My wife and I spent two weeks in Nepal with Jagadamba Holidays. At the start and end of the holiday we had two days’ sightseeing around Kathmandu (Bouddhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath Temple, Bhaktapur, Changu Narayan Temple) with a guide and driver, as well as plenty more time to explore by ourselves, whilst staying at a wonderful old, but well equipped, guest house with a great garden and restaurant right in the centre of the city. We took a flight to Pokhara and found ourselves heading up a hill side by the afternoon, with a guide and porter, at the start of six days of comfortable trekking. We walked into the hills, up and down, but slowly gaining height. We were never rushed, there were always places to stop for a break, including tea houses when required, either in a village, or in the forest; and always a great place to stop for lunch with a view. By mid-afternoon we were usually at our destination, tea house, lodge or hotel. These were quite varied as you would expect, some very old and simple, some more modern. All had comfortable beds, good menu and wifi. Where something was not as we wanted the guide was able to resolve the problem, for example there was no hot water in our bathroom at one lodge, but the proprietor offered a hot shower at the end of the block. As the trek progressed we got increasingly good views of mountains including, Machapuchare, Annapurna South and Nilgiri culminating, on the last but one day, with an early morning walk up Poon Hill joining the throng to see the sunrise over a vast array of mountains.
Next were two nights and a free day in Pokhara. There was plenty to do; lots of relaxing cafes and restaurants; we took a boat trip on the lake. The hotel was fantastic, a good choice of breakfast and a swimming pool.
Then on to Chitwan National Park for 2 nights. The highlights were visiting an elephant breeding centre, a lovely, quite, boat ride down a river (whilst keeping our hands safely inside the boat so as not to encourage the crocodiles), and a 4hr vehicle safari in the forest. We saw more crocodiles, birds, lizards and best of all, rhinos. The guide for the safari was very experienced, taking things slowly and allowing the animals to shows themselves. This wasn’t the first Rhino sighting of the day, however, as we had already seen one one taking a nap in a football field, much to the amusement of a bus load of school kids.
All in all a perfect introduction to Nepal.

We visited Nepal in Feb’23 and connected with Mr. Narendra on the recommendation of one of my friends. It turned out to be the best decision of the whole trip. Right from picking up us at the airport until dropping us back at the airport, we didn't have a single complaint. We started the trip with a complimentary breakfast where he introduced our guide and explained the whole itinerary. A brief explanation of each place to be visited, their significance, road and weather conditions, nothing was missed. Adding special dinner and cake to celebrate my wife’s birthday shows how considerate and thoughtful Narendra is to make the visit unforgettable. The hotel choices - Fish Tail Lodge at Pokhara and mystic Mountain at Nagarkot were excellent. Of course Shangri La at Kagbeni was a surprise 😜. My wife and I are married for 23 years and this was our first trip alone without our sons as they’ve left for work / studies. And we left Nepal wanting to go back again in a couple of years. As our return flight was delayed, we were to spend over 10 hours at the airport and he got us a hotel room at the same rate as we had booked 2 months before and came to drop us at the airport at 1 am in the morning. We start forgetting some of the detail of the places we visited, but Narendra will be the first one we think and talk of when we recall our trip. We trusted his recommendations and he delivered 100%. We’ll go back to Nepal sometime again and and we’ll get Narendra’s help without any hesitation. Thanks Narendra 🙏.

Jagadamba was the local partner for an eight day trek with Monastics from Plum Village, France through Lang Tang Valley. From the moment of pick-up at the airport it was clear we (a group of 29!) were in professional, kind, fast and trustworthy hands. Narendra, the owner, organised our transport for sightseeing and our first (helicopter) stop for the trek. But most importantly: Jagadamba provided a team of eight guides (among who the amazing Tek, Narayan, Janak, and Shambu) and fifteen porters that were the most friendly, fun, well informed, flexible and careful group one could wish. They made our mindful trek a worry free experience full of laughter, even when at 5000 meter a helicopter díd need to come for two group members with altitude sickness. Absolutely recommended!

