My name is Susanna (from Hong Kong), my friends and I went to Nepal September 2018. Six of us had a super wonderful time, Raju did a great job organize the whole trip, looking after everyone, including everyone's fussy requirements. I would highly recommend for anyone who wants to see & know about Nepal in details, Raju is absolutely knowledgeable about Nepal explain clearly in English!! If I go again, I will ask Raju to be my tour guide again 110% no doubt. Even it's almost three years ago, we are still keeping in touch.

Very impressive trip planning and arrangement of Raju Gurung for my trips in Nepal. Everything is well organized, nicely managed schedule and transportation, awesome sceneries and wonderful experiences each time visited.

Raju is very experienced and communicates well in English. One very good thing about Raju is that he has both city tour and hiking licenses, so could cater for the needs of not just hiking, no need for clients to change different guides in one trip. For those you are planning your trips to Nepal post-COVID, I highly recommend Raju Gurung of Thin Air Adventure.

We had an amazing trekking trip to Poon Hill + ABC thanks to Thin Air Adventure. They were recommended by my friend who used Thin Air Adventure few years ago. While I did contact a few other tour guides, I found that Thin Air Adventure was very responsive and detailed (thanks to SOM who has run this business for many years) and the prices are comparably reasonable. The whole trip was well organised and we didn’t need to worry about anything from the time we were picked up at the airport.

Our guide Dhan is very professional, caring and especially patient. He adjusted our itinerary a bit by observing the weather, our teams’ ability and preferences and overall conditions so we enjoyed the most of it. He made sure we ate well, we can choose different meals from the menu and sometimes provided extras (and it’s all INCLUDED). We love our porters as well since they had big smiles all the time and were very caring. We had boiled water ready all the time and they even cooked a fresh chicken for us one day after 8 hrs hike. We feel like a family during this trip. I really appreciated that.

ABC is definitely a beautiful trek. Highly recommended. I look forward to go to EBC with Thin Air Adventure again.

Raju with Thin Air adventures is the best guide you can ask for when trekking in Nepal. The outstanding level of support we received started several months before the trip during the planning phase. And from our arrival to the airport to stay in Kathmandu to 2 weeks of trekking in Annapurna, Raju was on top of things every moment. He made our trip one of the best memories of my life. I felt like we were well looked after and always had something fun to do. When my dad got a head cold during the trekk, Raju looked after him like a loving mother. Also Raju planned ahead and got us the best accomodations possible at every stop. Raju energy is amazing, he is knowledgeable, flexible and fully supportive. It's clear to see he loves what he does. We are already planning to come back next year to do another trekk with Raju.

My friends and I had a very wonderful time to EBC + Gokyo during 2012-10-6~10-23.
The package itinerary was given by Som Gurung from "Thin Air Adventure".
With he and his dedicated professional guides team work, providing support to local community,
we enjoyed an unforgettable and relaxed trekking.
Went through from Lukla, Namche bazaar, EBC, and all the way to Kalapatthar, Chola Pass then to Gokyo. Som provided us customized schedule; therefore, we stayed 2 nights at the fabulous Gokyo area, a hidden valley with gorgeous lakes. Combined with our photographic requirements, we also enjoyed 360 degree panoramic view of some 8000M mountains, of course, Everest, from Gokyo Ri which more spectacular than the view from Kalapatthar.
Next time, we will be back and join ABC trekking.
I highly recommend Som's service while you are planning to visit Nepal.

I contacted several travel agency since September 2012 as we prepare to have a trekking in October. I appreciate that Som, who is the responsible person of Thin Air Adventure have promptly reply among those of agency which I make an enquiry. I keep contact of him and he answer me patiently and detailed even I haven't join the trekking in October due to my busy working.
After six month, I enquiry of different agency again and I decided to join Thin Air Adventure finally for reasonable price and good answering compare with some other travel agency.

Summarise those the services they provide to us, we think very good of it and satisfactory of their arrangement. The guide is very take care of us and he even cook for us sometimes and bear our excess luggage during trekking.

