Furi Sherpa, our guide, led us on a five nights trek to Poon Hill. The experience was exactly as advertised – beautiful scenery, strenuous but manageable tracking for two in shape 50+ year olds, accommodations that were basic but clean and comfortable, and good food. Watching the sunrise over the Annapurna range from the top of Poon Hill was magical.
Furi was an excellent guide. He was fun, helpful, and knowledgeable. Also, he carried plenty of cookies. Somewhere on the Internet, there is now a TikTok of me and Furi dancing on top of Poon Hill. I regret nothing.
You should also be aware that Furi can handle himself if things begin to go not according to plan. On the last night of our trek, heavy unseasonable rains began. When we hiked out on the last day and met out jeep, the roads were deteriorating badly, with landslides and washouts. One landslide destroyed a bus in front of us, and our jeep could no longer pass. Furi got us on foot past the landslide, and over a brand new River that had washed out the road downhill. We then got into the new Jeep that he had arranged and we were driven safely off the mountain. Well done Furi!

Mountain Routes is a well-run and reliable company. It was clear MG was concerned about keeping our group healthy as we acclimatized. He brought fruit out each day, checked on our sleep levels, and is up for a good card game.
Our Sherpa Santhos was very humble and sweet. I'll miss his smiling face. He worked hard carrying our things and it is MUCH appreciated.
MG accommodated the two women in the group because sharing was tough with one snoring and the other being a light sleeper. This made a big difference in my mind as to the quality of the trek and our ability to have proper rest. It was also MUCH appreciated.
MG is highly knowledgeable about this region, always stopped to talk native plants, traditions, and was a pleasure. His laugh is infectious. He walked with everyone in the group (individually) over the course of the trek, so no one was left out. If you want a capable guide in this region, I highly recommend Mountain Routes. 🙏 Namaste MG and Santhos!! Safe travels to you both and to your families.

My three week trek through the Manaslu region and Tsum Valley was incredible, the whole experience was planned to perfection and our every need was catered for along the entire journey. I cannot thank Shristy, Furi and Kaji enough for their support and for making this trip as amazing as it was! Even with an injury and some problems with the weather, the team were able to adapt the itinerary and make sure we still had the best trip possible. Thank you!

Having already been on the 15 trek via Gokyo lakes to Everest basecamp a week before when I realized I could visit the Himalayas one more time to see the stunning scenery again by helicopter I was thrilled that Mountain Routes were able to take the stress out of all the arrangements and book the 4 hour round trip from Kathmandu to Everest Basecamp, landing to refuel briefly at Lukla, and stopping on the top of Kala Patthar at 5,500m from where we could look down to Basecamp and the Khumbu glacier and up to Everest. We even got to fly over base camp 2 before flying back to the Everest Hotel for breakfast and more views of Ama Dablam, Nuptse and of course Everest. The customer service from being collected from our hotel, looked after at the airport was excellent and was definitely worth getting up early to enjoy the stunning scenery and the re-trace my journey. I can highly recommend any trip booked by Mountain Routes, for taking the stress out of planning an excursion and getting the best deal available.

We had an amazing trek along the Annapurna Base Camp trail! We drove from Pokhara to Jinhu Danda in a jeep then began the 5 day trek. Our tour guide, Mukunda was perfect at setting a light pace to get us from town to town on time. Each day consisted of about 6 hours of walking with a 1 hour lunch. We started the morning off with a lovely American breakfast and ate tasty authentic Nepali food for lunch and dinner. The tea houses were well equipped for guests on the excursion but recommend bringing a sleeping bag. Mukunda was great at coordinating rooms and meals making our trip much more enjoyable than if we needed to coordinate all of the logistics. The moderate to difficult hike, with an astounding view, was well worth the effort! I give a 10/10 on the experience and Mountain Routes assistance in making my holiday possible!

Oh my goodness, thank you Mountain Routes for all of your help while I was in Nepal. I worked with them for multiple activities (paragliding and Australian Camp/Dhampus trek) and they made everything so easy! They were incredibly quick to respond and always had an answer to any question you had, they were very flexible with your schedule, and had great deals. The short weekend trek to Australian Camp, Dhampus, and Astam was immaculate - transportation was smooth, it had a great mix of activity and downtime in the small villages, and we had a kind and personable guide. I highly recommend reaching out to Mountain Routes for ALL of your Nepal travels and activities. Thanks again, Shristy and the Mountain Routes team!

I had the pleasure of completing the EBC trek, a fantastic journey that left me with so many colorful and inspiring memories, which was clearly the credit of Shristy and his wonderful team. It is therefore not difficult to recommend Mountain Routes – from the first contact, through detailed planning to the individual and sincere care on site, everything was professional and 100% customer-oriented. I enjoyed every moment of my stay and had a wonderful time with our guide Mukunda and our porter Santhos. They all bring so much heart, passion and willingness to make this trip unforgettable that they will quickly become part of your heart. I miss their positive energy and relaxed way of dealing with things!
Keep up your fantastic work!

Great trek of the manaslu circuit. Our guides MG and Furi took great care of our group. The trek is quite challenging but the mountain routes team were very encouraging and made sure we were all enjoying our time. Shristy was amazing at organising everything fir the trek as well as helping us with travel plans afterwards. Excellent porters led by Dipu ensured we always had everything we needed for a great trip. Happy to recommend mountain routes to anyone looking to explore Nepal.

Myself and one other embarked on the journey of a lifetime with MG, our guide, and Santhos, our superhuman porter, to EBC. An unforgettable time with plenty of laughs, steep ascents and sore feet! I would wholeheartedly recommend this company to anyone who wants to experience a more rural slice of life in Nepal, especially out of season. Even when things didn’t go exactly according to plan, our two new family members, as they felt like by the end, were always there to step in and save the day. Knowledgable, kind, friendly and great new connections to have in the world.
Thank you so much!

I completed the Poon Hill Trek in March over 5 days, it’s a must! MG was the perfect guide, making the trip completely hassle free, his knowledge of the area was great and he was perfect company. The amazing mountain views, local lunches and comfortable guest houses made this trip so enjoyable! It is also an moderate walk, perfect for less experienced hikers. I couldn’t recommend MG or this trip more!

Do you run any Charity Treks? Next time I come to Nepal I would like to think I was supporting a project helping disadvantaged women or children in one of the mountain villages.
