I visited Nepal many years ago and wanted to trek the Annapurna Circuit, which was a 3 week trek, back in those days. Now I believe you can cut the trek down to suit your time and budget, plus cut alot of the more moon like landscape after the high pass. My guide for the whole 3 weeks was Tilak Shestha, who is now a true vetern of trekking in Nepal and a true gentleman.
The trek for me was pretty tough and will still be something I`m very proud of completing, but it wasn`t without days I had to push myself to the limits. I wasn`t a trekker and my fitness was very poor, which I do advise folks to make sure they are cut out for this sort of trekking. I was very naive to what I was undertaking, as it`s gets pretty tough the higher you go and altittude is a big problem.
Tilak was a great guy who got me through some of the bad days and kept me on track, I think I would have got lost on the trek if I`d have done it solo. So I highly recommend him and his trekking company, especially if your like me and a bit green to Nepol and trekking in the Himalayas. Tilak will look after you and your party, he will make sure you have a trip of a lifetime, I have fond memories of my time in Nepal and I`m sure you will to. Brian

I Have just returned from Everest Base camp Trek with Glacier Adventure Company owned by Mr Tilak, it was
memorable and unforgettable experience I had. My Tilak himself came as a guide for me because I was going
alone. I was very happy the whole trek, thanks to Tilak and team and wish them to continue the same service.

i did a tour with Tilak several years ago and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Nepal is absolutely beautiful. My trip was well organized and I was taken care of very well. I would highly recommend his tour company to anyone looking to trek in Nepal!

An amazing adventure for 3 ladies in an incredible country with a really great guide in Tilak. His general knowledge is really good of all of Nepal, he has a great sense of humour (he needed it!) and the patience of Job. He and his company are highly recommended.

I never thought this would be an experience i would actually go out and do - i wasn't so sure about travelling and trekking in Nepal as it was a country i didn't know much about. But I'm so glad i did and i definitely don't regret it for a single minute.
Tilak and his team from day 1 were extremely flexible and worked around what we wanted to do. They understand that every group of hikers are different and accommodates accordingly to that. Everything was planned and organised so well and the accommodation that we stayed at far surpassed my expectations.
Glacier Adventure made me feel safe and welcomed from the very first moment, arriving at Kathmandu airport. It was such a surreal experience and i learnt so much about the culture and history of the towns and mountains thanks to Tilak's vast knowledge and experience. Tilak and his team made this trip not only a life changing, eye-opening experience but also made it fun and memorable with their fun and kindhearted nature.
Words will never be enough to explain what i experienced in Nepal or what incredible things i saw. This is a trip you must do at least once in your life.
Thank you Tilak and our porters for making this such a memorable and amazing experience. Although you started off as only my tour guides and porters, by the end of it i saw you all as my family and friends. They made my first visit to Nepal warm and welcoming and i would recommend them to everyone!! I absolutely can not wait to come back.

I recently returned from Nepal absolutely buzzing! I have just had a trip of a lifetime. I have travelled many places in my life but this trip was definitely (along with my African trip) the best! I completed the Annapurna Base Camp trek with Tilak and his team, which took 11 days at a fairly easy-going pace.
What an incredible hike, different scenery everyday! From little mountain villages with Nepalese and Tibetan goods been sold to rhododendron forests in full pink and red bloom, to stunning snow covered mountains. The weather was sensational (apart from one day of rain and one crazy hail storm) hot during the days and cooler at night (April).
Tilak's team were incredibly organised. We paid up front and could not fault what we recieved along the way. Here was I thinking I'd be eating dal for the length of my trip!... Well I was wrong! - The tea houses produced all sorts of different cuisine. The menu was full of delicious options - no one went hungry! The accommodation was always clean, comfortable and hospitable. Transport was always on time and efficient.
Tilak's knowledge of the area and different sections of the track was faultless. Even his timing of how long to the next stop were within just a couple of minutes of his estimate!
He has a great sense of humour - as did our strong porters - who carried our gear along the way. Although his business is new his experience in the industry is vast.
If you're looking for a friendly, trustworthy, knowledgeable and organised company to help make your trip a once in a lifetime - then get in touch with Glacier Adventure Company - based in Kathmandu. You wont regret it.

This was the trip of a lifetime!
After climbing Kilimanjaro, my mum excitedly told me that 'we' are going to trek the Himalayas. Destination: Everest Base camp!! Three ladies setting out for an adventure we would never forget, my mum, our friend Elaine and me. Arriving in Kathmandu, we were greeted by Tilak's (Owner at Glacier Adventure Company) smiling face and warm hospitality. We were scheduled to leave within the next two days for Lukla to start our trek, but Mother nature was tricky. Clouds covered over the mountains ~ perhaps a time of sacred meditation ~ for 5 days. What were we to do? Three South african gals, in Kathmandu, do what we do best... explore and shop! During this time, crowds of trekkers were arriving in Kat, with nowhere to go. Tilak was doing his absolute best to get us aboard a flight and making sure we were happy. Finally, on day 5, we had tickets and made our way to Lukla. Let the trip begin!! :) Tilak was a wonderful guide with a deliciously wicked sense of humour. He had the most amazing knowledge of the mountains ~ and certainly with over 15 years experience, he could do it backwards with his eyes closed. Tilak also got to know where every bathroom break is, be it sheltered or not. My mum and I enjoy taking our time and walking slow. Elaine and Tilak kept a good fast pace, but when they realised we were not quick to follow, they waited patiently. I am grateful for having Tilak as a guide on the mountain and as a friend. He kept telling me that he was going to start his own trekking company ~ and here it is! I'm so proud to know such a man with great integrity, kindness and patience and the best laugh I have heard in years! On future trips to Nepal, and I will return, I look forward to walking beside Tilak, carrying the name GLACIER ADVENTURE COMPANY.

My girlfriend and I did the Annapurna circuit trek with Tilak, the owner of this company, as our guide about 2 years ago. At the time he was guiding for another company but since he has started his own business, Glacier Adventure Company Pvt. Ltd. I can't speak for the company but if it embodies the values of this wonderful person then I will advocate fot it tirelessly. The experience was absolutely amazing and I have no complaints. We were treated as close friends and given the chance to experience intimately the culture of a beautiful country and its people. The extent of Tilak's hospitality and kindness almost made me uncomfortable at times but as I quickly realized the genuiness behind it, it only made me want to be a better person myself. His personality and love for life are truly infectious. He even got a hold of us at our hotel two weeks after the trek and took us out for dinner in Kathmandu before our departure from Nepal. To this day we still keep in touch with him even after two years.
If you are going to Nepal and planning to do a trek of any kind please do it with this company, I'm sure you will not be disappointed. Thanks again Tilak!

Trekking through the Himalayas with Tilak and his crew is a fun, cultural, off-the-beaten-path experience that you cannot miss if you are going to visit Nepal. Wether you want to live luxuriously all the way up the trail or sleep in tents and experience the real feel of mountaineering, Tilak is the man to arrange a trekk for you.
