When I visited this area, I was approached by many beggars. We also saw dead bodies in from of the temples. It took over two hours for an ambulance to come and remove them.

It’s a central place for tourist to visit re sightseeing & shopping.... lots of restaurants, cafes & boutique hotels are in & around this area... streets are narrow & traffic horrendous.

Fine buildings destroyed by the earthquake. Most of it still in ruins but been rebuilt. Exquisite craftsmanship in wood & bricks. The central piece is the Kumari Mahal. A must-visit in Nepal.

I love Durbar Square. Nice place to hang out, as there is no traffic within the square itself. Grab a coffee and enjoy looking at the Bodinath Stupa.
