It is always a slightly anxious moment getting off a plane when you have organised a complex trip from thousands of miles away but from the moment we arrived in Kathmandu we were taken care of completely and everything promised happened. Jitendra kept in touch through the months of planning and continued to be helpful throughout our time in Nepal. We two lovely ladies went horse trekking with Sundar , our guide Rajan, the horse expert and Amar the mountain porter who worked harder than any of us.
We started the trek in Pokhara, riding through the middle of town in the early morning and climbing steadily through the week to Ghandruk and back down. We stayed at a different guest house each night, and each was inspected by Sundar before being approved. They varied in amenities, and often had shared toilet, rarely hot shower ( we all ripened together) and twin beds. Heating is also rare so the one thing missing in our very over weighted rucksacks(that Amar had to carry) was a hot water bottle. The horses were incredible and whilst I have no doubt of their abilities to carry us there were times when we really did feel more safe walking thousands of steps, either up or down, than riding. The scenery was incredible and all of our ‘gang’ were very knowledgable and we had a great time together. For me the ultimate accolade was by day four they felt comfortable to eat with us and by day six to share some of the loads out. We had all become familiar and friendships formed both with us and between them. It was lovely. A real experience that I would not hesitate to do again despite the some times sore knees and aching back. Thank you so much Jitendra, Sundar, Rajan and Amar you all made this a very special time.

Pony trekking
To start we are 59/60year English travellers and deciding to go trekking on ponies made the decision so much easier. Everything was done over the internet and whilst we worried about what we would get we only had too pay a tiny deposit and nothing more until we arrived and could see that Mission Eco Trek was more than an internet bank Account. Jitendra from Mission Eco Trek sorted out the fine details like guides, porters, ponies and pony man. We just arrived , had a night in Kathmandu then set off for Pokhara with our guide Sundar. There we met Rajan the horse boy ( not derogatory- a 21 year old with all the exuberance, passion and energy of a 16 year old) Amar the very tiny very strong porter who got to carry our excess luggage. How we wished we'd left so much more behind. Amar (21 years old but very much more quiet and serious disposition to Rajan until the pair got together in the evenings or Amar discussed his passion for disco dancing ) often beat us up the slopes, taking the most direct but steepest route whilst we tacked up with the horses.
What a magical time we had. Sometimes riding , sometimes walking, always laughing. Being told off for not going up stairs on the ponies. The stairs were very nearly reaching to heaven and just about as steep. If arguments occurred for going up even more ensued for going down similar descents. We remain convinced that the horses were quiet capable but our nerves were not up to it. Every evening on arrival at the tea lodge or accommodation Rajan's first priority was the ponies ( ours too but our help was often greeted by onlookers with shouts of caution and hands pulling us back). Sundar was unfailing cheerful and eased our non existent Nepalese- advising us when we could drink the water and when not to. His attempts at procuring hot water bottles was much appreciated even when we thought we were been salted up for cooking!!!
All three could speak English , what one didn't know one of the others did. A few hilarious translations occurred , but with true Nepalese honesty we could all laugh at the results and appreciate each other's humour . As the week progressed, so did our friendship; by the time we reached our last night at the Astan eco lodge it was take all 7 of us or none at all. The horses got a bed under the haystack ( even tho they had disgraced us by getting into the veg garden) we all eat with the other guests .
Thank you Sundar, Rajan Amar and Jitendra for making our holiday so very enjoyable and memorable .

Located in the centre of Thamel, this agency offers all sorts of plans around Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan. The first day, I booked a city tour with Jitendra – the owner – and loved it, so I decided I would also choose them for my one-week trekking trip. He planned it all for me and recommended me to do a trip to Annapurna (from Pokhara to Poonhill and back) with Milan – one of the tour guides – as my good companion. Everything went out well, as I expected, and I enjoyed it very much.
Best thing about Jitendra was that not only was he very professional and an expert in his field, but also he was very friendly and always eager to help. ‘No problem’ was the sentence he said the most to any of my requests or needs. :)

I booked the 4 day Jungle Safari to Chitwan National Park and everything was absolutely perfect. This was my 2nd time booking online with Jitendra at Mission Eco Trek and he organises everything perfectly and communicates details well, answering all my questions and putting together the package I wanted. I'll definitely be back! When I popped into the office in Kathmandu, Jitendra and his colleague were very friendly and welcoming. Hotel Parkland in Chitwan was lovely and the local guides were well-informed and spoke excellent English. I saw plenty of wildlife too! The rhinos were the real highlight. Don't miss the jeep safari.