Jagadamba Holidays works highly professionally, with qualified staff and attaches great importance to making travellers perfectly happy.
We booked our first trek to Makalu Base Camp for October/November 2023 from Germany. The communication in advance was wonderful, Narendra answered all questions quickly and clearly, planned everything perfectly and catered to special requests. The costs were transparent right from the start and payment was straightforward.
Narendra and our two guides Kiran and Tek gave us a warm welcome when we arrived in Kathmandu. Before and after the trek, they offered us an interesting programme, showed us historical places and explained local customs so that we could get to know Nepalese culture in an authentic way. They also introduced us to many Nepalese customs during the trek.
The trek itself (21 days) was an unforgettable experience. The landscape is breathtaking and our guides Kiran and Tek showed us the most beautiful places. They were both great! They are very experienced and perfectly organised. They provided us with a comfortable hike with well-considered stage distances, which they also adapted flexibly to acute circumstances – always in consultation with us participants. The porters carried most of our individual luggage as well as our food and other equipment – that was a huge relief! Together with our guides, they made sure that we were as comfortable as possible in the rather basic teahouses, that we received varied and nutritious meals and that we never wanted for anything.
The team looked after us very courteously and were always attentive to the needs of each individual (we were a group of 10 trekkers plus 8 porters).
Kiran, Tek and the porters were politely unobtrusive and at the same time gave us a strong family feeling, so that we quickly took them all to our hearts.
We still had some time left after our group hike and Kiran gave us expert advice on other hiking and travelling destinations in Nepal. The two of us spontaneously undertook the Tamang Heritage Trail with him, went to the Langtang Valley and returned to Kathmandu via the Gosainkund-Helambu Trek (19 days, November/December 2023). This trek was also extremely uncomplicated and Kiran was very flexible to our wishes. We saw beautiful places and were often overwhelmed by the fantastic views.
After the hikes with Jagadamba Holidays, we travelled through the country on our own and Kiran provided us with lots of valuable tips.
From the first to the last minute in Nepal – even outside of the booked treks – the wonderful team from Jagadamba Holidays was there for us and it was very reassuring to always have a contact person for any eventuality.
We can’t thank them enough for everything. But one thing is for sure: we are probably one of the 80% of people who come back after their first visit to Nepal. And if we do, we will do it with Jagadamba Holidays.

Jagadamba organized the trekking tour to Makalu Base Camp for us - a group of 10 friends: this is a rarely used trail of almost three weeks in the east of Nepal, mostly without electricity or internet and with only a few small teahouses for sleeping. It is therefore difficult to run it smoothly. But Jagambada-Tours did an excellent job. We always got good places to sleep, even though there were more people on the trail than there were places. Our two guides Kiran and Tek and our seven porters supervised this trek, which was strenuous due to the cold in the second half, excellently. All transfers worked out well. Unfortunately, two participants had to abandon the trek early due to a bad cold and were flown out by helicopter: our guides organized this immediately and perfectly. With Jagadamba-Tours we were accompanied competently and felt very safe, so that we could relax and enjoy the beauty of the hiking region.

We got the recommodation from friends for Jagadambaholidays and now we highly recommend this agency !!! The manager Mr. Narendra Bohara was organizing everything absolutely perfect !! Our guide Gokharna was taking care of us like a daddy especially when both of us were sick, this made us feel very much secure. Our porter Kamal took lots of our stuff and even with this weight he was running all the mountains up like he would be on a short sundaywalk. He knows so much about nature, plants and animals, that he could even show us a wolf on a hill nearby. They talk talk English very well so we got great explanations from them on our trekkingtour about Nepal, its history, the situation at the moment
and about wishes and problems from Nepalese people nowadays.
If you like to have a wonderful tour which you do not forget, try Jagadamba holidays ! I am sure you will like it so much !!!

I am just back from our tour to Pokhara, Poon Hill, ABC and Chitwan, full of fantastic impressions.
Our wonderful guide Sushil Kumar Kshatri (english & german) is a great organiser. The trek distances he set up were better feasible than I ever thought. Even in the fullest guest houses he made sure that we got good beds and we never had to wait for our meals. The whole trip went smooth and very enjoyable.
Bachchu Thapa was our porter. He speaks and even better understands the basics of English you need for trekking. In addition to carrying our bags he served as the second hand of our guide staying behind with the slowest, helping with serving the meals and making sure that we were well. A very attentive person, always in a good mood and smiling.
We had a great time with the two of them. Not least in the evenings playing cards and laughing a lot 🤗.

Since we arrived to Nepal, Jagadamba team were there for us all the time. Narendra and his team are very professional and they will make sure we have all we need. In Kathmandu we had a great introduction to Nepal and sorted all the supplies needed. During ABC trek we had the best guide, giving all the support, bridging between the group and lodge teams, and giving all the explanations about the region. Very professionals and knowledgeable. We were very well treated by Jagadamba and all partners. Thank you so much for the amazing experience.
