A very clean studio with a fresh, modern vibe. My husband and I both really loved the 1.5 hour class and would love to return next time we’re in Kathmandu.

I bought a weeks unlimited pass for 2500 R and just renewed it today. Like everyone else has said, nice clean studio, bright an airy.. it can get full quickly, so go early!
I have loved all the teachers, definitely no complaints and i have soft spots for Bhuwan and Ramesh.. but all the teachers are great. I see the negative comments re Chrissie, iv done her classes. and I had a smile to myself last week listening to how she spoke to some students, but i have no issue with it, shes certainly not offensive or unprofessional! Chill, youre there to do yoga! Youll be ok with her!
I would personally more of a choice than predominantly hatha flow, but i can deal with what is. Oh, and Elianes yin yoga is great too!

The studio is absolutely lovely but the teacher threw me off a little. While the space is clean, bright, full of all the equipment you need and accommodating to a full room. The teacher was bossy and loud and unfriendly. She was sarcastic, made snippy remarks, and would get audibly upset if you were even 0.0003 seconds ahead of anyone else. Yoga is not about doing everything at the same time as everyone else, yes it is about a guided practise but if you move a moment before you are told, you shouldn't be chastised and yelled at, that's my opinion, ESPECIALLY when it comes to yoga. Always find it very ironic when a yoga teacher is so uptight, haha. Another weird thing is a woman arrived a few minutes late, and didn't speak great English, and the woman basically told her "this isn't the place for you" after the woman said she wants to practise some yoga..... really was absurd for her to just tell her to go away like that. Made no sense to me but definitely aliens with her rigid personality otherwise. Anyhow, it was a good class that left me feeling stretched and well but it was definitely a beginner class that did not challenge me too much and positions were held for quite a long time while the teacher would repeat herself 5-10 times

The studio itself is beautiful. Clean. Simple. Wooden panels and equipped with everything you might need for your practise. The teacher is a little pushy and sometimes continues to repeat herself and is very bossy. In America, yoga is to each their own, and if you are aware of the next position then you may move into at your own pace. The teacher was very pushy and would almost get angry if you even just moved 2 seconds ahead. It was a little ridiculous and as a yoga teacher she should be more understanding that everyone is at a different level and by being bossy and snappy she is almost ruining the feeling of the practise. It was a great class and I did feel the stretches and the flow was efficient and I WOULD return but my opinion of the teacher would not change. I do like being adjusted and told how to fix my posture, which the teacher did and that was invited and accepted. What was not invited was her nearly shouting "YOU NEED TO LISTEN. LISTEN CAREFULLY. NOPE. DO NOT DO THAT. WAIT UNTIL I SAY SO. LISTEN" ....just very unnecessary to portray such controlling demands in a yoga class, there is much nicer ways to say all of the things she said and she can speak in a much quieter tone. At the end of the day, nobody was going more than 1 stretch ahead of anyone, and yoga is different for everyone, so no matter what, the teacher should be much less bossy. Of course it is a class and we should all follow the class but if someone is 1 or 2 seconds ahead of another class member then so be it! Yoga is about peace, inner strength, growth, breathing, patience, not about being completely synchronized with the bossy lady in the room.

I droped in a few Yoga classes last year. Dynamic Hatha and Universal Yoga by/with Nata - she is great! It's a clean und friendly studio. Only the traffic jam you can hear from outside is sometimes a bit noisy and disturbing. But that's why we practice Yoga, to center ourselves and to be able to ignore voices from the outside :-p

I recently spent three days on a yoga retreat with Pranamaya Yoga. I can honestly say that it was the most wonderful 3 days you could wish for. Set in the beautiful Neydo Tashi Choling Monastery, outside of the city, it offered the perfect escape. The teaching was inspiring and we learned so much about the practice of yoga. Great people and delicious food at the hotel - I would 100% recommend this to anyone. Thank you !

I've attended their dynamic hatha, hatha, elemental, singing bowl, ashtanga, and vinyasa flow classes and they have all been top-notch. Daniel, rupiah, Annie, and Emily all brought impressive expertise and deliver the calming, steadying and slightly challenging qualities I admire in a yoga instructor. As a teacher myself, I feel I've gained something from each of their classes. Highly recommend this studio, especially if you're looking to hit the reset button at any point during your stay (or need a good restorative session after an intense trek or day exploring the city).

i really enjoyed practicing at the studio in Thamel. I was there for the month so bought that unlimited package, which is really reasonable. The "per class" price is quite high though so something to take into consideration, as taking one class a day for a week or two classes a day for a month are basically the same price.
but the teachers are really mindful and lovely. its a huge turnoff to me when yoga instructors act like personal trainers and are more concerned with calorie burning and such than a thoughtful practice. EVERY teacher i had at Pranamaya which was 6 or 7 were incredibly mindful in their instructions and CONSTANTLY called attention to the need to not over extend or exert yourself.
I became close with some of the instructors there and are even reconnecting with one when both in india. A really good community, I highly recommend.

I am visiting Kathmandu mid February for a month and I want to reboot mind body and soul. . I used to do Pilates (mat) and loved how it made me feel but can only find stuff about yoga - which I am scared of as my balance is terrible and I prefer to be on the floor!
Let me know if you think of a Pilates based programme for me

Unfortunately the studio does not have Pilatus. Don't be scared though, anybody can do yoga. It's not about being good at it :)
