Our group of four (including a female), had a superb trip with Crystal Mountain Trekking Agency. Prior to our departure, we were sent clear instructions about the trip, what to pack, and other tips to make our trek comfortable. Crystal Mountain guys also gave us very warm sleeping bags, liners, and down jackets, which we would otherwise have to purchase. The Kathmandu office kept in touch with us throughout our journey (KTM - EBC - KTM) to see if we were well and needed anything. The team in Solukhumbu were fantastic as well. Our guides and porters were extremely helpful in every way and always ready for a joke and laugh no matter how good or difficult the circumstances. They were so accommodating to our wishes that, listening to their advice and suggestions, we added a day trip to Amadablam Base Camp after EBC! The price Crystal Mountain charged us (before the trip) was about 5-10% higher than other agencies quoted. But we were not charged any additional amount during or after the trip, and considering the service throughout the trip and all the equipment they let us borrow during the trip (which we would have to buy otherwise), it was excellent value for money as well. We plan to continue trekking with Crystal Mountain Trekking Agency in the coming seasons and years, and would always recommend it to others.

The whole experience was so well planned. Touring the cities was enlightening and trekking in the mountains was one of the most transformational experiences of my life. I would definitely love to this all again soon.

We thought about trekking before we plan for holiday but my husband just recover from bad knees so we decided to go hiking to Tiger nest monastery in Bhutan and tour around Kathmandu and Pokhara. We were introduced to Jwalant from Crystal Mountain Treks by Yak Holidays in Bhutan. He planned the tour according to our needs and arranged everything for us, hotel, pick up at airport and sight -seeing. The hotel Shambala in Kathmandu and Temple tree resort in Pokhara were very convenient, close to town and very comfortable. We had a great time both in Kathmandu and Pokhara. Kathmandu is full of ancient treasures and architecture is amazingly delicate. We enjoyed the short hiking to Peace Pagoda in Pokhara very much. Thank you ever so much to Jwalant for all the arrangements , Ram for meeting us at airports, and our guides Binyana and Suraj for being very patient, knowledgeable and very punctual. Special thanks to the guide Suraj for inviting us for lunch at his home after the tour, so we had a chance to taste the authentic home cooking. We would love to return again for trekking in near future ( knee-permitting I should say).

Crystal Mountain Treks provided a superior experience in our trek to the lower Khumbu. From our acclimatization time in Kathmandu valley to our trek up to Pikey Peak summit, health, safety and comfort was foremost in the minds of the CMT staff. In the Kathmandu valley every day brought something different and special. CMT staff quickly adapted our schedule when last minute changes or special requests were made. The staff ensured that every participant on the trip had their needs met and they worked hard to maximize the quality and experience at every turn. The depth of CMT staff knowledge of Nepali culture, history and customs was exceptional. Our trek to Pikey Peak was very well planned. The duration and level of difficulty of the trek was perfect for us. Our guides and porters were outstanding in the knowledge of the terrain, route and communities. The sunrise hike to the Pikey Peak summit was amazing! The panoramic view of Mount Everest and the Himalayas was stunning. At every point in our trip, CMT staff made us feel like part of the family. We strongly recommend Crystal Mountain Treks if you are planning a visit to Nepal!

Overall trip was well organized with excellent guides & porters. Drove from Kathmandu to Dhap - trekked for 3 & 1/2 days and took the flight back from Phaplu. Day 1: Dhap-Jhyapre, Good accommodation. Last point in the route where you can charge your phones (until you reach Junbesi - Day 3). Good food and comfortable rooms. Day 2: Bhulbhule, the only lodge in the area. Very basic accommodation & food. New lodges are coming-up 1 hour further up. No lights in the room so a headlamp is a must. Day 3: Pikey Peak Base Camp - 2 lodges only. We were the only guests in the lower one. Had excellent vegetarian momos for dinner. Day 4: Pikey Peak climb (casually 1.5 hours) - early morning while it's dark. Great view all the way from the Annapurna range to Kanchenjunga! What we did different is we went back to the lodge, had breakfast and then headed out. It was the longest walk from Pikey Peak to Junbesi, with pretty difficult descent. Very good accommodation, hot shower & food. Day 5: Around Junbesi - visited Thuktencholing Monastery. Hired vehicle to Phaplu instead of walking it - not worth walking (realized we had to walk along the main road). Overnight in Phaplu. Day 6: Flight to Kathmandu. Our afternoon flight was rescheduled at 9am! - this also happens :).
