Tsum Valley and Manaslu Trek

The Tsum Valley, also known as the Hidden Valley a land of monasteries and hamlets with totally Tibetan population lies on the northern part of Manaslu on the Nepal-Tibet border and used to be a restricted area until 2008. Although the region lies within Nepal, the Buddhism influenced region is a world of its own. Traditionally, Tsum used to be a separate area different from both Nepal and Tibet. The Tsum Valley region is still less exposed in comparison to other tourist areas, with relatively virgin and less beaten paths in comparison to the more popular regions. The Tsum people have their own way of family life, which may be quite surprising for many outsiders. All the brothers in the family are married to a single girl, what you may call a practice of polyandry. Compared with other areas, The Tsum Valley and Manaslu area is full of imminent mountains, passes, deep gorges, hamlets, gompas, chortens, and mani walls.

We had a EBC trek organized by the Accessible adventure and it was amazing. We were able to organize everything from canada getting all the information we needed very quickly. They organized our trip exactly as we wanted and every detail was perfect. The staff (both the ones in the office and the ones who did the trekking with us) were very competent and careful. A great experience!!! For sure when I'll go back to Nepal I'll organize another trek with them!

Me and my partner had an excellent treking experience with Accessible Adventure. We did the two week everest base camp trek and had an absolutely amazing time. Everything about the trip was well organised from the tour of kathmandu before the trek (which took in 4 of the major sites and was extremely informative and fun) to the transport and accommodation throughout the trek. Our treking guide, Shiva, was really good, always making sure we were okay, he was really patient encouraging us to walk slowly, answering all our questions and he also took good care of us both when we got a little bit sick towards the end of the trip! The accommodation on the trek was basic of course but the places we stayed always seemed pretty nice compared to some of the other places around. Accessible were very accommodating, for example we had to put the trek date back just a few days before it started and they arranged this immediately with no complaints, answered all our questions throughout and were extremely organised and efficient (every time someone was suposed to collect us from somewhere they were on time with their Accessible sign, friendly and helpful) also they arranged to donate our unwanted treking clothes to a local orphanage for us. Accessible are a really great company with helpful staff, I would definitely use them again if I had the chance to return to Nepal.

I am glad that I decided to undertake the Everest Base Camp Trek. My partner and I both are avid hikers. Before this, we had never opted for trekking. Nepal was on our list of places to go for a long time, but we never got a chance to dwell on it due to work. But last winter, everything worked for us. And we decided it is time to visit Nepal. We both wanted to do trekking, but since Nepal's mountains are not easy for beginners, I was more leaning towards doing easy and short treks in Nepal. But my partner was so keen on doing the Everest Base Camp trek, so we agreed to the EBC trek. Even though we had decided on the hike, I was still skeptical about doing it because of its high-altitude nature. And when we found Accessible Adventure, we stated our concern to them as well. They were so helpful and informed them, and the trek is doable by the first-time trekker. They advised we got on training mode immediately as we still had few months left before starting the walk. Since I was the most concerned one, I paid most attention to building physical stamina. After months of training and waiting, it was finally time for the trek, and when we arrived in Nepal, Kathmandu airport, Accessible was warmly welcomed by the team. A day before the hike, Himal briefed about the walk, and the next day we got on the flight to Lukla. It was frightening but worthy of an adventurous experience. Our guide Himal, amazed us with his knowledge about the mountains. He always made sure we were comfortable on the trek and never rushed our journey. He instead obliged to approach the walk smoothly and slowly. As I was more conscious about getting altitude sickness, he shared many helpful tips to avoid altitude sickness. He was very patient and always answered whenever we had one too many questions to ask. And for that reason, we are thrilled we choose Accessible and have Himal for our trek. If it were not for Accessible, I would not be able to experience the trek's beautiful features. I am so thankful to Accessible for arranging this wonderful and unique. All the credits go to your fantastic team for our wonderful experience in the Himalayas. We will revisit Nepal and have your company plan our next trip!

We are very impressed and pleased with the EBC trek organised by Accessible Adventure - the process has been very seamless and Hari has been very responsive to our emails, including accommodating to our requests of staying the night at Ramenchap before flying out to Lukla the next morning. Himal's (our guide) professionalism, friendliness and thoughtfulness has been exceptional from start (picking us up at the Kathmandu airport) to end (when we left Lukla to Kathmandu). His advice on renting the duffel bag to prevent our backpacks from being dusty was very thoughtful and we truly appreciated his hospitable touch on providing freshly cut apples and pomegranate after every dinner. As it was just two of us in the group,Himal was very patient in letting us walk at our own pace and taking breaks when necessary as well as offering to carry our backpacks on short day hikes to reduce fatigue. Himal also demonstrated good knowledge in educating us of the surrounding mountains throughout the EBC trek and also the local sherpa culture or the Nepalese culture in general. A notable incident whereby Himal was very helpful was helping to tape up a friend's hiking boots which was coming apart with duct tape to ensure it lasted till the end of the trip. All in all, we would definitely strongly recommend Accessible Adventure and Himal as the guide for any friends who are interested in doing the EBC trek in the future.
