crazy price. I eneded up spending more than I had planned. That was the only negative.

Nepal is the country for cahsmere products.
The cashmere outlet at Durbar Marg is the place for cashmere products within Nepal!
Highest quality yarn used to create the finest and softest cashmere products.
The incredibly skilled and friendly people, working in that outlet, made my visit a great experience and I did purchase the best ever cashmere pullovers for very competitive prices.
Definately a place to visit.

We visited the Cashmere outlet upon recommendation from some fellow travelers. It was a great to pick up amazing quality cashmere products for affordable prices. The designs were great. But, what stood out the most was the quality of the cashmere. It was soft and nice. My sister picked up a few shawls and sweaters, while I picked up a few sweaters (Full and Have). I am really happy with my purchase. And, i recommend the store to anyone looking to by good quality cashmere products.

My partner and I went here on the basis of the reviews provided, which seemed glowing.
We were looking to buy men's sweaters, women's cardigans, and a couple of shawls as gifts.
Unfortunately we were in the shop for long enough to have checked out every garment on the racks, but still no 'namaste' or acknowledgment from the three sales staff.
The range was not as extensive as some of the smaller stores in Thamel, and the ticketed prices averaged 10 - 20% higher than the starting price for other outlets.
Overall, we were disappointed to have made a special trip to this shop.
I mentioned this to the staff as we departed, but received blank looks. Not sure if it was a language barrier, or if they simply didn't care. (It did feel a little like the Rodeo Drive scene from 'Pretty Woman' with hiking pants, fleece, and backpack changing up the look just a bit!)
Perhaps the experience would have been different had the owner been in attendance.

Dear Kara,
Thank you for your honest feedback.
I am really sorry for the poor courtesy extended at the store. This is certainly not normal and I will take all necessary measures to ensure our sales team is more attentive and courteous. Thank you for pointing this out.
The range in our store keeps changing and lately due to unexpected high sales this season we have not been able to replenish the stocks from our factory as we would have liked. However we are planning something new and in another 2-3 months we will have a completely different presentation at the store.
Price is a very sensitive issue with most of our clients and I don't want to elaborate much on this but I assure you, no one in NEPAL makes the pure and high quality we make. Barring 3-4 shops in all of NEPAL, no one sells Cashmere which is more than 80% pure and MOST don't even come that close. Even the 3-4 who sell pure cashmere don't come close to the quality levels we manufacture. If you want to know and understand more about Cashmere, please feel free to write to me on shakti@tricotnepal.com. I would be happy to share my knowledge with you.
My company has been in the Cashmere business for almost 20 years and I have a formal degree in Textile Management. I understand Cashmere like no other in Nepal and hence work with only the best quality. The store we have is only a factory outlet and we sell goods made from the extra yarn from the large orders we get from our clients all over the world including Australia.
Once again I apologies for the poor showing of my team and for any inconvenience this might have caused. Thank you once again for your feedback, it will help us improve our training and service standard.

This shop is my favorite in Kathmandu. I bought at least 20 scarfs and few sweaters. The quality, colors, style are outstanding. My sisters and italian friends, who received scarfs as presents, just love this brand and are impressed with quality. Prices are reasonably high, however. Just recently I found out that the boutique shop in Rome, Italy, which is located in the same building where I live, sells the same scarfs in terms of colors, style, and quality. But their prices were euro 20-30 lower than I paid in Kathmandu. The boutique owner told me that they also get their scarfs from Nepal. Maybe they get better deal for wholesale purchase. I agree with the reviewers on one point - I also find that staff are not service oriented and not particularly friendly. I assume some training for them would be useful.

Bought a 100%cashmere sweater/jumper. Although I have not 'authenticated' the sweater to tell if it was really cashmere, it felt wayyyyyyy softer and lux than what I have bought in small shops in Thamel. It was also pricier in the cashmere outlet -but I managed to snag a 30% discount- but I feel the price was justified as the piece seemed to be of high quality. I was also given a few pieces of cashmere shampoo sachet which I could use if I did not want to dry clean the item. The outlet is located in the city's ?CBD area and is not difficult to locate unlike most shops. The shop was empty when I was there and the salesperson was attentive. In a nutshell, I recommend this shop and will be back for more.

The cashmere outlet, located in Durbarmarg, Kathmandu is just amazing wow shopping place. I like most of the collection and bought so many designs of 100% cashmere and cashmere blend items. I found very reasonable price and sales person are cooperative. Every season I visit the shop with my friends and family. But shop is overcrowded in my every visit so I am irritated.

This place has moved to a new location at the entrance to the shopping area in Thamel, limited stock, not nicely kept. They call it a factor store but it is mostly at retail price and with a maximum discount of 15% if you ask, there is discounted stuff at the back which is very limited and not that nice and staff especially the lady at the counter had an attitude.

Hi. Thank you for your feedback. It is unfortunate we were not able to meet your expectations in terms of choice. I am also not happy about the fact you got some attitude during your visit. This is definitely not what we stand for and if you write to me in person about the incident, I would be happy to take look into it and provide more training to ensure this does not happen again.
We have been at this location since almost a year and just recently added the back section. Since this is a genuine factory outlet the stock changes from time to time and quiet dramatically during the tourist season. We are selling pure cashmere pullovers of high quality for as low as NPR 3000 (USD 26/28). These generally are retailing in Europe for close to USD 200. These are surplus stocks and some small quantity that we make from left over yarns from export orders. These prices are generally below manufacturing costs. The idea is to recover the cost of yarn and direct costs to move the excess inventory.
Then we have another range that we make for our in-house brand that we sell across the world and also starting online. These are not sold at factory prices but they are still marked much lower than what they sell for in the target markets. Typically they are marked 25-35% lower and we offer an additional discount of 5-15%.
As with most items, there is a variety of Cashmere on the market and we are definitely the best in Nepal. It’s unfortnate my team was not able to explain things to you.

Thank you for writing to us. We are in the process of building a website, however regulations in Nepal dont allow us to accept international credit cards. We are trying to find a solution, as soon as we do, we will have our website up and running. Please do keep a look out on our company website of Tricot Nepal.