Nepal is a place where we could learn about the local Hindu and Buddhist Culture. There are a lot of beautiful old Hindu as well as Buddha temples still in a very good condition. On top of Kathmandu is Himalayan mountain range with Everest on its top visible from Chandragiri Hills and the best view from our Mountain flight over Himalayan range where we saw several peaks from Langtang, Anapura, Dhaulagiri to Sagarmantha or Everest... they are amazing. As we all know, 8 our of 10 highest mountains in the world are located in Nepal.
During our tour we were accompanied by Jitendra from Mission Eco Trek company, which to to start with they have provided us with a very good itinerary for our first journey to Nepal, which is the 90th country we have visited so far. He is very knowledgeable about the places which we visited i.e. Kathmandu, Pokhara and Lumbini, in terms of history, building, Hindu and Buddha culture including the deities as well as philosophy...
Jitendra has a very good attitude too, he is very energetic, always trying to cater to our needs, answering all the questions... in short he is always there for us. We are very happy and satisfied with him. We would highly recommend Mission Eco Trek to anyone for travel to Nepal.

We walked in to the office at closing time to find a person to do a Kathmandu tour by private car. Jitendra welcomed us in and found us the driver for an extremely good price. He took us to the money changing place recommended us a nice restaurant etc. He was very helpful and friendly.
The driver he arranged (Krishna) was very punctual and accommodating. We also used Krishna for Bhaktapur trip and airport drop at a very reasonable price.

I knew Jitendra for more than 11 years, as this was our third time doing Himalayan trekking with Jitendra's Mission Eco Trek, and have never disappointed with him. Our trekking guide, Sundar Gurung was an excellent professional guide, leading us to a 6-day of full-experience trek to Ghorepani and Poonhill with most care he could be at service. The sherpas were also very kind and professional. Thanks guys for the excellent and professional service.

I took an 8 day Langtang horse riding trek with this company in end November with an entourage of 4; the guide, a porter, a horseman and a horse.

Overall, the Langtang trek is indeed very scenic and the weather there was really nice with loads of teahouses along the way. The guide also knew his route well and ensure that I was well fed throughout the trip. Do note that fresh meat is not available up in the mountains and you either bring your own meat jerkies/have can food or stay vegetarian throughout. The accommodation was pretty decent. I usually have a private room with a bathroom attached (note there are no heaters in the room, so bring heat pads to survive up there). The only exception was Lama hotel, which was in an older condition.

The downside was that the horseman and his horse was not familiar with the route at all (I was told that this was the horse first trek in Langtang). There were many uncomfortable pauses along the way, where the horse was hesitant to continue up/down the road and the horseman had to take stronger actions with his horse. Also, I couldn't ride the horse properly as the horse wasn't properly equipped for that and most of the time, the horseman was the one who lead the way. In addition, Langtang isn't very suitable for a horse-riding trek as there are many ups and thus downs along the way. Even if I could avoid an actual climb up, going down with a horse wasn't very safe and I had to climb down most of the time.

My 2nd last day where we had to head down from Kyanjin Gompa was also very rushed. Even though we left early in the morning, most of the time, I had to gallop down the slopes with little breaks in between to ensure we reach Lama hotel before sunset. Due to the rush, there was several times I almost fell off and I also felt really bad for the horse for the lack of breaks.

On hindsight, Langtang should be at least a 9-10 day trek and is definitely more suitable for just normal on foot trekking. If you decided to do horse-riding like me to avoid the climb up, take a few more days so that the trip is not rushed and there are properly breaks in between.

Mr Jitendra Gurung’s company had organised a private car for us to travel from Kathmandu to Pokhra on a short notice. Mr Gurung himself arrived at the pick up location with the car and the driver dot on time. It was a clean Maruti swift and the driver was well behaved and very skilful. It required loads of patience to drive from Kathmandu to Pokhra on what at the moment is a fully dug up road (read ongoing-road widening project).
Thank you Mr Gurung for your excellent service 👍😊
Thank you Santoshji for your safe driving 👍👍
We look forward to being in Nepal again and going trekking with your company 🙏
