Coming for a class every evening was my way to decompress. A monthly pass that costs 8000 rupees granted me unlimited access to all classes. Sadly during the week I could only join the 6.15 pm one, but I had a chance to try different classes.
Speial thanks to Devyogini, a beautiful teacher from Iran, whose powerful voice and gorgeous locks are difficult to forget :). Bhuwan's classes were inspirational too. There were two other teachers, beautiful Eka from Indonesia, whose classes were full for a good reason, sadly she left for Europe and I had a chance to attend only two classes. Other teachers were also going off to do some additional training in India etc. My most consistent teacher was Devyogini and so my major thanks goes off to her.
I wished more classes had some background music and incense smells like one class we had.
The studio is conveniently located in Thamel and various options are available such as drop in classes, weekly passes etc. There is a lovely 'waiting area' and there are yoga clothing items on sale, which I sadly forgot to equip myself with.

They also organise Yoga retreats, but I was not very happy with the organisation due to sparse communication at one point with the management and so I gave up even though they did try to accommodate me on the next available one.

Anyways, a highly recommended place overall.

Love this place!
Dec 2019
I really loved coming here everyday during my stay in Kathmandu. Only 800 rupees (about $7USD) for a casual/drop-in class, with lots of membership and pack options as well! Had three different teachers across my time and they were all incredible - really knew their stuff, and were able to push me just the right amount. Wish I had this studio at home!

Great yoga classes!
Mar 2019 • Solo
I went to 3 yoga classes at the studio in Thamel and they were all great, even though very different as they really depend on the teacher. The number of people in class can vary a lot. For me, it went from 2 to 24. The studio is super nice, spacious and clean. They lend everything you need for the class (mats, blocks, cushions, blankets...) and the vibe is great. Classes were supposed to last 1h15 and 2 times we stayed 1h45 because the teachers are very much implicated. I had a class with Kanchan, Bhuwan and Ching. Kanchan took the time to explain philosophies behind yoga and how they impacted the assana’s. Bhuwan was very soft, put a great atmosphere, had an amazing voice, it was pure bliss. Ching managed extremely well the big group during class and came to personally correct everybody. I had a personal favourite for the class of Bhuwan (Vinyasa flow). When I left his class, I had a huge smile on my face and felt great. Don’t hesitate to go there!

Wonderful teachers, especially Sophie in the pokhara studio.
Apr 2017 • Solo
I bought the month unlimited pass which can be used in all three studios. Excellent value. I attended a few classes in Kathmandu and I thought all the teachers were very experienced and I really enjoyed the classes. I spent 9 days in pokhara and went to at least one class per day with Sophie. It was lovely to experience her calm and friendly approach to yoga, not to mention her wealth of knowledge. I enjoyed every minute I spent in her classes. Whether it was vinyasa or yin she has a away of making you feel present in the moment. Big thanks to Pranayama and especially Sophie in pokhara. Gail

Drop - in visit and retreat ☺
Mar 2016 • Solo
I first went to a Drop in class at the studio in Thamel, and after a really good class (amazing how the studio can calm Kathmandu down) I decieded to join for a 3-day trip to the monestry with yoga. The teacher Isabella was very good - both at explaining yogaphilosofi and teaching the asanas. Our host Daniella made sure we did not have to worry about a thing and the food, the rooms and the views were great!

Health is wealth

We decided to come here for a few days and got a lot of information. I learnt some exercises and still practice a few of them even today, whenever I get time. The teachers were very welcoming and provided a lot of information. It was just a mechanical routine but rather spiritual as the teachers taught a few other things too.

Westernized physical exercises not yoga
Oct 2013 • Solo
I went few times (so I haven't seen all the teachers, but many) to this studio and all times it rather reminded my "yoga" in western fitness centres. The programme is good designed to build physical strength and teachers are quite aware of different styles and small details of physical alignment etc However, yoga is not only about that, it is a lot about awareness, breathing, bringing physical relieves in your mind etc. None of that was there. So if you are willing to go for fitness type of yoga-go for it

Fantastic gem for yoga-lovers in Kathmandu
Jul 2013 • Solo
I tend to head straight for the nearest yoga studio in whichever city I visit, and absolutely loved this shala and the excellent teaching, friendly atmosphere and wonderful location. Being an Ashtanga aficionado I wasn't sure if a small city like Kathmandu would have much to offer in this lineage, but the Ashtanga teacher (Ellen) is a third series practitioner authorised by KPJYI (a big deal for us Ashtanga geeks) and I I felt I really learnt as well as practised. There are lots of other types of yoga offered there too, which I wish I'd had time to try, and the shala is well equipped and beautifully looked after. After class I loved being able to walk to the world-heritage stupa to soak up the atmosphere of Buddhist pilgrimage from the rooftop cafes - perfect yoga day.
