Certainly a unique experience. A frantic, evening ride through busy narrow streets, perched precariously on a Heath-Robinson contraption consisting of a seat high up at the rear of a rickety old bicycle. Squeezing through the narrowest of gaps between 1000's of pedestrians, 100's of other bikes, mopeds and motorcycles and the occasional car. Sounds, mostly the "beep-beep" of the bicycle horn clearing the way. Lights and vivid colours flashing by. Souvenir shops next to hardware stores interspersed with signs of earthquake damage. Stopping at stupors, temples and Kathmandu Durbar square with excellent information provided by an English speaking guide. I thoroughly enjoyed this tour taken on Christmas Eve. I'm sure you can find anything for sale in Thamel. I found it really amusing that, along with the seasonal Santa hats, illuminated Halloween horns and Easter Bunny hats with flapping ears were on sale.

We met up with our guide Binisha on our first morning in Kathmandu! She couldn’t of made us feel more welcome in a foreign city. She showed us our first glimpses of stupas and Hindu temples whilst telling us stories of the Newari Culture. We finished our morning with a lunch at a local home with the most beautiful family! An amazing start to our trip and so lovely to get out of the hustle and bustle of Thamel.

I highly recommend Urban Adventures and this tour. Our guide Binisha Shakya was truly wonderful. She always had a smile and no question was too much trouble. She was extremely knowledgeable and shared with our very small group her enthusiasm and passion for Nepal. Binisha really made the tour, looking after us. We saw parts of life in Nepal, Patan and Bhaktapur which we would not have seen if we had gone on our own. I can only hope that when I return to Nepal Binisha will be our guide again!

If you go to Nepal and Kathmandu, this is a tour you must do.

Sanjeeb was my guide on this great tour he adapted for my available time and requests. He generously shared information and answered my questions giving me an insight into life in Nepal. Sanjeeb took my down back streets as well as drew my attention to various points I would have completely missed on my own. I would highly recommend the Kathmandu Urban Adventure and Sanjeeb Khadka as a guide.

Fantastic tour, I was the only person so it felt like I had a private tour of Kathmandu. The tour guide was knowledgeable and it was great walking around and learning about the history of each temples/sights. Highly recommend this tour.

I was picked up by Binisha and our driver and taken to Kirtipur in the hills surrounding Kathmandu city. We walked around the alleyways and visited the old Stupa and Temples along the way, learning about the Newari way of life and history of the area.

After the hilltop walk we made our way to a private home for lunch which was tasty and super interesting. It was great to chat with the family about daily life.

Binisha was a friendly guide and just starting her career, it was a pleasure to spend the day with her away from the madness of Thamel. A relaxed and authentic experience I highly recommend.

Hi traveler, Kirtipur definitely is a less-crowded part of Kathmandu, but culturally and historically rich all the same. We are very happy to know that you enjoyed touring around Kirtipur with our guide Binisha. Thank you for taking time to write this lovely review! Cheers, Kathmandu Urban Adventures Team

For starters, my guide was not only very informative but she was friendly and easy to talk to. This tour is great for those who are interested in learning Nepal's history and for any architecture buffs out there it is easy to fall in love with the structures you see. Lastly don't forget to try the local curd. Its very delicious!

We took this tour with Binisha and Urmula and had a great time! They made a really great team, driving us with a lot of tranquility amidst the chaos and showing us the different squares. Binisha was well informed and had a good sense of humor. She was also really good at taking pictures and even reminding us to take pictures at times. She took us for snacks in the middle of the tour. Overall, we had a great experience and would recommend them.

Attended the so called Spiritual tour in early November 2017. Very good guide, a young woman named Gyanu, and she spoke just about the best English I ever heard in Kathmandu. But why, according to the costs in Nepal, so expensive? Over 50 US dollars for about three hours? (when you can have a decent hotelroom for 5 dollars and a good 3-course dinner for 10) . The answer is obvious when googling. Urbanadventures is not nepalese. Furthermore you are expected to pay everyone involved, from the guides to the rickshawdrivers (took part in an evening rikhshaw tour as well) quite some tip. Why? Why are they not paid by the company? There is a company named Socialtours, an better option. Cheaper and you support the locals! Because of the price, I am not giving a top score.

Hi traveler, Thank you for taking time to write this review. We admit that our tours might seem slightly more expensive in comparison to other tour-providers, but we have to let you know that paying fair wages to everyone involved, paying all the taxes and ensuring the best quality products tend to cost a lot. We are glad to know that you enjoyed the tour despite your concerns about price though! And we will look into ways to make them more affordable for everyone in the future. Regarding the tips, it really depends on your level of satisfaction and the decision to tip them is entirely yours, no pressure at all. Thank you again for the feedback, Kathmandu Urban Adventures Team