I am very happy of joining Som's team and I must join them again if I have chance to have an other trekking in Nepal in future.

Really thanks a lot to Som's team~

My girlfriend and I went on a trek with "Thin Air Adventure Pvt. Ltd"
/ "Asian Travellers Treks & Expedition" in March 2011.

We booked the tour from Denmark, and right from the start Som, the
owner, was very helpful answering our mails and helping us with a lot
of stuff.

When we got to Kathmandu, he came and picked us up at the airport and
gave us a traditional flower necklace each, which made us feel very
welcome right from the start. We still needed to buy som equipment and
clothes and Som was very helpful with explaining to us what we needed
and taking us to the shops.

We had chosen the "Everest Panorama View Trek" tour which is a short
semi-easy tour, but still with a view of Everest. On the tour it was
just my girlfriend and I + the guide and a guy/sherpa who carried our
bags. Our guide was very good, really friendly and helpful with a
great knowledge of everything, and spoke very good English.

The tour was just fantastic, it was so nice walking up the in the
mountain area, enjoying the great view and landscape and meeting all
the amazing friendly local people. And during the nights we stayed
mostly at some small guesthouses which was really perfect.

We will definitely recommend this tour operator to everyone. We were
completely happy with everything, and everything was as described in
the itinerary.

If / when we come back, we will go with them again.

Definitely 5 stars from us :)

My wife and I went to Upper Mustang, Nepal, in July 2013 and booked the trekking trip via the agency “Thin Air Adventure Pvt. Ltd.”.

We found the company by chance in the Internet. As a picky traveller I spent quite a lot of time checking out different trekking agencies for trekking in the Himalayas. After narrowing down the field using Tripadvisor and their websites, I contacted 3-4 trekking agencies to experience their service level. From the beginning we had a good feeling in the communication with the manager of the company “Thin Air”, Som Gurung. He was very reliable and attentive. Also due to other positive previous recommendations we chose “Thin Air” and we are still very happy we did!

Som organized the whole trip very well and was so supportive for each and every question we had. He managed a flexible schedule even though the paperwork would play against it. Som was so professional coming to business topics, but at the same time kept the Nepalese friendliness and modesty. And we found him to be very honest and trustworthy: everything which was promised was kept. There was a clear and straightforward discussion about the itinerary before we left which was a great thing to do by Som. We appreciated the preparation a lot. You could sense his many yeas of experience. He was so service-orientated, correct and always in time – we found him to be very German, actually! 

It is a family run business: during our trekking the nephew of Som, Dil Gurung, was our guide and the younger brother of Som, Shiva Gurung, was our Sherpa. Both were also very reliable, supportive and friendly. They took care of everything around the trip. Dil is a very experienced guide with excellent English language skills and very good knowledge about Mustang and Buddhism culture. And moreover he has a very open mentality. It was very easy to get along with those two guys and a lot of fun! Great job!

We enjoyed our trip so much and would like to thank the staff of Thin Air for this great trip which ensured an unforgettable experience.

We give our highest recommendations for this agency. We would never book it somewhere else if we return to Nepal. We think the price-value-rate was excellent.
We wish Som and his team all the best!

Looking for a reliable, TAAN-licensed trekking company in Kathmandu? Look no further! Whether you are on a tight two-week schedule in and out of Nepal, as we were, or lucky enough to have weeks to spend exploring the Himalayas, Thin Air Adventures Pvt. Ltd. (formerly Asian Travellers Treks Pvt. Ltd.) probably has something to match your aspirations, abilities and budget. Two treks in the Annapurna and Everest regions left us with memories that will last a very long time indeed. And with a craving to go back for more, soon! All credits to a fantastic team: Som Gurung who patiently answered all the questions we bombarded him with before booking, our guide OB Gurung who proved to be a truly wonderful and reliable travel companion, with whom we shared many a good laugh on the trail and in local bhatis, and rock-solid porters always happy to help, Shiva and Prakash. We’d happily recommend their services to anybody contemplating a trek in the region.
